dnc tried to give me a ‘dnc’ on fox yesterday
“HA! Say Online Hillary Supporters,” was The Washington Post headline this morning. I think I’ll
follow Manolo Minx’s lead of graciousness.
Yesterday in a FOX interview I was invited to join, the democratic strategist exclaimed with the utmost bitchiness: “…the only thing Palin and Clinton have in common is a uterus!”
Princess was stunned by the usage of the “U-word.” Shocking even for FOX (and tacky for a political
pundit). Throughout the day, high-profile Dems chimed in. Speaker Pelosi injected herself in the race again by reminding women of their obligation to uphold Roe V. Wade. How uncreative, I thought. The dems bullying us (again) into voting for Senator Obama out of fear — fear of the inability to have a legal abortion in America?
Haven’t the media and the dems figured it out yet? Women are NOT low-information voters! (Just ask Chris Matthews.)
Pay attention DNC! I am done being hijacked by Roe V. Wade and the sheer fear it instills in women. Get you butts in gear and protect the rights of women. That is YOUR job, not mine (though lately we’ve had to pick up the fight for you). And frankly, Senator Obama’s track record on women’s rights is downright under-whelming. You jammed him down our throats — you deal with the fallout!
Indeed, this year’s election IS about choice. Do we choose to reward a party that allowed misogyny to go unchecked or do we consider a party that defied its long-standing exclusion of women by actually putting a “uterus” on the ticket (that is the last time I’ll use that word!)?
Does that mean I’m voting for McCain? Of course not. But McCain’s choice validates what I’ve said all along: Neither candidate can win without Hillary Clinton Women. (see my fox intvu from July)…
I have made it clear I do not intend to vote Democratic this year — the Just Say No Deal / PUMA movement leaves no room for ambiguity on this point. Post-denver, I suspect some will follow The Clintons’ lead by grudgingly supporting the democratic ticket — a path I respect and understand.
I cannot. I know too much. I saw too much. But I haven’t said enough.
The Just Say No Deal Coalition will continue its work in the coming weeks as a watchdog group, taking risks and going places where no one else dared go. HireHeels will continue its fight for women’s rightful, dignified place in politics and media and will never forget where it came from or what inspired its birth.
So, should Princess go to St. Paul to size up the only gal left standing? Tell me what you think….

on August 30th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Yes, princess you should go to St. Paul. Do all you can for those of us who cannot be there, and know that your work and PUMA are the only things keeping the few of us here in the Bay State sane. And yes, many of us do love fashion !
on August 30th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
thanks back bay - i used to live on beacon & dartmouth — i only moved to florida one year ago….
i will try to go to st. paul - - i truly am curious to hear the governess speak live…
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I was a Hillary supporter and feel the nomination was truly hers. I am glad that McCain chose a great vice presidential candidate. He has my vote. I am 55 and tired of the glass ceiling, and don’t want to pass it down to another generation.
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
He made a big mistake not vetting Hillary…big
mistake!
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
yes, go!! i am impressed with mccain’s choice, and because of it I will actually vote for him. i agree that the dnc now has to deal with the fallout of their choices, and very likely that includes many disaffected voters turning to mccain and the republicans winning again.
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
I was an advent Hillary supporter. Since the DNC is so corrupt I will not be able to vote for her. I will never vote for O’Bama who stole this election away, he did not win it the democratic way.
Go JOhn McCain and Sarah Palin. I am extremely impressed with Palin. I cannot wait to vote for this ticket and I am eager to hear Palin speak as much as possible.
All Hillary supporters should stand up and do the right thing. Send the DNC a message and vote for JOhn McCain. Everyone knows in their heart that he is leaps and bounds beyond O’Bama. This is not about sticking with a party this is about voting for the right person….the person that would have the best interests for our country.
God Bless America and may she be in the best hands.
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
i agree with you sage - i need to hear / read more — i’ve barely heard of this woman….i could never support someone solely based on gender — hillary was my gal because she was the best person for the job — both obama and mccain pale in comparison…but obama is just a smooth operator — i know his kind….been there, done that!!!!!!
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I’m a 21 year gay black male…i am an avid hillary supporter and come 2012 she is getting my vote…but I as PUMA, am no way getting in line like all the good little sheep and supporting a man i don’t believe is qualified he’s a thug and no good Chicago thug!….my vote this year is going to McCain/Palin…
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
i will definitely vote for senator mccain now that he has chose governor palin as his vp. it was a smart move, she is very impressive, and although i am pro-choice, anti-war and very concerned about the environment, they have my vote. had the dnc not orchestrated the nomination of senator obama, and had senator clinton taken the nomination she really won, i would have definitely voted for her.

Yes please go to St.Paul and represent all of us! We must push
forward and let everyone know where we stand. Sarah Palin is a wonderful person. How lucky the Republicans are to have her.
I sent Donna Brazile a short little email explaining how sad I was over all this and the DNC. I wrote from my heart. This is her response:
Please do not send me any emails. You are not someone that will help change America. Go back to the past and email those right wing types who are just mis behavin.
I see thru you Satan!

