hireheels asks: where’s the tofu? (beef is so ’80′s)

Posted on August 22nd, 2008 in Manolo Minx by hireheels

As we prepare for the coronation Democratic National Convention, it’s becoming painfully clear that lots of the Dem faithful are growing uneasy about the anointed one presumptive nominee. You can’t swing a dead cat over your head without hearing how worried Dem-leaning folks are that Obama’s not cleaning the floor with McCain in this of all years, the one in which a Democratic corpse should be 20 points ahead of any Republican.

I was chatting earlier this week with the delightful Sista Christian Louboutin when it finally hit us: the plain, boiled-down essence of why we distrust Obama. Despite all of our cute catch-phrases and sarcastic similes, the truth is we’ve seen him change his policies and positions whenever it benefits him to do so. There doesn’t appear to be any core belief holding up his positions, no anchor, no foundation. Like Gertrude Stein said about old Oakland, California, there’s no “there” there.
manolominx_byline

Think we’re kidding? Try these on for size:

He said he’d use public financing for his campaign when he didn’t have a lot of money. Then he reneged when he started raising tons of money privately.

He said he disapproved of offshore drilling, until supporting it helped him fight John McCain’s growing popularity on the issue.

He was a constitutional scholar, but voted for the FISA reauthorization act which gutted the 4th amendment and any shreds of privacy against government intrusion you had left, and giving AT&T, Verizon and the big telecoms immunity from lawsuits for spying on your every cell phone call, text and e-mail since the beginning of the Avignon presidency Bush II administration.

Obama said he represented a new, inspiring, transformational kind of politics free from the ugliness of the past. Then he used plenty of old-school Chicago dirty tricks to bully his way into winning the caucuses and blocking Clinton voters from primary polls, and he still pretended that he was above it all. (The people you’ll see on The Audacity of Democracy will make you cry about how this one.)

Now he’s proposing changes to the primary and caucus system, after he got everything he needed strong-arming the caucuses.

And, lest we forget, Obama said his candidacy represented hope and change. Well, he certainly didn’t break a sweat trying to change the virulent misogyny and sexism that were so acceptable as public discourse during this primary season. If he had, he might have given a glimmer of hope to millions of us who have been told to sit down, shut up and behave, rather than the valuable citizens, voters and experienced political trench workers we are.

Let me remind you, PUMAs: we ARE valuable. We ARE citizens. And we have the right and the moral obligation to call bullshit on the Democratic National Committee for enabling Obama in thinking he’s the second coming of JFK instead of the self-serving salesman we see. And if the powers that be won’t give us the respect we deserve, we’ll take it–and our 18 million votes with it.

oh please, that is the lamest oldest argument going ladies. Tell me you haven’t changed you mind about a position you’ve taken. that is all women do is change there minds, that is why men get so frustrated and leave to go the sports bars so we don’t have to listen to every thought that comes across your head while your chatting with your girlfriends.

I gave you your day off, now its game on.

in other news, the bush administration has set a deadline for withdrawl from Iraq in 2011 which shows that judgement has trumped experience once again.

You are not 18 million strong. You probably less than 100,000 strong. Most of that 18 million has moved on. I know, as I was one of them and I worked hard, raised money and had thousands of people to commune with. We are now backing Obama because he is the nominee. Do I wish it were different? Yes, but i’m a realist and that is how you change the world. Please stop believing you have 18 million behind you. The polls say no you don’t. It’s a ridiculous claim.

Good to see that BO’s paid bloggers are back earning their keep. By the way,do any of you work for ACORN, or are you paid by one of the front companies now under investigation for possible money launderng?

I don’t really want to fight with you-all, you probably are really enchanted with BO. He is the first black american to make it this far. I know our culture keeps telling you that it isn’t how you play the game, it’s whether you win or lose. That is just a t-shirt slogan. It is how you play the game, it is how you treat other people. Your ancestors knew that, be they black or white. Your ancestors built a country that was based on democracy, and treating other people with respect, be they black or white. If you haven’t learned these things yet, that is a shame, but you will eventually, and until then, go home and live others to their conversations.

If you want to stay and be part of the interplay, then draw on the best of what your mothers and fathers taught you, be they black or white, humility, understanding, respect, and thoughtfullness. If you want to take me on, feel free, I have learned those things.

The women I know don’t date ignorant, sexist assholes who think the statement I just quoted from you is funny. (We also like men who can spell.) Therefore, I find it hard to believe that you’re among that “we.” Nice try, t-bone, but you’re just not in our league. I hope you’re not referring to Obama making this judgement call. This Judgement is base on General Patreus assistment, not Obama, who would like to take credit upon someone’s accomplishment, which really are due to the surge. You can’t just make claim without substance T-bone, you guys are looking like idiots every time you open your mouth, and that’s a good thing for us who doesn’t sympathize the anointed one.

t-Bone, Nicki and Anna. Okay, so we are not large, not enough to make any difference…then why do you keep coming on this site and harrassing us instead of going to all the hate Hillary and bash HIllary and us over there?

As you all have pointed out; we are insignificant in number and won’t make a difference. Then quit whining, complaining, lecturing, and all the other things you do. We can and will make up our own minds – this is not our first election. Did someone harrass you and put you down to get your support for Obama? It’s Obama’s job to get our votes, not yours, and not Senator Clintons. So far he has failed, but when and if he changes my mind, I will let you know. But…I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s only one vote.

On MSNBC last night – Chris Matthews and DIane of PUMA — showed current poll numbers – if election held today: Hillary 49 and McCain 41 (Hillary has gained support since spring even tho she hasn’t even been campaigning!!) Obama and McCain was 45 – 43 (within margin of error and most importantly Obama’s been losing numbers and the gap is very narrow).

And this was MSNBC! Great clip to watch!

  39. anna said,

    on August 22nd, 2008 at 3:41 pm

Actually the reason I am here is because I saw Hardball yesterday and was appalled by Diane and the fact that Matthews gave this any airtime. I wanted to see what was really going on here. Now I’m not too concerned.

  40. anna said,

  41. on August 22nd, 2008 at 3:56 pm

In regards to: “that is all women do is change there minds”

You know Obama fits that pattern; maybe thats why he won’t show his birth certificate and why certain TV pundits get a warm feeling down the leg in “his” presence; maybe Obama was born a girl and had a change!

Anna, the problem with “stating your position = democracy at work,” blah, blah, blah, is that you weren’t invited to a debate. Trying to impose your will by turning this forum into a conflict of any sort is rude. Other than that, no problem. And that’s just MY opinion, since it’s not my blog.

  44. AnnieEm said,

    on August 22nd, 2008 at 4:22 pm

The reason Matthews gave Diane air time is because the MSM rats are beginning to desert the sinking ship that is Obama. The down ticket Dems will be revolting too because they’re uneasy about his jeopardizing their chances.

It’s amazing what a small two-month old grassroots organization has achieved with just a handful of really brilliant, gutsy, and ethical Pumas.

If you are going to go on air be prepared for some debate. What some are doing here is like high school. Seriously it is so appalling to me to see such ugliness directed at Obama. He may not be your choice and you certainly have the right to vote for whomever you choose but please, play fair. He won the nomination in the arena that is out political system. I hate the system but it is what we have. I doubt you are going to impact it at all. I’ll get back to you after the convention.

  47. on August 22nd, 2008 at 4:52 pm

t-bone if you have any interesting policy information to share I’d like to read it. senator obama is not entitled to my vote, he has to urn it. stop harassing people on this blog and that goes for you too anna. I pay the bills here, and I can end the vitriol when I see fit. this is not a public forum, so play nice. I have no problem with an honest policy debate, but needless pot shots solve nothing. they certainly won’t help your candidate glean any votes. you will not win anyone over by behaving uncivilly. have a nice evening. well observed points minx. thanks to the rest of you who have held down the fort while I have been traveling. you can catch me spoofing on the daily show next week. i am finally able to make appearances after the accident. i’m on the last leg of the trip to the mile high city (and on one leg). take care and be safe all— that goes for you trolls too, i wish you no harm. But be advised… No matter how many death threats I receive, and no matter how many horrid names you call me, I’m not going anywhere until we clean up the corrupt voting processes in this country. it is a disgrace.

