The Boyle-ing Point

Posted on April 17th, 2009 in Sista Christian Louboutin by hireheels

The house lights dimmed, the music came up… Ms. Boyle opened her mouth to sing, while the audience, preemptively wincing, held their collective breaths… Then it happened… Perfect pitch, the voice quality of an angel… The formerly hostile gaggle of onlookers rose to their feet in a boisterous whoop of an ovation. This ‘never-been-kissed’ songstress realized her dream and has ultimately inspired a nation (and the world).

So what’s the point, right? Spinster gets record contract…? A great headline to be sure, but… NO… Susan Boyle inspires us because she believed in herself. She stood tall against incredible odds and made it happen… Yes it’s inspirational alright… BUT the point is… Why were the odds so incredible in the first place?!? A woman with a remarkable gift is, up until now, not permitted or at least limited from sharing it with the world, because of her appearance… Should whether a woman is tall or tiny— blonde, brunette or bald have any bearing on her ability to sing, write, paint or be POTUS?!? Thank you Susan Boyle for giving us all a much needed wake-up call.

Sista, you nailed it. All jobs today, every job, is dependent on youth and appearance. A friend of mine, a respected criminal lawyer who has been published and has a successful private practice, told me that an indigent client refused her court appointed (that means taxpayer paid) services because he thought she was “too old”. Not relevant, but she’s a hip, chic fashionista on a first name basis with the sales staff in SAKS. She has more acquittals to her name than that jerk will ever see. Hope he takes the swaggering male first year law grad and has his license suspended for the max!

PS: When he’s taken the bus to work, he’ll wish he kept the “old gal” as his attorney.

cross posted at my other hang outs:

Hello all Fuzzy his here to spread love and happiness…I have heard through the grapevine some folks who have my cell # have had a time reaching me well it is because about 4 weeks ago I washed the silly thing…at my laundramat.

$ 1500.00 in car repairs have made replacement a little tough for me lately but I should have it back in ops thursday if I find my sim card!

I have been a little depressed lately so forgive my absence it has had nothing to do with you I love you all.

I also have been busy with things that I have been putting off and now have climbed up the priority ladder.

Also May 1st marks the 8th anniversary of Douglas passing I get melancolia every year at this time…

Specially since I am far from where I laid him to rest in the christ church chapel in Pensacola…

I guess I have missed alot here sorry I have been letting my PUMA spirit slide…

I usually recover around mid May so just be patient with me I get real emotional at this time of year…

Dear Fuzzy, it is always nice to hear from you. No need to be in a sparkly mood…anniversary melancholy is always tough to shake. We’re all with you here.

Cell phone laundromat..horrors! Sounds like you’ve been having quite a time with that, the car, and life in general it seems has not been easy for many people this year.

boogie——too funny! and that’s larry summers, the former prez of harvard who said women were not able to grasp math and science as well as men.
well, maybe i don’t know nothin’ ’bout math, but i do know that there aren’t nearly as many women on barack’s cabinet as men. so, that much math i grasp.