The party has run amuck with idealism, drunk with rhetoric, and all at the cost of pragmatism and principles. Principles? How can our party, let alone country, support a man with connections to Ayers and 20 years of membership in Wright’s church. Insane.
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
i agree fae — donna brazile needs to go
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
i watched hillary give her support to barack and when doing so it proved to me even more why she should be our next president im offended and disheartened that she won more of the popular vote and the bigger states (how many californias is one iowa) i can’t believe that our party has let not only me down but my husband , and my four children. i know hill would have been relentless in her fight to change the way our country is run. barack doesnt have what it takes hes a great guy and maybe in ten years , but now no!! i dont know who im voting for now, my husband included. i think we might write her in, can we do that??
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
tobie - every state is different - i don’t even trust the info on the internet — some states will give a vote for Hillary to Barack….i would call ur local elex office to find out directly from them!
usually it doesn’t count toward anything — so it is essentially a protest vote — i suspect many will write in Hillary! Just make sure u check out the deal first…
on August 30th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
fae “i see through you satan” ?
donna brazile not only needs to go, she needs to be institutionalized. this is a very very sick communication.
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
please go and let us know what you think we trust your judgment as to the writing in dont do it that vote might go to precious!!!!!!!
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Hire Heels, please go to St. Paul and represent us. John McCain stood up for us by putting a qualified woman on his ticket. I regret that our party did not make damn sure our qualified gal got the position she earned/deserved. Anyway, I and my entire extended family are voting McCain/Palin 2008. I cannot and will not support a corrupt DNC.
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
“..Indeed, this year’s election IS about choice. Do we
choose to reward a party that allowed misogyny to
go unchecked or do we…” vote for a misogynist?
“…women of their obligation to
uphold Roe V. Wade. How uncreative, I thought.
The dems bullying us (again) into voting for
Senator Obama out of fear — fear of the inability to
have a legal abortion in America?…”
A great woman can tell the difference between fear mongering and reality.
“[These] Women are NOT low-information voters!” they are just ignorant.
Roe v. Wade WILL be reversed. Is that really ok with you? Really? Well you lost my support.
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
well, the rnc convention is up in the air, it seems….a sr. mccain official told cnn that if gustav hits, the convention will be transformed into a public service event - a telethon of sorts - to raise money via the American red cross for hurricane victims….
they’re gonna need to do at least that much to offset the horrendous memories and images of katrina — which will no doubt be gracing the airwaves…could be a net positive for them if they orchestrate a wave of charity….and a stark contrast to the glamour concert @invesco….
this should be interesting…
palin is expected to speak tuesday — i would only be going to see her….but if she’s a no-show, i may be too…
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
regina, darling — puma voters are smarter than that — if there was ever a risk to a woman’s right to choose - this country would unleash a sea of oestrogen on the streets of america…
kinda like our viral protest this summer….which, uh, resulted in mccain picking a chica….
the people do have power — why not join us regina…it feels real good to be principled and not be a doormat for the dnc
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Way to go, LADIES!!! I would have voted for Hillary in a heartbeat but I’m voting for McCain now just because I don’t know how else to block Obama. He’s just not ready for “prime time”!!
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
The RNC is now under McCain’s guidance, and though I am not a Rep.backer, he has always had some respect from me. So, any decision on Gustave is coming from his camp. HE has never been a Bush duplicate. That said,I do not agree with a lot of his stands, but as Bill Clinton so aptly said,” when you have candidate X and candidate Y…”
on August 30th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
so im watching the news and listening to the windbags pontificate on palin and how she’ll be scrutinized and her every word monitored and how will she ever remember all those exotic sounding names of all those scary world leaders. I have news for the msm, laugh all you want about her silly pageant history, but believe me, by the time you’ve been in enough pageants to become miss alaska or any other state for that matter, you have been scrutinized beyond belief and asked at least as many asinine questions as any dumb pundit could throw at you. laugh about her beauty queen past all you want, but do so at your peril. oh and by the way, it just reminds some of us how pathetic and sexist this society is when women have to compete in a beauty contest in order to get a scholarship for college. so there…..
on August 30th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
have you guys seen what the bots are saying about her son trig? that it’s supposedly her daughters son? WTF is wrong with those people?
on August 30th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
I also am a Hillary Clinton supporter who feels like she was treated bad by the media, Obama, and the dnc. The sham roll call vote broke my heart when my state California “Passed”, I saw this as a true mockery of our democratic values. But, I am not a woman, I am an American gay man who’s partner of 13 years work visa expired, so I write you from France where I now live. You see, I am one of those invisable people Hillary refered to in her speech at the convention. I had to choose between my partner and my country, I chose my partner. My point is, Sarah Palin is an extreme right wing candidate who is against abortion even in cases of rape and incest. She is against gay rights, pro NRA, pro big corporations, pro oil drilling, and she thinks global warming is a farse! I don’t like the idea of Obama any more than most of you do but I am tired of being invisable! So I will vote for Obama anyway with the hope he wins, allows federal rights for people in civil unions including immagration, so I can move back home. Please before you support the GOP, remember all the people that have been invisable for the last 8 years.
In Exile
on August 30th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
Vote for cynthia mcKinney! don’t reward bad undemocratic behavior
on August 30th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
I will vote for McCain-Palin as I really think they are a better choice for American than Obama. The DNC needs not to win this time and should not be rewarded for their behavior. If Obama wins, we lose, the country loses, and the DNC learns nothing from this sham of a nomination.
on August 30th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Yes, Princess should go! PUMA needs to be represented at both conventions. In spite of Nancy Pelosi’s fear tactics, I will gladly vote for “the uterus” this year….even if it is a Republican one….a first time endeavor for this life-long democrat. The democratic party has abandoned me on many levels.
on August 30th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
Yes, Princess. Go to St. Paul. I’m doing my research on Palin. I know it’s difficult to support the ticket, so for those of you who just can’t, the rest of us who can will cross over. . You will love the twin cities. If you need a place to stay, e-mail me and I can find a place for you. That’s my home town.
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
I am a Proud PUMA and love Hillary Clinton but I have enough room in my heart to love Sarah Palin and John McCain…. I already do. When I watched Senator McCain and Governor Palin yesterday… I WAS BLOWN AWAY! My tears fell uncontrollably. In my heart, I know, Palin is just what our country needs to continue Hillarys work and BURST through that glass ceiling.
I can’t wait to vote for the McCain/Palin Ticket.
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
I just stumbled upon your website, and as a woman, all I can say is, you are an embarrassment to all women. Please stick to shoe-shopping. Really.
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
I can’t believe the Democrats passed over the opportunity to have Hillary on the ticket. She should be the presidential nominee, but to not put her on the ticket sure shows Obama does not consider women’s votes important. He had his chance. Hillary is brilliant, but I’ll certainly give Palin a chance.
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
ladies (and gentlemen), we do not need to fear McCain or Palin. They are not going after gay rights or abortion rights. They’re not right-wing hate mongers like some notorious Republicans. They’re moderates, conservative yes, but moderates. They do not have the divide-and-conquer mentality of Bush/Cheney. Putting country first is their mantra and that’s a good thing. In fact, listening to the left-wing hate mongers since Palin was introduced to the world has pushed me even farther away from the party I once believed in. McCain wants his legacy as President to be reconciliation and restoration. Look at his record, listen to his words! He is a maverick with a record of reaching across the isle to get things done and he LOVES Joe Lieberman and has great respect for Hillary Clinton. The guy is a class act. Gov. Palin is a younger, female version of McCain. Don’t let the lefties in our former party, the Obots and the media scare you out of supporting and voting for these two admirable Americans. Puma’s for McCain/Palin!
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:25 pm