Anna: I don’t see any hate here for Obama. I have yet to see anyone even post that they “hate” Obama. As far as debate, these ladies and gentlemen are well prepared for debate. The debate has been going on for quite a long time. I am sure you are an intelligent person and also experienced in politics. This is why it amazes and baffles me personally that anyone intelligent could actually fall for this past primary season and not be as out raged as we are.

  49. tbone said,

    on August 22nd, 2008 at 5:09 pm

riddle me this scl, why is only obama flip-flop info “valid” here? I have pointed out a number of hrc flops and not a single one was responded to.

democracy by its nature will disenfranchise the losers. it can’t be helped. hrc and o both had a fair shot the nomination. hrc came in the favorite and blew it by her own actions. for some reason you folks want to hold that against obama. princess touts “experience / lack of” as the culprit when she means the media, or mysoginy that she is all up in arms about.

this nomination is truly historical in nature. our party has nominated the first aa in history. he “earned” more delegates than hrc. she dismissed caucuses as important. she even considered skipping Iowa? that is just crazy and mismangement on her part.

so i find it hard to belive that “experience” is the reason folks are so upset here. no on, inlcuding me could name 5 things george bush accomplished as govenor of texas. its a ridicolous argument. so i can only conclude that your mad about the media, mysoginy, hrc ability to manage a quarter of a billion dollars or racism against o. which is it?

democracy by its nature will disenfranchise the losers.

I disagree. Manipulating the caucus, ignoring the voters voices, blocking Michigan and Florida is the act that disenfranchise the party before there was a Presidential nominee. These are the things that we saw, while you guys encourage it to your favor. This is not about democracy, this is about our separate way of thinking and what we hold true. You guys need to open your eyes instead of just saying we are the losers. Like it or not, we all have to live with the end result and as an American, there are no winner or loser when it comes to our country.

Princess, thank you for introducing Chris Matthews to truth and common sense.
Michael, thank you for your prayers. They’re inspirational and powerful.
T-Bone, thank you for your persistence. I thought you had been downgraded to T-burger, but don’t feel bad. The Repugs have now downgraded O to mincemeat so you’re in better shape than he is.
Thanks to everyone going to Denver:
Be safe. Be careful. Kick ass.

DON’T SPEAK FOR ALL DEMOCRATS, MICHAEL. You don’t know what ALL the Americans think. You don’t know what ALL Americans want. Clarify who you are speaking about. Be clear – - Speak for your Obama supporters and leave the Clinton Democrats out of it!! Yes, I said Clinton Democrats. You’ve heard of Reagan Democrats; you hear of McCain Democrats, well there are also Clinton Democrats/President Clinton, and the Senator. Your chosen one is not ready, and since he was selected by the party, did Obama really pick his VP or did the party pick the VP? Ted Kennedy perhaps, Daschle, Reid, Pelosi….? Say, maybe Biden picked himself? Your guy can’t punch his way out of a paper bag. If not for all the cheating and maneuvering and BS that went on, Senator Clinton would be the nominee.

Obama, never, never, never, never. Get it? Never!!

You need to apologize to Michael, t-bone.

why did the chosen one pick a vp who i everything thats he warned you about.

BO is weak, he needed someone to babysit him on his lack off which are many in that regards. Unfortunately, he has chosen an older version of his elitist image, just like Rev. Wrong and many others before Binder. This move is an acknowledgement to his lack of experience and confidence to run the office. He will be a puppet or as they say, an Uncle Tom. But who is to say, they want a 6.76% black president right? I much rather have Powell…..

Seems like a George Bush/Cheney move to me. That’s what GW did, didn’t he. Pick someone older, more experienced, and what good did that do? Makes me shutter even thinking about it.

Actually, I am relieved it wasn’t Senator Clinton. It would be hard to turn my back on her. Darn, I was hoping for the TX guy that was the deer in the headlights as VP. At least that would be funny.

You all really sound like a bunch of sore losers and high school girls. Sadly, we live in a nation where women grow up with your mentality. At least you are a small minority. I’ll take the movement I worked for in the 70′s over your brand any day. I was hoping for Hillary to be the VP but I doubt she really wanted that. She will have much more fun and challenge if she stays in the senate for a while. Meanwhile, I pray that John McCain is not our next president. We really can’t survive 4 more years of that for so many reasons.

Oh well, wishing you all some enlightenment about this whole thing. Politcs is a dirty and unfair business. It has gotten so out of control the last 7 years that more of the Republicans will bring total stalemate and more wars. A pox on John McCain.

Suit filed Thurs. in Fed. Court in Philadelphia – Obama constitutionally ineligible for presidency.

The lawyer (Philip Berg) who filed the suit said this in an interview yesterday:

“Sen. Obama really owes it to everyone to confront this. He should threaten me. “Berg,” he should say, “here are the documents and, if you do not withdraw the suit, I will sue you.” Right now, he has no basis to sue me. If he does have the documents, he should show them, and I’ll walk away. I’ll withdraw the case. But, again, he must show me a certified vault copy of his birth certificate and must show me a certified copy of the oath of allegiance taken between the time he was 19 to 21 at a Consulate, U.S. Embassy or the like. If those documents can be presented, again, I’m out of here. But I don’t think he can, I don’t think he will, and I think it is a total disgrace on his part.”

I think if Obama/campaign can’t produce these documents in 48 hours, Obama is toast, and DNC, etc. will be begging Hillary to be candidate.

now he picks as VP a 35 plus year member of the congress. Lest we forget, Biden ran for President in 1988 and LOST in the very early rounds. He vilified Anita Hill and royally screwed up the conformation hearings for Clarence Thomas.

He created and got passed the Violence Against Women Act. And although I was appalled by the Bankruptcy bill, he did manage to get an exemption in it to prevent child-support payments as being counted as income for single moms. I believe he will be the guiding force behind Obama and I trust and respect him. No matter how upset we are about Hillary, allowing McCain to win would be devastating to women, to families, to our nation, to the world. Please consider the big picture.

Jayne, this is the big picture: Let’s suppose that all politicians are more or less corrupt. That’s a given. HRC and McCain, however politically astute, can be trusted to put the best interests of the American people before their own self-interests. Obama has a scary Nixon-like component of egotism in his character. Even with respect to his own donors, he says he doesn’t care about them, he just wants their “checks”. I don’t see how anyone in good conscience could vote for this man for president. Country before party; character before self-aggrandizement.

That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness. They have lived a sheltered life by always giving in.” –

Punishing Michigan and Florida was wrong but Ms Clinton agreed to it. At the time she thought she had it locked up. She was the darling of the party and the media. Then people stared getting tired of being told who the winner was when a vote had not been placed. Obama caught on with the youth and disenfranchised – people who were tired of same old politics that both parties engege in. She looked more like the Republcans. Obama seemed different. The Clintons were arrogant in their attitude that they were the heir apparents to the White House. There was a backlash and her campaign under Mark Penn went on a rampage angering many because this was supposed to be the Democrats time to succeed and her campaign enabled the Republicans to hope. It is a shame because if these two had been on the ticket it would have been great. I did not care which one was president – haven’t we learned a VP can be very powerful? The big picture was to defeat the Republicans and then get the party in order. I say you are all obstructionists. You are sore losers and you do great harm. Hope you will be very happy when the Republican revolution is complete. Of course what do I know I supported Edwards.

Obama is so in their pockets. Do you know that Daschle has made all these investments in the corn ethanol plants? The ones that have caused world hunger. Even the inventor said it’s a bust of a project. Well, Daschle and Obama went all over together where these plants are. No wonder that Obama just wants to do “research” for alternative engery fuels. If we turned to nuclear again, and drilling….Daschle and all his other investors are going to be out of money big, big money. To have a patsy I guess you would call it in the White House, to protect this for you, you stand less of a chance of going under. There is a connection here…corn ethanol, Daschle and Obama. Kennedy….he refused the wind mills in his area of MA because they blocked his yacht from sailing around the sound up there. He scratched the idea which would have produced 1/3 of the energy in his area. He said, give it more “research”. So when I hear O say “research”, 150 billion dollars in research for alternative fuels??? What it means is nothing….I’m telling you, these people have got to go. And Senator Clinton, they don’t want her. She would kick them in their behinds so fast their heads would spin. And they know it. She would uncover this tangled web of the mortgage mess we are in. The corruption there is so deep.

