Goldman Saks Not Laboring

Posted on September 7th, 2009 in Princess Wears Prada, Sista Christian Louboutin by hireheels

On this Labor Day, 9.7, Americans are “celebrating” the worst jobless rate since 1982 — our shoe budget is dashed for sure. While the boys of Goldman Sachs were Net-Jetting to St. Tropez blowing their bonuses, the rest of us have been relegated to the clearance rack (praying for an 80% off sale @ Saks), and are expected to do a lot more work for considerably less money.

Is joblessness becoming the trend in America?

It’s not even that we have a high jobless rate —which coincidentally is also “9.7″—it’s that The Land of the Free has a lot of free time on its hands and is also working for free! So, are those of us who are willing to work, willing to do so for half of what they used to earn, or even for free?

Sadly, YES!

And by the way, for those of you who think we’ve been musing through mykonos or ambling along the amalfi coast this summer. Not so much. These hireheelers have been workin’ it — heel-toein’ it to the canyons of NYC, through the canals of Amsterdam and (teetering) on the cobblestones of Beantown… nor did these politistas have an appetite for the healthcare buffet, town brawls or green tea parties.

So what’s next?

Well, short of digging a “Gold”man (who’s preferably not short LOL), these gals are going to labor on and celebrate our enterpreneurial spirit… hopefully inspiring you savvy hireheelers along the way.

welcome back, ladies! we’ve missed y’all!
personally, i don’t think the Obama administration gives a damn about the jobless numbers, because it puts the proletariat right where they want them….which is turning to the government for help. These boys in control want americans to turn to them, and not the free enterprise system, in my opinion. capitalism is so last year to the Obama-niks.
And by the way, i was in labor for 27, count ‘em twenty-seven hours giving birth to my precious baby girl (34 years ago) so happy labor day to me!!!! :)

haven’t gone down that labor trail yet cindy…..wow!!

yes, it doesn’t appear the administration is stimulating the job economy — i continue to get emails from highly experienced friends who are only now losing their jobs…so the joblessness appears to be ‘trickling up’ – so to speak – i hate to start the school season on a negative tone, but we call it the way we see it here @ hireheels…. thanks for checking in!

don’t think the msm gets it almost every-time see them they report that job losses are at an all time high . but almost in the next breath there telling that its improving . just one more reason the MSM is losing all credibility

Great to see you back ladies. This heeler toiled all through July and found there was suddenly no work in August. Princess, I believe in the “trickle up ” theory. Those of us who are self employed have had to accept whatever comes our way and have less work and lower rates.

And yes, Sista, to add insult to injury, we now have to look longingly at our friends who can still wear heels on cobblestones. I played it safe yesterday with sensible (ugh) shoes, but am hopeful for a stacked heel soon.

There is NO such THING as a Jobless Recovery and I am sick of the people in Washington telling this lie as though the common American People are so stupid that they re going to pick their noses and say,”Ohhhhh.duhhhh…ok”. They need to get out of their insulated bubbles and start living in the real world with the rest of us!