on August 30th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
OK LETS NOT JUST TAKE IT! JOE LIEBERMAN WOULD NOT BE IN OFFICE IF HE JUST QUIT.
I WILL NOT VOTE OBAMA OR MCCAIN. I WILL STAY HOME OR VOTE THIRD PARTY.
MY STATE IS FLORIDA WHERE THEY DO NOT COUNT WRITE IN VOTES OR I WOULD WRITE IN HILLARY….
I’VE VOTED DEMOCRATIC SINCE I WAS 18 AND I’M 62 NOW AND I CAN’T FOLLOW MY
PARTYS LEAD. I SENT MONEY TO OReILLEY IN MASS. I CAN AT LEAST TRY TO
UNSEAT KERRY - THAT WILL MAKE ME FEEL LIKE AT LEAST I’M STRIKING BACK.
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:40 pm
i love hillary and worked hard on her campaign. the dnc cheated her (and us). i thought about writing her name in as a protest vote, but decided that would only favor obama. so, i’ll be voting republican for the first time in my 50 years. mccain/palin 2008
on August 30th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Believe it or not, it was an evening of mourning at Invesco Field. Invisible to the Obamamaniacs and the media but real nevertheless. For the Democratic Party, the one we lifelong democrats loved and respected died last night. I rejoice in the opportunity to just keep on going — all the way to the polls to cast by vote for Sarah! Like it or not, Ms. Pelosi, Bitch.

This is my new group for those PUMAs who just cannot stand to be lectured as to whom they should vote; I will even allow reluctant Obama supporters who want Hillary _first_ and are _angry_ at the process and think the DNC is composed of corrupt men and women who have abused their power for the last time.
Moderates_for_Hillary_Clinton@yahoogroups.com
I personally will never vote Obama. And I doubt I’ll get many
reluctant Obama supporters; this is a pro-Hillary Clinton group and it will remain so. But Geraldine Ferraro is right; there are three groups of Hillary Clinton supporters (the PUMAs, those who hate Obama but feel McCain is worse, and those who aren’t as informed as the first two groups and really liked Hillary and are uneasy about Obama. Somehow, the first
two groups need to ally now_in order to fight the corrupt DNC now.

in texas!!
on August 30th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
ozgal - what an amazing link — guys u need to click on it for palin comparison to obama (not even biden!)…
meanwhile - katiebird just expressed concern about some rogue puma vids alluding to racism — obviously created by obots…!!! here is my advice on that stuff:
i am of the opinion that the PUMA brand is strong and noble, albeit rogue — i never chase the b-sphere crap — if i had, i wouldn’t have had any time for a media strategy…try to ignore it…if it floats up to mainstream media == then we act…and we counter hard!
i think we have a lot of ’secret’ admirers ..case in point…i spent coronation night with over a dozen rebel hillary delegates who thanked me and admitted to being a ‘lurker’ on our sites (hireheels & justsaynodeal)….it was an amazing moment for me personally….so much of what we’ve done was without authority, permission….and to get that kind of validation ….was incredibly moving…
i KNOW carville, ferraro, davis et al…admire the stand we’ve taken….
let’s stick together and strong and we should be fine…i promise!!

It’s nice that you are all so excited about SP as McCain’s VP. I was, too, untill I found out that she is part of the religious right and that they are dancing in their mega-churches right now because our Rep Nom is pandering to them and again women are being thrown under the bus. He didn’t do this to get our support. He did it to get the vote of that big block, who admitt that they want to replace democracy with theocracy. How many candidates do we have to fight for democracy for? We thought we knew McCain but we really didn’t. I was in Denver and will never forget seeing one of Hillary’s delegates crying in front of the convention center after she released her delegates. But it’s not enough for me to vote for a far right candidate like that just beause she is a woman. Sinse I still can’t vote for BO I am in quite a delema. I am so very angry at those two men. Neither of them care about this country or we Americans. It is all about power for both of them. Neither get my vote!!
on August 30th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
I’m simply appalled at the selection and coronation of Barack Obama. Why? Let me count the ways.
1. Inexperienced to the hilt (Sarah Palin has more executive experience and accomplishments)
2. Undemocratic processes lifted him to where he is (Dem leaders supporting him at every turn)
3. No core foundation for decision-making and political positions