I think what has happened in all of this…the party has woken up the sleeping giant…US!!

No, they didn’t expect it. They thought this thing would be wrapped up way long ago. They thought we would all faint and swoon because O has such a dynamic personality. Personally, I think he is sooo boring.

It was even said when he won those string of caucus/fraud victories, that the “party” predicted, we would not care about the issues; personality would out-weight “the issues” Well, they were wrong. They can’t play all of us like a fiddle. They underestimated the voting democrats of this country. This isn’t the first time the people have had to fight to retain the benefits of this great democracy, referred to by our founding father’s as the great experiment. And sadly it won’t be the last.

i have been posting these at the conflu this one is good enough to share:

Oh all I hope the heavens shake tonight and the ground beneath the DNC moves….because this is a real tent revival whip us up for the convention prayer:

    Creator Father Mother God/des

Merciful Creator we have over these last few months implored your divine wisdom to provide us with strength and protection. You have answered our prayers we are safe and we are strong and we are ready. Our legions are descending on Denver in rank and formation to do your will.

Creator unleash the sword of the almighty, sound the trumpets, let legions of Continental Principalities the spirit of Michael Slaying the Serpent the all those slumbering saints arise and go forth! The time has come the battle draws near join shield and present spear. Call forth the just and march to Denver the time has come.

We come out to face the enemy tyranny, injustice, greed and fraud every vice that infects the body politic, we are patriots calling forth the spirits of Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams writers of the Declaration of Independence because they believed in the importance of the word and their word went forth and made a just nation! May our words go forth also and free the land!

We call on you Creator to hear the litany of our adversary’s transgressions against the democratic process that we hold so dear. The shear multitude of sins against freedom shouts out like a testament against them.

They have manipulated the assignment of delegates and the order of primaries; they have run fraudulent caucuses with intimidation and voter suppression, they have stripped whole delegations for a number of the several states and then reassigned them at will; and on May 31st 2008 they silenced the will of the people to ensure their preselected candidate was chosen.

The souls of millions who have died for this land and for freedom cry out and will not be silenced. Their cry is an indictment against them. They demand justice for the blood they shed that it might not have been shed in vain. Here them Creator Father Mother God/des and answer their pleas. We their children, the children of democracy, demand judgment against the DNC and Obama of America.

Send down your wrath upon the oppressors of the children yearning to breathe free air and install our champion Hillary as the true voice of justice. She has been a faithful servant and has as always kept her word allowing those her tormentors to jeer and make sport of her for their own purpose.

If through their continued guile and cunning they should steal the prize so hard fought and won by our Hillary, give them no rest and let them find no place to continue their fraud. Reign down defeat on them like fire from the heavens. Give them no quarter and let them know they now are the hunted. Let them lament their misfortune that they should know they have been judged harshly for their turning away from their own principles for the sake of pride, power and greed.

Their plans turn them to dust and at their great assembly make burst forth from the heavens a deluge like has not been seen since the time of Noah. For the land where they make their boast on is parched and dry. Let your thunder be a testament against them and the lighting a judgment on them.
Creator give us justice for the land cries out for it and creationknows you are just. Do not let these usurpers prevail we your servants stand ready to do what is your call.

    Amen

tbone, your post 445 is full of sh*t. I am an AA female Hillary supporter. I’m sick of the racism charge. Want to explain to me how it is that 95% of AA are voting for Obama and that is not racist? The race-baiter in this election is Obama. Try this on for size.
Obama had won IA, lost NH, lost Nevada, and was desperate to win SC, otherwise his candidacy would have been in jeopardy because he risked being out of the race if he could not win a state with such a large black, democratic majority. At that point Hillary lead in the SC poll and had 65% black support. He had to pry those votes from her hands and he had a limited amount of time to do it. As a result he put into action his revolting racial strategy to rile up black people. Do you actually think the Clintons would under those favorable circumstances come to SC and conspire to make black people angry with race baiting talk and then expect them to go out and vote for Hillary Clinton?
Obama wrote memos to the media (Tim Russett confronted him with his campaign memo after the SC debate) saying the Clintons were playing racial politics regarding the following statements:
    1. Bill’s “Fairy tale” comment: Comment referred to Obama’s statements about the Iraq war in that he left out that he also said he did not know how he would have voted on the resolution had he been in the senate. Comment was said to be racially charged and referred to Obama’s campaign instead of his Iraq storyline. It’s well documented but as usual the media lied and did not show all of the quotation.
    2. Bill’s “Roll of the Dice” comment: He did not say that, Charlie Rose did. I watched the whole interview. Bill actually refused to agree with Charlie’s comment and rephrased his own response. Media lied and attributed comment as racial and did claim Bill said it.
    3. Bill saying in response to a reporter comments at 10:00 AM in front of a breakfast place before 99% of people had voted that yes Jessie Jackson won the SC primary and he named others Jessie won. Media cut out the context of the comment lied and said these comments were made after Obama had won the SC primary and Bill was trying to make Obama “the black candidate” by playing this race card. Without success, a black congressman, (Meeks) who was with Bill all day and night in SC tried to refute the story to the media.
    4. Hillary saying that in addtion to Dr. King it took presidential leadership (President Johnson) to ensure that Dr. King’s dream was realized by law. Media claimed she was demeaning Dr. King and by inference Obama.

Now you must understand that Obama fed these lies to the media. The proof is when Tim Russet confronted him at the next debate after SC. At first Obama tried to deny it but Tim said while “waving the five page memo in his face” something to the effect that: Sen Obama are you denying that you and your staff sent this 5 page memo to all the media outlets describing these things? Obama said something like well in a campaign we all are not proud of some things that are done. TRANSLATION: THE MEDIA MADE A FOOL OUT OF YOU ALL AND BLACKS ACROSS THE COUNTRY BY FEEDING LIES TO THE PUBLIC. That is the reason why Bill Clinton despises him. So, yes I do personally detest him for dishonoring the civil rights work that I (marched with Dr. King during my college days) and many others did, therefore I will never vote for him.

For these reasons, when Obama gives his speech at the convention on the anniversity of the civil rights struggle, Dr. King will not be proud instead he will be heartbroken and sobbing because he was a minister first. I too will be heartbroken and will never vote for Obama due to the evil he has wrought..

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning

    Commentary.

    My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees.. I don’t feel threatened. I don’t feel discriminated against. That’s what they are: Christmas trees.

It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, ‘Merry Christmas’ to me. I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a preacher, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ‘How could God let something like this happen?’ (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, ‘I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?’

In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said OK.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

    Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it… no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

    Ben Stein

More Democrats watch Fox than MSNBC and CNN combined. They had an opportunity to gain ground, and they gave it up to pander to BO and his crew. There is no way to undo what they have done, and it will not only show up in Nov., it will continue to bedevil them as the party falls apart. They have dumped their base, and are trying to replace it. HOw, with whom? Get serious.

They are having to spend the week, saying one thing, and realizing that they blew it, big time. Even the polls are showing their mistake. Oh well, we tried to tell them. T-BOne and friends… you are just an annoyance. A blip on history, democracy will eventually run right over you.

Here’s a quote from the NYT article:

“Frustrations abounded most pointedly for Mrs. Clinton: at a breakfast with New York Democrats on Monday morning, she was forced to rebut a new television advertisement for Senator John McCain that used her past attacks on Mr. Obama against him. And she faced questions about comments from Clinton friends that Mr. Clinton remained aggrieved from the bruising primary battle and was unhappy with his speaking assignment at the convention.”

Note the word “forced”. I hope Senator Kennedy will live long enough to see how he has destroyed this party. This whole scheme was devised by him.

I have been a staunch supporter of both Clinton and Obama since the beginning. Watching Elizabeth Joyce as a democratic representative on Larry King live tonight both sickened and angered me. She came off as a complete imbecile and her failure to answer Larry King’s questions with the exception of the “Senator Obama didn’t court me” response was childish and ludicrous. You could see it in his face that he was embarrassed to even be having a conversation with her. Politics are about backing representatives whose issues you believe in, not refusing to vote if someone doesn’t charm you personally. If McCain gets elected because of people like Elizabeth Joyce failing to vote for their political beliefs, they should not consider themselves democrats.

Well all I can say is Elizabeth Joyce made a fool of herself tonight. She described herself as just a little catholic girl. who didn’t get what she wanted so she is going to vote for McCain. You are by the way, far from being a girl, and you are an embarrassment to the Democratic Party. She has embarrassed the Democratic women all over the country. You think Obama has to earn your vote and you are threatening to vote for McCain if Obama doesn’t woo you. I really don’t care who you vote for but maybe it would be more mature to vote for our Democratic Nominee who has proven to be the person the democrats want to be our next President of the United States. I quess it isn’t important to you what kind of man McCain is… He is a man who has used his power to support George Bush in keeping this war going..a war that is killing thousands of our children, and making our country more hated then any other country in the world. By supporting them you are supporting this war where our children are being used only for the purpose of dying just to make money for George Bush, McCain and all of their rich friends who make money on oil and manufacturing products to keep the war going. Did you ever think that Barack Obama does not owe you anything, especially a private invitation to vote for him. It is your responsibility to educate yourself and vote for the person who will work for the issues that are important to you. Barack Obama is one of the most intelligent, honest man we have seen in politics in a long time. I would love to see a woman president and hopefully we will someday, hopefull in 8 years. Maybe it will be an African American woman. I just hope that your friends involve in this faction to overthrow Obama, would also not support an AA woman for President. That would be quite telling about who your are. Hopefully whether it is Hilary or another woman that runs next time for President, will have the same honorable characteristics of Barack Obama. Now please grow up and listen to Hillary, who shows the she is a great Democratic supporter by endorsing Barack Obama our Democratic candidate for the President of the United States and stop whining and threatening to vote for a man who will continue the war in the Middle East for another “100 years” and most likely before the end of the year invade Iran….. a man who will end abortion rights for woman. .. a man who will decrease the taxes for large corporations….. who will increase the debt of the United States to the point where our great great grandchildren will not be able to pull us out of the debt …. a man who does not care about the poor, about health care, about the common person. . .. a man who has never voted for support and health care and aid for veterans of war although he will use his time in captivity as an excuse for everything he has done in his life. You and your friends need to think about what is important now and move on.

Hi Elizabeth. I saw you on CNN tonight and had to find a way to contact you. I have a question. If Mr. Obama were to call you on the phone and ask you, dare I say, “woo” you for your vote would it change your mind? Honestly? From what you said during your interview, it seems to me your mind is made up and there is nothing he could do, short of moving aside for Hillary that would appease you. I’m sure you’re an intelligent woman and will make a decision come November. Good luck to you.

Mr. Obama has to show me that he is capable of more than winning contests. So far, nothing I’ve seen inspires confidence that he can. Being affiliated with a major party shouldn’t obligate a person to offer blind obedience. But since it seems that is the mindset of the Democrats, as well as their “At least we’re not the other guys” attitude, makes me very comfortable with my decision to re-register as an Independent. No one can tell me who to vote for. And, in my humble opinion, no one should even try.

But now I know why. If you can’t figure it out yourself…go put your apron on and bake a humble pie. This is a Political Party, not a tupperware party. Our judging by this bizzare website, maybe a lingerie party. I have voted Dem. since 1976. I believe in what this party represents. I saw Elizabeth Joyce on CNN this evening as well, and was dismayed by her behaviour, as well as that of some interviewed delegates on the floor of the pepsi center. This is a continuation of the same strain of virulent degradation of Barack Obama’s character as that woman who proclaimed that she “had had enough of Hussein” while exiting her state’s primary contest.

It’s based on racism, even if they aren’t aware they are being racist.

These people will continue to look for reasons to hate Barack Obama, regardless of anything else. You can debunk their beliefs about him, their own respected leader can appeal to their sensibilities as brilliantly as Hillary did in fact do this evening, and they still will refuse to accept him, a black man, as presidential nominee, much less president. It amazes me that even a small amount of those who claim to support such a magnificent public servant, civil rights advocate and powerful woman such as Hillary Rodham Clinton are unable to equate the plights of african-americans and women as one and the same. History would have been made by democrats this year had either candidate won, an important step for equality and progress the likes of which have never been achieved. People like Elizabeth Joyce threaten this achievement with their reluctance to accept what has come to pass. This is not Obama vs. Clinton anymore, and its not advancement of black people vs. advancement of women. But that one side would claim foul of the other so vehemently stands to allow status quo to deliver us 4 more years of no advancement at all. And, should these “Nobama’s” succeed in playing spoiler in Obama’s presidential run, a rift the likes of which has never been seen, and will never be repaired will open between black people and democracy in general, nevermind the democratic party. This could lead to a sucessive republican monopoly of the presidency, and if this comes to fruition, I ask any of you, what would the likelyhood be of having either a woman or a visible minority achieve presidency in the GOP? Chew on that.

Oh, and Elizabeth Joyce… Obama asks you everytime he speaks to vote for him. So do his supporters, including your idol, HRC. He simply doesnt have time to ask everyone personally, and I think you need to assess your importance in the grand scope of things to discern your need to be asked directly. You simply aren’t that important.

There is no point in discussing anything rational with these folks. After the display of over the line reaction and bizarre behavior I have seen on TV when some of these people are asked reasonable questions, I just have to shake my head. We live in a world with many unbalanced souls. They have serious problems and need mental health assistance. That one gal on Chris Matthews the other day that insulted him was really out of touch with reality. She kept changing her answer as he grilled her and then she told him to clean out his ears. What a piece of work. These people are not within the normal range of functioning. It really does take all kinds.

Racistism and prejudice are and always have been symbolic of sick people. Just because Hitler and the Nazis were defeated it doesn’t mean their kind still don’t exist. They do and sadly these people are of that mentality. Although I know Barack is a Christian, it doesn’t matter what anyone is. Religion is a right and a personal choice and Muslims, Jews, Bhuddists, Christians, etc. all have a right be free in the USA. Hello, what is wrong with them? They are SICK!

  389. Flowerchild2 said,

Yes, Boogie, they are just freaking out. From the little that I read, the one poster wants us to look deep inside our souls, and ask ourselves if we are not really voting for O because we are racist. Obviously, he/she looked deep inside their soul and found he/she was a racist so he is going to vote for the unaccomplished, inexperienced, Obama to just rip that racism right out of him/her. Then he will go to the altar of Obama, do his penance, and the light will come down on him/her, and in November, he will vote for Obama. I’m glad I’m not a racist, so I don’t have to go there.

  390. Flowerchild2 said,

and here comes another one. She says…”There is no point in discussing anything rational with these folks” …. and then rambles on with a long, long post spouting her views and even charging us with racism and prejudice, and even mentions Hitler? I am very glad that I will be among the
4,050,000 democrats who will not be voting for O in November.

As I said, do something useful, to to your local Obama campaign office and stuff envelopes.

So where do you obama supporters get off calling us racists? Really? So you don’t like me. Fine. You didn’t like Elizabeth Joyce on tv. Fine. (Like it or not, she represents lots of people who believe they were actively dissed as voters during the primary. You weren’t? Good for you. But plenty of us were, we were browbeaten and dismissed and belittled–never a good way to win over voters you need in the general, kiddies.)

But this “you’re all a bunch of racists” is bullshit. The fact that I don’t like the way my party treated me during the primary season is not proof that I’m a racist. The fact that I am reluctant to reward Howard Dean’s bad behavior does not make me a racist. You don’t know shit about what I have worked for, supported and stood up for in the rest of my life. The working-class communities where I’ve worked for the public good, including as many people of as many colors, shapes, sizes and backgrounds as I possibly could. The times I’ve made racists around me uncomfortable because I wouldn’t tolerate their behavior. So get stuffed.

And I think we’ve totally invoked Godwin here. Enough with the Nazi references. PUMAs, at least the ones I hang with, haven’t called for the wholesale beating of Obama supporters. I wish I could say the same for the kind of vitriol we’ve received from a select few Obama fans. If you really want us to come around to your way of thinking, you could start by stopping the Nazi comparisons and policing among your own a bit better. The more I’d see that, the more I’d be inclined to forgive the party I’ve beloned to for ages for shitting all over me this year.

However, I will agree with Nikki on one thing. It shouldn’t matter one bit what religion a candidate is, or is not. I’ve said that before publicly (I think) and privately (I know). The intermixing of religion and politics is always trouble.