whoa, nancy…don’t fall for the right wing labels about sarah palin or mccain. she’s catholic, did you know that? same as biden. what’s so right wing about that? she’s pro-life, but did you realize there are elected officials in the dem party who are also pro-life?
on August 30th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
right on, appalled!
on August 30th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
look, mccain picked palin because she was a smart pick. he didn’t just pick her because she’s a woman or just because he wanted us (hillary’s supporters). she’s also catholic, a group that both parties fight over. she’s also from the western frontier, another group both parties are vying for in november. and she’s a reformer, which appeals to independents. that’s why he picked her. she brings several important groups into play, which is why she is such a brilliant (and qualified) pick for Mccain. that’s why he’s going to win in a landslide in nov. this puma says nobama, yes mccain!
on August 30th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
don’t buy into whole using my uterus as a way to garner my vote. I know that Supreme Court Justices only interpret the law. Congress writes and passes the laws. There should be a push by BHO supporters to vote a downticket of Dems (veto override power) if they cannot convince otherwise. Instead, it is always that we must be dried up old hags with dust for uteruses. Never mind my husband or all the men like him who are also refusing to support Obama.
I am irked that so many Obama supporters are using this as some kind of weird hostage/ negotiating tactic when speaking to Hillary hold-outs. If they were really concerned with my uterus and the uteruses of all women, they would have supported the only candidate who has put women’s and children’s issues on the forefront her entire adult life.
The DNC did their bidding and they get what they get. They screwed us either way we vote.

Princess, re: St. Paul, while it might be interesting to compare and contrast, why bother? It seems likely that, unlike the Dems, the Republicans will simply be crossing t’s and dotting i’s. Personally, I could not care less what they do. Unfortunately, I feel the same way about the Dems, I no longer have a dog in this fight, they didn’t care about my passions and opinions before, they haven’t asked me for my vote, they’ve either assumed it was a given, or tried to strong arm me for it. Let ‘em eat Twinkies; I doubt if they could brainstorm well enough to figure out how to buy or bake a real cake. From now on, I celebrate my independence from both parties.
on August 31st, 2008 at 12:12 am
Wow—the obamabots have really turned the heat on Sarah Palin. They are calling her the same ugly names they called Senator Clinton plus a lot of uglier vitriol because she did not abort her less than perfect Child.Campbell Brown angry because(her words)dared to accuse our guy Obama of not having experience.CNN should be sent e-mails to at least tell her she is supposed to be a reporter not a campaign manager for Obama.Naturally old Jack and KO are vomiting up their bile. The Democrats did not want any part of Senator Clinton except for her voters. There are worse things in life than no longer being a spineless member of the Democratic party.
on August 31st, 2008 at 12:22 am
Yes, go, But, I’m already on the McCain/Palin ticket. Palin has more qualifications than Obama, sadly. But, I’m voting on the Pres, not VP. Though, Palin makes it a real vote rather than a protest vote. And that is from a man, not a woman. A man who so far has only voted for a Dem Pres candidate. But, this cycle is about change, after all.
on August 31st, 2008 at 12:35 am
There is no question that I disagree with some Palin stands. Creationism for one. I don’t know yet if that is true, I will keep checking, but McCain is the top of the ticket and he is not a Creationist. On the other hand and very importantly, Obama is a follower of Black Liberation Theology, and I did do my research on that. I read the books, and it is a lot scarier than creationism, at least they don’t want me dead, or “destroyed” in whatever manner is possible.

yes, i’m also tired of the threat of abortion rights being shuved down our throats to let obama have his way when we ALL know the DNC stole the nomination from Hillary and gave to obama.
i am a true independant and i have voted democrat in the past. i am also a vegan for eternity, yet, i will vote for mccain-palin proudly, end of story. the alternative (obama) is horrendous.
i really like palin too, she is a tough cookie as they say, and it’s time we had a woman like that in the white house, not just any woman, but a woman who can stand up and fight like palin did against the repubs in her state. she’s already proven she is a fighting lioness.
i am sorry that hillary let partisian politics get in the way with her fight and i believe had she stayed and fought, she would be the next president.
but God waits for no man or woman and so the torch has passed to palin and palin is a woman who has already proved her party doesn’t mean nothing when it comes to fighting corruption.

have you have you noticed the change in the obama, nits recently as soon as she was maccains vp choice they have been sucking up in every they can to the girls of hh
on August 31st, 2008 at 2:00 am
Very offended by fur and pro choice but Sarah Pailin is definitely sparking my interest.
She has our puma fearlessness of standing up to the top.
If we did it to the dnc, that spirit in washington may just be the answer to our prayers. I am curious about how she feels about many other important issues women are concerned about besides our uteruses and our somewhat leftist ideals. I really liked Cindy’s dress, she looked so pretty in it, the color was so flattering with her blond hair. She has a nice sense of style and seems to be very compassionate.

These people need help! I would like to know why women that are called “Reagan Democrats” have never been criticized for voting for Republicans in the past. They are called REAGAN Democrats, meaning they voted for Reagan,Bill Clinton twice, and George Bush twice(some did). In fact polls show 1 in every 5 female Clinton supporters voted for Bush in 2004! Those Republicans were MEN, but they were also pro-life! Why was it ok when they did that, but now to support McCain/Palin means they are traitors to women! Many of these “Reagan” democratic women are more conservative on social issues anyway, I am! This seems like an obvious sexist double standard that liberals have. It’s swell if you vote Republican sometimes, just not a female Republican! Some Republicans will be voting for Barack Obama even though they are pro-life and view abortion as MURDER! No one says they are selling out their values or anything like that! Oh no, they are enlightened! I also find it incredibly insulting that Democrats want to basically laugh at the pick of Sarah Palin, saying she doesn’t have enough experience to be Vice President! That’s rich considering she has much MORE than Barack Obama who’s possibly about to be President! They are being incredibly insulting! I think John McCain’s pick has exposed the democratic hypocrisy of equality. You know their motto: ” do as we say,not as we do”! Palin has executive experience. I know a lot of people are quick to undermine her because Alaska is so small (little under a million people). At least she has run something! Has Barack Obama ever run anything other than his mouth? Obama has only been on the National stage 3 and half years, and at least two of those he’s been busy running for President! I would like to know form Democrats one more time, why she’s a bad choice? If you disagree with her ideaology that’s fine, but I wish they would quit shoving Roe v Wade down my throat! I don’t believe a supreme court of ALL conservatives would ever overturn it! McCain/Palin08″Reforming Washington”!
on August 31st, 2008 at 5:08 am
Yes, go to St.Paul and tell us what you see.
Sen. Obama has reversed himself on so many positions that I have no confidence in him. He lacks the political will and capital to end the war in Iraq, as he would enter the White House with a major handicap–the need to prove he has a big, hard military dick to differentiate himself from girly-man Dems who are concerned about health care, education and other pink issues. We have seen enough woman-hatred from him and his camp to know Obama would need to prove his manhood before the nation.
McCain does not share this problem, having proved his military creds forty years ago. If he took to the notion of ending the war, he might actually be able to pull it off.