    Thanks, boog :-)

I finally reviewed all of Hillary’s speech from last night. If Obama, his supporters and the DNC power brokers had been as gracious, inclusive, respectful, and focused on the nuts and bolts of why we’re dems as she was in her speech last night, they’d have had my vote locked up ages ago. If they took the decisive action Heidi Li recommends at this post, hell, I might still have room to be convinced.

BTW, I’m going to defend Michelle Obama from the inevitable “smirking” charges she’ll face. The first few cutaways C-SPAN did appeared to show her with a less-than-happy expression. After I saw several other shots from various angles, including ones in which she was clearly happy, it looks to me that her expression just reads that way on camera. Maybe it’s the particular angles in her face and those extraordinary cheekbones–I’d say I could kill her for those cheekbones but I don’t dare lest I be accused of supporting lynching. Why am I defending her? If I’m a feminist, I’ll defend women against b.s. criticisms that men in their positions wouldn’t face.

If he fails, and I believe he will, we won’t see a woman, or a minority candidate for another 200 years. And what that will do for our party…we will get locked out just as we did after the Carter Administration. After President Clinton, the dems finally got some credibility. Now that the numbers are no longer in your favor, it becomes necessary to humiliate yourself from the point of begging for our votes or decide to play nice, as if we are deprived of attention and intellect. Nice try! but I think it’s to late for that.

Perhaps and hopefully, now you guys understand that it wasn’t very wise to say, We don’t need them hack! we can win without them” that wasn’t long ago and everyone here remember those bitter words and the insults are still lingering on this blogs and many others.

Senator Clinton is an intellectual woman whose judgement I can trust. Her friendship of John MacCain speaks volume of the man character and their respect for each other despite of the differences in views, which are not many, is something to consider. She was magnificent last night for sure, even when it hurts. However, she made her choice and I think she realized that we are capable of making our choice as well.

I think it’s the example that’s been set..if it’s okay to accuse a former President of racism; if it’s okay to muscle down, degrade, ridicule, and demean a Senator running for President, then that sends a signal to use those types of tactics on the voters.

So what you are saying is that Hillary is full of sh*t

If you are a woman, and you support Hillary and you believe in Hillary, then you must now understand that it is time to lay down your arms. Listen to her. She wants you to vote for Barack Obama, with every breath of her being. Did she fight for all of you for nothing?

She asked you if you were “just supporting me, or were you supporting that young marine…” and all of the causes that Hillary as been fighting for her entire life. Are you going to let her down? Are you really going to vote for John McCain or anyone other than? It will have to be a secret, because if Hillary finds out, she will be very disappointed in you.

And keep this in mind: Joe Biden created the Violence Against Woman Act and John McCain voted against it.
Put your passion along side Hillary’s and get out the vote for Barack Obama!

  452. Sebastian Knight said,

    on August 27th, 2008 at 4:52 pm

If you’re not Republicans, you’re certainly their tools:

Hillary Clinton lost the nomination because she ran a bad, uninspired campaign. Period. Just like just like Al Gore in 200 and John Kerry in 2004. She had EVERY advantage — from the support of most of the party establishment to a 30-point lead in the polls only six months ago. She didn’t articulate one clear, original vision for the future of the country. Universal Healthcare is wonderful, but every Dem running for President endorsed that idea.

The reason people gravitate to Obama is simple: We understand that a political resume — and John Kerry’s was far longer and more impressive than Hillary’s — doesn’t win elections. More importantly, in doesn’t guarantee good judgement. It’s the person, stupid. Hillary voted FOR the Iraq War. A calculated decision to look strong on National Security. She was wrong. Obama, meanwhile, spoke publicly against it.

As for people who say that Obama can’t win, and that Hillary would have a better chance against McCain: You’re delusional. There is no figure in politics that inspires more vitriol among conservatives than Hillary Clinton. You want to see real party unity? See what would’ve happened to the GOP if they had to go against Hillary. Hardcore evangelicals and agnostic Liberterians would’ve been standing arm in arm to see her lose.

Finally, let’s once and for all dispense with the myth that Hillary is so experienced, shall we? She has one (1) more term as a Senator than Obama. Before that, she was First Lady — not an appointed or elected office. As Chris Rock says, he’s been married to his wife for 8 years, but it doesn’t make her good at telling jokes.

I respect the hell out of Hillary Clinton, but she should’ve voted her conscience (against the war). She should’ve run a campaign that took some risks and articulated real, original ideas. Instead, she played it safe and — like Kerry — lost because of it.

Barack Obama is not the second coming. Like Hillary, he is a politician. But he has an essential skill that neither Hillary, Gore, nor Kerry possessed: The ability to forcefully respond to criticism without taking it personally — or personally attacking his opponent. The last politician with that skill was Bill Clinton. And we all know what happened there.

sure, i can tell you. he’s a politician. he knows that biden’s credibility as foreign policy expert is necessary and helpful. that’s how it works. it’s called being pragmatic. biden was wrong about going to war, absolutely, but he may be the only one of the former candidates that has deep knowledge of the dynamics of the shiite/sunni/kurd divisions in iraq. that’s valuable. beyond that, one important role of the VP candidate during the campaign is to go after other party’s nominee so the presidential candidate can talk about the issues. to this day biden still has the best, most effective line against guiliani when he was the front-runner: “a subject, a verb, and 9/11, what else has this guy got?”

Oh, do you want somebody to be Pres. who signed an agreement, Re: Michigan,Florida, then reneged on it in her pathetic attempt to gerrymander a greater, meaningless… aaaObama wasn’t even on Mich. ballot, popular vote. Oh, on the subject of cheating, Ms Hillary SIGNED the agreement regarding Mich. & Florida. Then goes and tries to count the votes to claim nomination based on basically, fraudulent info. That right there cost her all respect she had garnered, in more ways than you can imagine. Political career over and out..and you are kidding yourselves if don’t think so. She made a mockery of the campaign process and allowed McCane(sic) to gain traction. So please all of don’t pull a ralph nader on us…that brilliant “I will show you” stradegy gave us Bush instead of A Gore. Imagine the last 8 years w/Gore instead of Bush. we “invaded” your website because we were sitting in our living room, watching larry king…..then this….elizabeth joyce came on…..and….wow….it was nauseating listening to her.

“he has to court/woo me”- I’m sure he would love to, but he is married and I don’t think he has enough time in a day to go “court” each and every voter in the country. I don’t think hillary has that kind of time either. btw, I’m surprise anybody still uses that word…..’court’.

“I don’t just give my vote on a first date”- ??? are you for real??? this would be really cute if this was a boy/girl, dating thing. sounds like me and my girlfriends talking about guys and dating.

I’m sure your clinton supporters will defend you no matter what anybody says, but I bet they cringed…..just a little….watching you on larry king last night…..unless you guys are all like that.

and when you said obama never asked for your vote, larry king said……”is that not what obama does everytime he speaks?”. that’s what clinton does, too. then elizabeth acknowledges she only listened to obama speak once.

the way she sounded on tv….. doesn’t it make you feel like she’s waiting for obama to drop by her place and ask her out? I mean…..’court’ her?

and then she said a big reason why she’s throwing a tantrum was because of the treatment she received by obama’s group during the campaign trail. hmmmm……there was a competitiion going on and one goal. were you guys nice to the other side?

don’t know if anyone notices, but say something negative here about clinton supporters, and you get threatened by hireheels to be kicked out of this site because she pays the bills here. but…..clinton supporters can knock, bash, insult, offend all they want. and then they correct people’s grammar when they should be looking at their own entries. hypocrites.

we’re not on your site to rain on your parade. we just happened to have caught elizabeth on larry king and wanted to fall off our chairs. and while she’s not really answering any of larry king’s questions, she’s got this weird smile thing going on. smile. don’t smile. look agitated. fake smile again. that was strange.

Thanks for your comments spin. Try doing a blind interview sometime when you can’t see (because there is no monitor) or barely hear the interviewer. I could have said that Senator Obama lacked the experience to lead our country/ be commander and chief, that his nomination was a selection by fraudulent means (which is what Mr. King wanted by the way). I did not follow the Republican’s lead, I tried to leave the door open for a bridge, obviously you and those like you continue to wash that bridge away. I have seen Senator Obama speak more than once, but only once live. His speech on that occasion was not impressive, but I look forward to his speech tomorrow night. It is his job now, not Senator Clinton’s; she did her piece. Although the democratic party no longer needs us according to Ms. Brazille. Congratulations to Senator Obama on what we realize is a historic occasion for our country.

Obama remains a flimsy little demagogue (look it up in the dictionary, obots) who won by rigging the primary. Mccain at age 70-something has already smacked O down and that’s going to continue until the GE or until he has the decency, the concern for dem policies, and good sense to turn over the race to the other adult, Hillary. He blew it.

ok girls and guys @ hire heels its time for fuzzy’s plan “b” i am floating this as a trial balloon here:

    Its operation given the finger:

OK I hope this is the time we need to get murphy or RD or even someone to help me…ASAP we need to start a:
“DRAFT HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT 2012″
fund or organization-NOW so we can start writing checks-On November 5th!

The only way to stop a REPEAT OF THE SHAM IN 2012 is to have a warchest of $ 250-500 million!

It would infuriate the DNC to have to run a campaign this fall if we run a parallel fundraising campaign for 2012 it would show the DNC in a material way that we PUMA/JSND Alliance members have written off Obama/Biden 2008 and have “MOVED ON” and “GOT OVER IT” just not in the way they wanted.

We need to also run a non-violent peaceful campaign of non-cooperation with the DNC at the same time.

We need 18 million Hillary supporters to look far ahead to 2012.

We need to have our game plan in place so on September 1, 2011 our campaign fund with $ 250 -$ 500 million plus dollars foces us a place at the table.

Think $ 2300/42 months is $ 54.76 per month is what it works out to. I think poor ol’me could do it!

It may not be good to start this fund raising this fall but we should have the mechanisms in place for a start on November 5th 2012.

I do not think a Draft Hillary Committee even needs Hillary’s cooperation. One thing I did learn form Obama was Money Talks!

I hope I can get some help here for this….

    What does anyone think?

Is there anyone besides myself who do not see any connection whatsoever, between high heeled shoes for women and being upset about some political election?…….anyone who would vote based on “shoes” doesn’t deserve to enjoy the privilege of voting, period.

Politics is a rough and tumble playing field amd HILLARY certainly kept up a long hard battle, she almost, almost actually pulled it off. However, there can only be ONE winner – she simply didn’t receive as many delegates to win, so she lost. Being RICH, was what kept HILLARY in the race but, I find it offensive that RICH PEOPLE who gamble their own money for some reason feel it’s perfectly reasonable to ask people to give her even more money, so she can pay off the loans she made to herself.

Many other candidates, when the money runs out, so does their campaign. RICH PEOPLE, like Romney, Perot and HILLARY can keep their campaign going to the bitter end, by spending their own millions.

Barrack supporters do not owe HILLARY a single dime, period. It would be very NICE if some Obama supporters wrote checks to HILLARY, to pay off her millions of loans she gave her own campaign from her own wealth but, if she thinks many are going help a millionaire regain millions that they could afford to gamble, gamble it, lose the gamble then have the NERVE to ask others to give them the money they lost on their personal gamble, is absolutely INSANE……RICH PEOPLE THINK DIFFERENTLY THAN THE REST OF US, I suppose.

Don’t worry, in time, you’ll get another opportunity to vote for a female Clinton, perhaps even for the office of PRESIDENT, – what do you think they are grooming Chelsea for a career in…????????

Brilliant, rey. Simply brilliant rebuttal. I guess your political science skill sets and communication talents lead you to present yourself so eloquently as to say, “stfu”…….hahaha…….thin skin, rey, thin skin……

Rey, let me ask you a simple question? Do you realize that HILLARY earned hundreds of thousands of dollars per year for many years, for sitting on WALMARTS board of directors? This was during time line window, while WALMART was agressively sourcing cheaper product from 3rd world countries, helping to ship American manufacturing jobs overseas permanently, hile having the gall to market products from China, for instance, with RED WHITE AND BLUE colors as if they are US OF A manufactured products. WALMARTS massive expansion and overseas sourcing has contributed to hundreds of communities losing locally owned shops due to WALMART invading and stealing the locals shoppers through price competition. WEvery time, WALMART would change theface of the town they entered. HILLARY, sat on WLAMARTS board, got rich with huge sums of pay as well as enjoyed a substantial wealth from stock options and the the like.

Do you realize how many American WOMEN lost jobs and only offered lower paying jobs with NO HEALTH COVERAGE, because WALMART was the only jobs now available since WALMART opened up and resultantly local businesses closed. Do you realize that? Do you know that she became RICH because of her time with WALMART? Isn’t that kind of self serving of her?…..

Just curious. It’s easy to get caught up in an election, even caught up in a candidate but, most candidates have a HISTORY that can be researched?,,,,,Did you ever look back and research HILLARY’s past employment history. Do you remember, the Monica Bill fiasco was the conclusion of a investigation over a land deal of HILLARY”s where people LOST money, yet she MADE MONEY……?????

I’m just curious, how much brainwashing goes on, or do people actually take the time to keep involved over LONG periods of time and remember the history behind the candidates as they float through the careers………

Doyou realize Biden has Son’s fighting in our middle eastern wars? I didn’t see Chelsea run to the recruitment office and sign up to fight after our country was attacked. Biden’s son’s are in the line of fire……for that matter, so does John McCain…….HILLARY, no family in the line of fire……???? do you know that?????

EDUCATED YOURSELF…..READ MULTIPLE SOURCES, and MAKE YOUR OWN REASONED EVALUATION AFTER GETTING SEVERAL INPUTS OF INFORMATION……..TRUST BUT VERIFY……

    just a tip,

Good luck Rey, and I hope you ffind a more eloquent fashion to express yourself but, that’s your choice……STFU, hahahahaha, that’s about the extent of the POST RATIONAL HILLARY SUPPORTERS wanting to be courted and dated for their votes now….hahahaha……wake up, rey, you now have two valid choices…….BARRAK or JOHN…….vote JOHN you are voting against WOMEN’s RIGHTS and voting against your own self interests. However, whatever you feel you want, do……it’s that simple…….

Rey, Elizabeth was HORRENDOUS on larry king last night. Larry kept asking reasonable questions and all Elizabeth did was make statements about “NOT VOTING ON A FIRST DATE” type of irrational comments of such type. Elizabeth even stated ON AIR, that she expected a lot of “nasty email tomorrow”…….
Who says something like that, unless deep down they know the position they are representing is not a popular point of view and ruffled feathers will make their views known.

Isn’t that EXACTLY why Elizabeth Joyce went on larry king in the first place? To state her point of view? Elizabeth even provided the web site address, so why is it surprising to Elizabeth, or to members of this site, that in fact people came to the web site SHE promoted on a national program and stated their points of view in reply to her appearance.

Duck and get out of the line of fire, or expect to be fired upon. Elizabeth was well aware of what response she has received. Personally, opposing opinions being posted are far an away more constructive, detailed and well thought out, than any of the HIREHEELS gang have given us in return.

Do you only want a ONE sided opinion, without a single naysayer to stand up and state their views in kind? It’s called a CONVERSATION, give and take…….

Respect is EARNED, not demanded…..respect is commanded through earning respecting others as you would like them to respect you.

If you truly RESPECT HILLARY and support her personally as well as professionally, then you must hear what she is now saying over and over. If you supported me, than it’s time to start supporting Obama so that john McCain does not win. Hillary even listed in detail all the various issues effecting women and the potential negative effect of a Republican victory, including ROE/Wade (can you say back alley abortions?) Mother’s son’s lives in the line of fire of a irrational Iraq war, a war of choice forced upon our nation by the republicans through the manipulation of keeping american in FEAR? Do those mother’s who son’s and daughters have died, were severely wounded or lost limbs want their children in a massive mistake resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths? Is that what Mother’s want from their President?

Now go watch Bill give his speech and enjoy HILLARY’s husband, our former president.

Hey, Rey…….you make my points for me better than I could ever myself. Thank you.

Look in the mirror Rey, look in the mirror. you can’t answer a direct question with an on topic direct response. just Shut the 8888 up……amazing…..go get an education, Rey, it might help you state your points of view so that the world that surrounds you hears intelligence rather than a potty mouthed sourpuss…..