Women are not blind to the fact that abortion is being used by the misogynists in the Obama camp to scare us into not voting for McCain.
Mr. Wrongbama and the hierarchy of the democrat party denied us having a highly qualified woman in the White House or even a heartbeat away from the highest office on earth.
Abortions now are not how they were 50, 30, 10, 5 or even one year ago. With advanced testing a woman could find out if she is pregnant within a few days. Today more options are available to her than even a year ago or even last month.
The corrupt democratic establishment is trying to put two clowns in the White House. If they succeed, we will not see a woman on the ticket for at least eight years from now. Most women are suffering from inequality and not from lack of availability for birth control methods. I believe that we are not in danger of having to perform abortions in back alleys, and the way science is advancing the need to have an abortion
will not be relevant in the very near future. Denying women the right to abortions has been a way to control women. It is shameful that when democrats support (not all democrats do) the abortion right they demand exclusive right to women’s vote as payback.
Abortion is not an issue. The issue is that during the next 8 years millions of women will be denied promotion, equal pay, and even get tortured and die because they will not have an American woman president to champion their rights for equality. Look how Obama treated Senator Clinton. Women issues are not on top of his priority list. Every day a qualified woman is kept away from leading this nation and this world,
women will continue to be denied, get tortured and murdered. This doesn’t seem to upset Obama, Biden or the rest of the clown parade.
Women have been and will continue to suffer if the American people denied women access to the White House …Obama and Biden are giving the American women one right and denying them many more. Palin and McCain are holding the door wide open for the women of this world to be all they can
be. America and the entire world will be better off and women’s rights will be better served if we have a woman in the White House or a heartbeat away. McCain understands, when would the rest of the enlightened.

A re post from Holly tibbles about McCain and his wife. I’m sure you’ll have some explanation about why it doesn’t matter, and doesn’t make him a sexist pig who should never be anywhere near the White House.. though I was always under the impression c–t was worse than sweetie.
This happened in Arizona, several years ago. Apparently she was teasing him about his hair thinning a bit in front of reporters, and he shot back something to the effect of ” Well at least I don’t trowel on the makeup like you, you c__t. No body talks about the horrid jokes he makes about women, minorities, etc. He’s a disrespectful, bigoted pig. No, I am not being selective for a purpose either. In my world, that is simply a non starter. I like that Barack clearly loves his wife, and treats her with respect and as an equal. For all his faults, I believe Bill Clinton has treated Hillary as his equal too, even though I was disappointed that he cheated on her. But, that is between them. Never once have I seen McCain talk to or give deference to his wife in a way that showed me he considered her on par. She is always quietly in the background, subservient to him, even though her money funds it all! He wouldn’t be where he is without her plane!
I am sure Sarah Palin is a fine woman, but she is a bible thumper. She believes a womans place is below a mans, because she believes the bible says so. She believes a woman should not have a right to an abortion, even in cases of incest or rape. That is EXTREME and not supportive of women in the least. Plenty of women every day in this country are abused and now you want to say they have to endure and live with the consequence of that abuse, no matter what? Crazy!!! She believes that global warming is not man made. Can we afford this kind of thinking, if McCain were to pass on? Even if we’re all wrong on global warming, can we just take a chance and wait and see? I for one do not believe we can take that risk. And what about sciences? She does not believe in stem cell research— and wants to teach creationism in schools. I guess that would be fine, if you are a Christian, which I am, but what if you are not?

While I do not agree with Senator McCain and *GOVERNOR* Palin on everything, I am sick of being held hostage by the Democrat party by Roe and gay marriage.
My favorite Justice was O’Connor, a Reagan appointee. Obama’s stance on gay marriage? Its about the same as McCain: god says no, but I might let you shack up.
Enough.
I was the last loyal democrat holdout in my household but enough.
My vote is my vote and I am giving it to the team with integrity and a message I can actually understand.
So much for the MSM saying we are a myth and don’t matter.
I was for Hillary.
I am for McCain/Palin.
I am not a myth.
I matter.
Thank you for giving us a space to speak and be heard.