I’m loving life, doing my thing and happy Hillary didn’t win, I’m sick of this country being goverend between two familys, rather than two parties……bushclintonbushclinton….that’s what happens to the governments of 3rd world nations like Africa, the soviets, natzi’s etc…….it was time to break free of both the bush family and the clinton family in the white house…….

    Good riddance…..

However, if hillary was the better candidate and held stronger policy positions, I might have voted for her but, she never gave me any reason to vote for her, other than an air of “it’s supposed to be mine” wha wha wha……..

Obama is going to be the start of a long climb out of the dark valley our country sits in due to the two Bush terms….Let’s wish OUR country well and hope for the best…..I support OUR COUNTRY, not a party nor an individual candidate – ,,,,,,,,,,nor gender……

BTW – try using go suck and egg, just for a change in pace from STFU….hahahahahahahahaha

Rey, you are wrong again…….if we were face to face, I would fully engage and debate anyone……education, command of facts and yes respect for those who may not agree with you on all issues.

Rey, you wanted a woman president, didn’t happen…so, what? is that MY fault?.,,,,are you discharging your disappointment and anger inappropriately towards someone who isn’t afraid of the discussion. POLY SCI MAJOR< can you read that…….I bet you don’t realize I owned my own California corporation successfully built it into handling over 25 million in annual sales, sold out and can now enjoy making music……Don’t judge any book by it’s cover……I’m 43, I wasn’t born yesterday and you are not the first irrational female, or male for that matter, PERSON, that I’ve faced off against.

Screaming and yelling and holding your breath till your face turns blue, isn’t going to change the fact, that HILLARY lost……your dynamics are similar to a 3rd grade recess…..no I’m not, you are, no I’m not you are……opps, tiime for an afternoon nap so I don’t get cranky….

    ahahahaha

I assure you, Rey, face to face, the out come would be identical…..I just hope you don’t succumb to hitting me over the head with your high heels, out of intellectual frustration…….other than that, no, I would say the same things in the same manner and wouldn’t accept swearing in a rational debate……..if you can’t respect yourself and your presentation to the world, don’t expect anyone to respect you either…….

You know my site, you kow how to contact me…..go right ahead…..threats are meaningless…..facts, reality and truth are the only critical factors…..from the sounds of it, you really didn’t know about HILLARY working for WALMART, nor did you realize BIll’s Monica affair problems came to be because of an investigation over one of HILLARY”s land deals, it’s called WHITE WATER and you can google it and read up on it, because HILLARY’s skirts are far from pure white, Rey….sorry to dissappoint you…..

God bless and I hope you can find a way past your internal demons and outward anger…..lashing out from frustration will get you no where and hlep you lose respect from those you do not wish to lose their respect……..personal choices, all of them….do as you wish, it’s a free country..

it’s amazing that obamatrons are as vitriolic as ever, despite the rigged “win”. when hillary referred to ‘dogs’ in her speech, i suspect she was alluding to the media and some of the foaming-at-the-mouth obama supporters.

thank you, keith, for recognizing that it’s a free country. i thought that was the first idea eradicated at camp obama.

while all politicians are more or less corrupt, by the time the repubs are finished with obama, he’ll be featured on “america’s most wanted” . he’s a dream come true for republicans. as far as war opposition goes, did any of you raise a fuss when pelosi took impeachment off the table. oh, that’s right, obama needed pelosi for strong-arming the delegates. so we’ll let a few more young people die and be maimed for the sake of supporting obama, the ‘anti-war when it’s convenient’ candidate.

  509. boogieman7167 said,

but i guess that was asking to much.
    my bad

  510. on August 27th, 2008 at 10:54 pm

Your question, I ignored because you called me kitty keith….I thought that must have been the pussy under your love seat, how was I to know you were addressing me?……

I personally was for Biden from the start, and not Obama…..and R\on Paul is just as frank and in command of the issues as someone like me, though I would have a hard time voting republican to support him. What I find encouraging about Obama, is that his background is as a constitutional scholar. Our country has strayed so far off the map of our constitution, to the point of illegal dissemination of propaganda domestically, and the the domestic wiretapping is flat criminal….

Barrack is the only candidate who gives me hope that his respect for the constitution gives air to the potential of trying to work hard to get our country back to honoring our own laws, starting with the constitution……Otherwise, look at russia and you can see what future a lawless government will ultimatley drag America down to……it’s time to RESPECT THE LAWS, ITS TIME TO RESPECT THE CONSTITUTION…..IT”S TIME TO RESPECT YOUR ADVERSARIES and realize, ultimately WE are ONE and ON he SAME TEAM….Team USA…….

Hillary was never in contention for my cote, I just have never taken to her, ever, though the best prosperous years of my adult life was during Bill’s two terms. Al Gore was whom I was hoping would come to the party but, he learned that politics requires to much daily abuse….and look at what he’s doing now……NOBLE PEACE PRIZE and leading the charge on trying to save the atmosphere of our planet, so all living beings can survive man’s abuses to the panet…….AL, was my man….

Obama came out of no where and only first heard about him at hte DNC covention of 2004,,,,,I though considering OSAMA bin LADEN, Barrack Obama wouldn’t have a chance ….but his speech at the convention inspired me to keep a eye on him and just take note of his positions…….

So, while you seeminly BOOGIE MAN, are trying to paint me as a rabid Obama supporter, its just not the entire truth……I voted him and glad he won but, there would be no way I would be goiingg on larry king acting like an uneducated idiot whining about Obama losing…….

    Elizabeth did.

RATIONAL DEBATE is constructive….not destructive……how people like Rey and even yourself, BOOGIE MAN, use insults and refuse to address issues, is beyond me…..particularly the day after going on national TV and promoting your site as a place for reasonable discussion. I have yet to see much reasoning here in how I:VE BEEN TREATED HERE TODAY, but I wasn’t out on national TV responding to questions as if they were stoned and heard an entirely different question than what was actually asked……..

SO, get off my back, if you can’t even address how HILLARY is in bed with multinational corporations and sat on the board of WALMART, then you really don’t know you won candidate….it’s like you’ve been brain washed and individual though is beyond your capabilities, though rash quick insults are pre-programmed into the collective being of this site…….

SO, did I answer you direct question, BOOGIE MAN, or is there something you would like to have better detail on….????

  511. on August 27th, 2008 at 11:08 pm

the question —–how is Biden a change……..

I have said nothing about new and change…..I’ve been talking about the CONSTUTITION…remember, BILL AS PRESIDENT HONORED THE CONSTITUTION BY PERJURING HIMSELF UNDER OATH………that’s not respect…….

I support the constitution……and all the women here, you better get aquinted with that document, because you din’t have voting rights until the sufferjets forced an amendent to allow females to the right to vote………

So, For me, it’s always has been and always will be the constitution…..

as for Biden, the guy earned my respect from deacdes of service to our country. You don’t realize how many advantages you and yours enjoy today, because Biden worked his butt off and made it happen……

Imagine serving as long in congress as Biden has, and commuting into washington daily by rail…combined with the tragic death odf his first wife, and being a single father for five years while still commuting to Washington by rail so the surviving kids would have the best chance to recover from losing their mother at such a young age……He’s survived two brain operations and wow…..what energy he has in his six decade old body…..He’s got the gift of charm and has always been on the side of AMERICA over the side of the DNC……..

He’s been personally tested in ways that most people have no concept of, and came out smelling like a rose…..he did it……losing a young bride has destroyed many men…..it made Biden stronger……that’s a man, living up to his responsibilities and doing whatever it took to get the job done……

Biden is going to be fantastic in an administration, hopefully in January, his git of gab is a treasure chest to re build foreign relations……..and he will be an true asset to Obama, as he leans the ropes to how an administration should be ran. I see the two of them as a great partnership, better than BIll/Gore…

    so, BOOGIE MAN

this post is to the normal, rational people who visit this site. I just don’t have time for the fools anymore.

We knew this was probably going to be the end result. It doesn’t change anything. We all had good reasons for not supporting bo in the first place, and those reasons haven’t changed. If anything they have gotten stronger.