Thanks for the link to Greta. Here’s my post:
this is one proud puma who joined because of election corruption and the mccarthy-like tactics used by obama in his campaign. they’ve denounced 18 million voters as racist, a lying allegation that only fuels divisiveness in this country all for the sake of nominating a clueless, incompetent and very damaging candidate. however small or large the puma movement, what is important is i now know there are other american citizens out there who deplore and have the courage to speak out against the hate-mongering and election “engineering” of democrat ‘leadership’.
the misogynistic hatred speaks for itself, has been recorded for posterity (what a legacy), and continues. sarah palin has been criticized for having given birth to a special needs child by liberals? this is beyond reprehensible. since colmes of fox news has joined in on that very despicable meme, please inform him that palin makes her own biological choices. it is not his business, hence the term “pro-choice”. how old was rose kennedy when she gave birth to teddy? answer: doesn’t matter, because that isn’t any of colmes’s business either.
obama has created a democratic party that is unrecognizable to many of us, a party that is rigid, dictatorial and vindictive. it is a party that now exploits racism, sexism, religion and even downs’ syndrome for the sake of its very weak candidate and his very insecure followers.
no, i won’t support that and i want to thank the founders of puma for taking the high road and providing leadership out of the waste land.
on August 31st, 2008 at 11:56 am
Any Alaskans here? Please speak up and let me know if my info is wrong. Years ago, when I was in the air force reserve, I spent a lot of time in Alaska and the really impressive thing to me is that they ever voted in a woman governor. That they did tells me that Sarah Palin must be an incredible person with a forceful presence who can overcome any sexism. She must know what the good people of Alaska need and want and with her current approval rating, apparently she’s delivered.
Now that the bots are coming after her with smears it will be sport to watch her respond — if she even does. The bots will have a tiger by the tail and won’t know what hit them. I’m hoping they completely overplay their hand on the misogyny play so that there’s no mistaking their vulgarity and bo’s mindset about women. You can only denounce your “surrogates” so many times, right?
on August 31st, 2008 at 12:36 pm
1. go to the repub convention? if you have the resources, take in the experience for one night. no telling what you might learn.
2. feel you don’t have a choice in this election? please consider the green party (http://www.gp.org/). please help the smaller parties out. the republicans have plenty of money. please help get smaller party candidates on the ballots across the country. please demand that smaller party candidates be included in polling and debates. specifically–demand that all the smaller party presidential candidates be included in the presidential debates in louisiana.
mckinney! mckinney! mckinney! mckinney!

Thank you for keeping our voices alive and well! Another point worth mentioning is that Palin is not anti-gay and Obama ,the DNC, and MSM would like to make this a reason not to vote for McCain/Palin. I am a gay democrat and will change my vote to Replublican just because of PUMA intentions and the mistreatment of women in the election process. Fear and limiting choices is how Obama has always operated and we cannot let them take our vote. It’s ours and it’s an American Trust.
on August 31st, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Wow. Everything appears to be on the McCain side. They will be able to turn their convention in to a civic duty forum, and not the sham, egotistical forum that the Dem convention was. I admire the Palin pick. Experience at the top, and a VP who can pull in many groups. The Biden pick only hi-lights BOs many weaknesses at this stage of his career. This one-time Dem only voter for the Pres will have no problem at all voting for McCain this year (though I’ll still wish it were Hillary)!!! God Bless the people in the Gulf region and keep them safe.

more to remind peeps just how INexperienced sen obama is…besides, we want our experience at the top of the ticket!!
that’s why we fought so hard for hillary clinton
on August 31st, 2008 at 2:09 pm
yes, and all of a sudden this seems to be an election based, for the moment anyway, entirely on the veep choices — isn’t that a surprise.
what’s particularly interesting is that the MSM are spending most of their time comparing Palin’s experience to bo’s. Why? Because he doens’t even come close to McCains and they can only marginalize Palin. And they can’t even do that….successfully.
Hillary 2012!
on August 31st, 2008 at 2:31 pm
HH: Thanks for your comparison on JSND. Wow! When you break it down like that, it’s remarkable that axel(ofevil)rod has the temerity to use Palin and bo’s name in the same sentence, let alone come up with a smear campaign against her. How pathetic the “new dems” are.
in the coming weeks I want to become more involved in “where do we go from here?” There are several issues that have resulted from this race that need to be addressed on an ongoing basis: Sexism and truth in media, how to get rid of the current Dem leadership and take back the party, what will we do in 2012, a renewed push for women’s rights, etc. I am certain many here will want to continue the good fight.
on August 31st, 2008 at 3:52 pm
What the hell ever happened to the centerpiece of Hillary’s promises, health care for all. Do any of you women realize how many, many women struggle in this country to get health care, or provide it for their children? Isn’t that one of the reasons you believed in her? Or is it just because she was a woman? John McCain has ZERO interest, or understanding of what it is to struggle financially in this country. His moron advisors have actually said things like—”Everyone in this country does have health insurance, all they need to do is go to an emergency room”. Tell that to all the poor women of this country battling breast cancer, without insurance. Or the people that have recetly DIED in the waiting room at several hopsitals in the US.You ladies obviously did not really believe in Hillary’s causes, or there would be NO WAY in the world that you’d be supporting John McCain. If you loved Hillary, and what she stands for so much, you’d give her a fighting chance of pasing the one piece of legislation that she has devoted the majority of her career on—Universal Health Care.
I care about all the single moms out there that are DYING economically, and literally right now, because of the failed Republican idealogy of trickle down politics. All those rich, white men throwing crumbs our way can kiss my ass. We WILL defeat John McCain in November. Obama may not be perfect, the DNC is not either, but I sure as hell believe in the idealogy of bottom up more.
There are far too many women in this country that can barely afford shoes, let alone Manolo’s for me to be splitting hairs on bullshit!
on August 31st, 2008 at 4:10 pm
wow. sista just limped back early this am from denver, it’s fab to see the dialogue is quite alive. speaking out and speaking up will continue to get our message heard. thanks heels. as for gov. palin, i don’t agree with her policies, but i certainly respect that she walks the walk. there is no smoke and mirror show with this lady— she’s the genuine article. i am certainly not committed to voting for the mccain/palin ticket, but i will certainly listen to what they have to say. the race has gotten quite interesting now hasn’t it?
to our readers, commenters, friends and even our trolls from down south— please take care and be safe. we heels up in beantown and in the rest of the country are thinking of you and we will be there for you after this massive storm subsides. please keep us posted.

on August 31st, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Kudo’s to the McCain campaign and the Republicans (I can’t believe I’m saying that!) for compressing their convention schedule in MN out of respect for the people (my people) of the Gulf Coast. As we speak, I have family who have evacuated to my home (Jackson, MS) because of Gustav (after going through Katrina only 3 years ago). This storm is bad, ya’ll, and we need your prayers. FEMA’s response is so much better this time (it was non-existent last time), and surely lives will be saved because of it, but loss of property will be massive (again). My loved ones’ homes were totally destroyed last time (5 houses in all). They have just gotten back into new homes in the last 18 months. Since I am so personally connected to this storm in the gulf, I am even more appreciative of McCain for putting his fellow citizens above his own political campaign. The guy is a class act. He has the heart of a champion, which is why I also love Hillary so much. Right now, 2 million of your fellow citizens in MS, LA, and TX are uncertain about their future and what they will return to after the storm passes. Loss of homes, jobs, personal belongings, etc. Please pray for rhose affected by this. How dare former DNC chair Don Fowler, Mike Moore and Keith Oberman on MSNBC, and other O-bots gloating about Gustav disrupting the RNC convention. Those guys are despicable. McCain/Palin 2008
on August 31st, 2008 at 5:58 pm
Regarding the no experience charge on Palin, Nancy Pelosi during Greta VanSustern’s interview, stated that Obama’s lack of experience was a good thing; also was the fact that he was not inside the beltway. Several other surrogates of O said the same, including Judas aka Gov. Richardson. Now they are using this against Palin? How low will they go? Next move, Republicans show those statements in an ad.

I Just heard it on fox. McCain will be using the convention to rally help for the hurricane victims.
Unlike Obama he does put the American people first. This is what our president should be. A man that puts his country before political gain. I guess yesterday the democratic politicians were laughing about Gustuv just because of the convention. They were happy that another major hurricane would be hitting the gulf just for political gain. See the difference?
Obama camp will say, it’s pandering to the voters….dog and pony show. Lol…..what a big difference don’t you think?

on August 31st, 2008 at 10:35 pm
if you do go to meet Palin, her stance on abortion needs to be explored. I can understand pro life to a certain extent, but her views are extreme, too extreme for me to be comfortable voting for McCain. I won’t vote Obama, but I am not sure I will vote for McCain. I will probably write in Hillary, or not vote at all. Palin doesn’t support abortions even in cases of rape and incest, and I’m sorry. I won’t support that type of extremism. This bothers me, I’m not going to say it doesn’t. And I’m not supporting that. So if you do meet this woman, ask her about this. The women in this country want to know how she can justify that position.

McCain-Palin drew 17,000 outside of Jackson, MS. pardon me, but did they know who they were going to see? I mean, those are BO numbers, aren’t they?
I I don’t think BO is happy about things. I watched, won’t listen, to him while Biden was addressing the crowd, either today or yesterday, it all runs together. Anyway, he didn’t watch Biden and he didn’t watch the crowd, most of the speech he spent looking down with a kind of constipated look on his face.
He just doesn’t seem happy about things. I alsonoted that his comments on McCain going to MS was another of those petulant child foot in mouth things. He starts off well by saying he thought it was fine that McCain was there, then adds a “but” and goes on to say why McCain shouldn’t be there. The way I see it, they asked him, he made all the appropriate plans, and they were far enough away from the coast to not interfere with evacuation.
I will vote for McCain, he doesn’t scare me nearly as much as BO, and I want the Dems to pay for their arrogance and disdain, but I wll support one Dem. downticket, in particular. That is Christine Jernnings vs Buchanan in Fl. They stole the election last time. Said that 18,000 people, in mostly Dem areas undervoted, only on that race, and only oh the touchscreen voting machines. This was somewhere around a 12 or 13 % undervote, while 1.5% is traditional for this district.
I still have my Jennings sticker in the front window of my van, two years old. I think it may be strange to have Jennings on one side and McCain-Palin on the other.

As a recent supporter of McCain, I found it very disturbing when I came across this news of the interview from a month ago about Palin not knowing what the Vice President actually does.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12969.html
This is just one source, there are many more with actual video if searched.
I’m insulted that the only woman that Republicans can find is this far removed from the government she serves in and the job she says she’s ready for. They honestly think that they can Hillary and Palin are interchangable because they are both women. I’m insulted that they think women don’t pay attention to the issues or ideology of candidates, only of gender. I loved Hillary because she was the best choice, not the right sex.
I have no idea what I’m going to do but I WILL NOT be voting for McCain now.

crissy, i do pay attention to issues, ideology and character. Clinton, Palin and McCain have character. Obama has political expediency and he’s not even good at that.
Palin has lived women’s liberation and does not force her views down the throats of her constituents. What a refreshing change from the coercive tactics of O supporters.

Thanks, ozgal, for providing that youtube link to wasselman-shultz of florida yesterday on cnn making those disgusting remarks about the only similarities in hillary and palin are their “parts.” it is so sad to me to see these once great heroes of mine in the democratic party stooping to such low, desperate tactics.

I read that Wolfson article, then linked to his website and read the blog roll. From the looks of it, I think he’s been lying all along. I also did a post about Greta’s PUMA question and the notion that we’re some mythical surprise. People should not be able to get away with lying, either outright or with nuanced massaging of the facts.

happy labor day eileenor. your little tribe of puma hunters can take your tranquilizer guns and go back to your zoo full of zealots. we will not fall in line, simply because we are told to do so. we will not vote to reward a party (sadly our party) that has intimidated some of its most vulnerable members with personal harm or character assassination. it’s a disgrace; you and your people should be ashamed. i personally have not endorsed senator mccain and gov. palin, but if you continue with this mean-spirited tack, I can assure you that Senator Obama will lack the votes he needs to garner a win in november. stop blaming us for your shortcomings!!!

Here’s a quote:
“DENVER — After the phony roll call vote was taken here to formally nominate Barack Obama — a roll call that did not remotely reflect the true delegate strength of Hillary — the media exploded in an orgy of celebration about the historic character of the moment to which they had just been privileged to be witness.”

(donna b beginns to babble about the one and being a SD and a member of the RBC)

boogieman7167 said: “looks like pat might be a puma”
Of course he’s a puma. If supporting pumas means it gets his party another 4-8 years and a few more Supreme Court puppets that the arch-conservatives can use to take this country back to the wonder years of the 1950s, of course he’s going to support you fickle sheep. But please remember that Pat has also shown himself to be astoundingly racist, anti-feminist, virulently anti-gay, and on and on. If you’re pointing to Pat Buchanan’s words as an example, you might as well start linking to the KKK’s website too, just to see what they have to say.
boogieman7167 also said: “pumas are free thinkers we dont just fall in line”
Count those thoughts for as long as you can, because if the Repubs get 4 more years in office, then you darn well will have to start falling in line, because the Supreme Court will be untiltingly arch-conservative for at least the next 30 years. It isn’t just about Roe v. Wade, girls and boys. The Supreme Court has dropped a frightening amount of hardline conservative judgments on this country in the last 2 years (since they got their majority of 5), and with two very aged justices in the liberal minority of 4, if Obama’s not there to replace them, that hardline conservative majority gets solidified to 7. So, you gals want an equal paycheck? Don’t go asking the Supreme Court for in the next few years. And if McCain becomes president, you can pretty much forget about it ever happening in your lifetime. That, and a whole lot more draconian crap. Want to make your own reproductive decisions? Tough luck. It’s no longer between you and your doctor, but between your doctor and the United States of Conservative Christians (you probably won’t have a say in the matter). Want your children to be able to actually express an opinion at school? No way.
If you people hand this one to McCain, even Hillary won’t be able to save you by the time we hit 2012.

Amazing when almost ALL African-Americans even the Republican ones vote for Obama based on race it’s PRIDE! When women vote for a woman based on gender it’s a disgrace! Women should learn how to be PROUD of women the same way African-Americans are PROUD of their race! What’s wrong with that. I for one am an Independent voter. I voted fro Hillary and then I went to McCain immediately after and before Palin! I’m an Independent b/c I don’t agree with either Party completely! I was part of the DraftSarahPalinFroVp.com movement for awhile though. I don’t see anything wrong with it! McCain already had my vote, and I knew he needed a conservative for the base since he’s so liberal-why not a strong woman? Also, what happened to all the “Reagan Democrats” that voted for Hillary in the primaries? Did they disappear after Palin was put on the ticket? It used to be ok to be a Democrat who sometimes voted for a Republican–it was called a Reagan Democrat! That was before the choice was for a Republican woman I guess! They even gave Republicans for Obama a catchy name–Obamicans! We need to start asking them what Republicans could possibly see in Obama. Oh, that’s right he’s the chosen one and he brings HOPE! Maybe we should just tell them: “Iron MY Vote”! I’m glad I don’t belong to that Party, they are vile. With the exception of the good half of coarse! ; )
on September 2nd, 2008 at 6:31 am
People could use this four more years argument on any Republican other than John McCain! I’m an Independent with a bipartisan perspective! John McCain is nothing like Bush! Why do you think his own Party doesn’t like him? They just now started donating to McCain b/c of Palin who is a Republican! The Democrats have to use this argument b/c it’s all they have! They can’t explain why John Kerry asked McCain to be his running mate in 2004 or why Joe Biden said he would be honored to run with or against McCain! Do they really think people are dumb enough to believe that McCain completely changed in the last 4 years-he’s 72! He’s pandering to Republicans-that’s what you do to win! When he gets in there he’ll be the same liberal the Republicans hate! Just like how you guys say his energy plan is only drilling! He has the most comprehensive energy plan ever put forth, and it includes EVERYTHING-Renewables,CAFE standards, natural gas, wind, solar, hydro, clean coal technology, nuclear power with safe storage and recyclable waste, electric cars, better electric battery,flex-fuel vehicles, tax credits for consumers buying zero emission cars($5,000),other tax credits for lower emissions, tax increase on auto makers who don’t meet the raised mileage requirements, cellulosic ethanol,plug-in hybrids, cut wasteful spending and special interest groups, green jobs, tax credit for research and development, cap and trade system (with an exclusion for small businesses),green the federal government, electricity grid and metering improvements, attacking the oil speculators, limited offshore drilling with strict oversight,he does not support the windfall profit tax only b/c Jimmy Carter did it and it’s a failed policy! If you ask a Democrat, his energy plan is an oil drilling gimmick, eventhough this was his plan when he started running and he only added drilling when gas hit $4/gal!!
on September 2nd, 2008 at 6:34 am
I am begging all Hillary supporters to give John McCain a REAL look and compare his bio, experience, past accomplishments, views, and proposals against Obama and see who we really can’t take four more years of(Jimmy Carter II).

What the Palin Pick Says
By DAVID BROOKS
Published: September 1, 2008
A quote to spark your interest:
“Like McCain, Palin does not seem to have an explicit governing philosophy. Her background is socially conservative, but she has not pushed that as governor of Alaska. She seems to find it easier to work with liberal Democrats than the mandarins in her own party.”

It’s probably good to get so many like-minded people to respond here; but I feel the need as a fellow woman and Clinton-supporter, to alert you to the dangers of making a McCain/Palin vote. Do you also get a strong sense (as I do and many other women) that McCain strategists are USING Palin to try and get 18 million votes from Hillary? To me, placing Palin on the ticket is 1) totally irresponsible b/c of her very limited experience and 2) undermines us women in that they feel that putting a woman on the ticket will in itself convert all of us to vote Republican in Nov. No thanks!! I’d like a future for my kids and a positive one for this country. Don’t vote Republican just because she’s a female. Act your age, not your shoesize sister!!!

‘Tis my group that’s referenced above — I asked people to spread it far and wide, and they did.
I am very pleased with Geraldine Ferraro and her assessment of the PUMAs and what we’re likely to do. I am less than pleased over her endorsement of Biden and Obama; I wonder who pressured her, and why?
What a topsy-turvy year this has been.
I will continue to fight the corrupt DNC with all my strength. NObama!