All that happened was that we got to see Hillary being very presidential one more time, and whether it was all politics on stage, or whether she truly wants a Dem in the white house that badly… she was a good sport. She did what she said she would do, and now it is time for us to do what we said we would do.

I still have my Hillary pin on my pack, it may stay there for four years or so, don’t know, yet. But it is a wonderful way to start conversations, and privately, with the talking points we all know so well, tanking bo moves along.

It is hard for Dems to get all this into their heads, so you have to take your time, and allay their fears. By the time you get to leaving the party now, because the party has changed too much, you’d be surprised how many are there with you.

Three today, two the day before. Every day or so a couple more, and in Nov. it will be the way we said it would. He can’t win, because that is the worst choice for this country. I will do what I can to protect my country, and if this is what it takes, okay. The Reps will have to take care of voter fraud, and all that, I don’t have the connections to watch bo and his henchmen behind the scenes.

Personally, I wish that McCain could take Carly , but I think a VP without elective history would be a problem. Hillary in 12, its only four years.

Good job keith. I too am on this wack job site due to ms joyces appearence last night. I have never heard such drivel in my life. You all talk as if obama pulled some sham, as I posted before and recieved no response, let me reiterate. Ms. Clinton is the one who tried to pull a fast one. 18 months ago the dnc told mich. and florida would not be valid if chose to change there polling days. Mich/florida went ahead anyway and they were sanctioned. The dnc required all prospective candidates to sign an agreement that the respective states would not be counted. Everybody signed. Now hillary at the time was 15-20 points ahead, so she just signed. 15 months later, and new campaign staff hillary became shrillary and went groveling for the votes of the 2 respective states. She went back on her word. A signed agreement…she turned against her own party.

So everybody put away those pipe dreams of 2012…her political career is over. Here is a little tid-bit. Had Shrillary won the nomination, as we speak J-mc would be running adds pointing out the fact how can we select someone who goes back on her word, who signature/word means nothing. They were filmed, time was bought, and shrillary would be spending her crowning moment thursday evening trying to defend the fact that she can’t be trusted/her signature is means nothing. And that would be the beginning of 4 months of consstant mantra…she can’t be trusted….can’t be trusted…et al; ad naseum.
She is dead in the water on the national scene. This will never go way. I work in this field. Trust me. And no, I don’t work for any candidate. Just dem party.
Obama is the right choice, and I know for a fact that J-mc was salivating at the chance to unleash this add campaign. So maybe you way toohighheelers should count your blessings that shrillary wasn’t hoisted on her own petard..only to reveal that the “empress has no clothes…”
Anyway it is going to be a busy 4 months, with much to write.
So to all the Shrillaryites I bid adieu, and if you can’t find it in yourself to vote for Obama as your leader has requested…just write in Gloria Allred for Pres. She will fit in with all you slighted women.
2016…2nd chance for for Mr. Gore…

Well, they totally ignored this state, Boogie. I mean we couldn’t even have a campaign office here. The only ads we saw were on the news when the news talked about one. And Obama cheated on that too. HE showed his ads here for two weeks prior to our primary and he still lost. It was all preplanned today; stop the vote at a certain point. I never saw anything like that before. Your not a zero in our eyes, Boogie. You were the precinct captain weren’t you. At least they mentioned your state when they showed the map.

Well, I’ve been catching the reruns of all of this. The surrogates all powerful to help Obama. He needs too much help. That’s a big red flag. Another red flag… The Republicans have been way too quiet. An ad here or there, and some were actually clever and funny. But if they could destroy Kerry, who was in my opinion a great candidate, military background, long record in the Senated, wanted McCain to run with him…..can you imagine what they are going to do with Obama?

The only points I really heard from Elizabeth were superficial, whiny, opinions. She sounded like someone who didn’t get enough hugs when she was a kid. I’m a realist and by not supporting your party’s candidate you are effectively supporting the opponent. If it’s to prove a point, we all understand – you’re special. If it’s because your mad about Hillary not clinching the nomination, we all understand – eat a pint of ice cream and chill out. Stop living inside of a bubble and equating Obama supporters with Obama the person. I don’t equate Hillary supporters with Hillary herself. I don’t know what else to say. Barack Obama was seated next to a little girl on an airplane He turned to her and said, ‘Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.’

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to Obama, ‘What would you like to talk about?’

‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said Obama. ‘How about What Changes I Should Make To America ?’ and he smiles.

‘OK, ‘ she said. ‘That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass . Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a ho rse produces clumps of dried grass.
Why do you suppose that is?’

Obama, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, ‘Hmmm, I have no idea.’

To which the little girl replies, ‘Do you really feel qualified to change America when you don’t know shit ?

Hillary Can’t Fix What Her Party Broke
    By Froma Harrop

    Here’s some quotes:

Democrats had turned on fellow Democrats, and although the arrows flew in all directions, the nastiest of the invective fell on the ladies who loved Hillary. That these loyal Democrats had been targeted made them nuts.
How strange that anyone writing for a political site would be smeared for backing a candidate of the same party. If the Democratic leadership had any sense of self-preservation, it would have shunned creepy bloggers and those who provided their forum. Instead, it hailed them as voices of the new generation.

The Democrats clearly have a hooligan problem. It was as though their left-wingers suffered a kind of Karl Rove envy. They wanted to go on the attack, demonize a Clinton and hurl abuse at the Clinton’s friends. Only a year ago, Vanity Fair ran a cover story on how Clinton hatred had infected much of the right wing. The left seems to have grabbed the baton. And it apparently did not dawn on the Obama shock troops that they were offending the very people their man might someday need

The Rovian right never made that mistake with non-candidates. It reserved its thuggery for people who would never vote for a Republican.

You’ve come on here with your hate, your name calling, and you invite everything you get, which in comparison is really mild. Clinton supports have been followed, attacked, old people have been targeted. T-bone, there must be some form of goodness in you? Some form of a sense from right and wrong. These people, including myself, worked to get our candidate nominated. No one attacked you, no one followed you or hunted you down. It’s thuggery, t, accept it. We all kept warning you…the more you abuse, the more we will never vote for your candidate. Your candidate is unworthy of the office of the President; he has led you all in a new direction – a direction of violence. Sorry t-……for a grad of Mac, I am very disappointed. I am from the twins too T. U of MN, College of Education. And I am very disappointed that a college as fine as Mac has not instilled in you a sense of balance, fair play, and at the very least a love for democracy and freedom. the gop politicians and polices are a disgrace to this country. a vote for mccain or a non-vote is a vote to continue the bush adminstration, which has been the the most corrupt and inept presidency in modern times.

this is what you and this site are advocating. so if im not open minded about it or i ridicule you and the gals, i’m not sorry about that one bit. any violent or threatening action is not coming from me.

hillary cost herself the election. it wasn’t stolen or manipulated away from her. she would have gotten all the credit if she won so she gets the blame when she lost. i’ve said time again, if we would have seen the hillary we saw the other night, she would have won hands down.

Racial threats on the blogs, screaming whitey we are going to get you, and massah, and absolute hate of white people. All unleashed by Obama. You go back and read the comments by Wisewoman. In all fairness, I actually think T-bone is rather mild in comparison to the majority. What’s not in reason, is the onsluaght of abuse that we have endured since this site has been published. The behavior of the Obama supporter is not unacceptable in our society’s standard, yet it’s exercise here in the Blogosphere, uncheck. This is not something that you would encourage others to do unto you or your family, yet you guys are enjoying every minute of it. Doesn’t it paint a picture of your character and what you are supporting? You guys can think of our reason as nave but, that’s your opinion and your constitutional right and we honor that as painful as it may be. However, some folks here may still be undecided of how they will cast their vote but, comes November, we will show you how weak we are.

  605. doug said,

    on August 29th, 2008 at 2:07 am

O:k rey, fair enough…the tire pressure was an example of the sum of all parts…every little bit helps. Alot like Sen clintons, “it takes a village”…now i am no being snarky here. what she wrote was brilliant, and inspirational. what with time constraints, single parenthood etc…we all must chip in , every little bit helps. so rey, make sure your tires are properly inflated and will not pass this site on. i must say i was rather embarassed by some of obamas “supporters” rather crass responses. here is some irony…my father said there are 2 words that you should never use, no matter the heat of the moment, the c word and the n word …think about it. …so I leave you with a response that i wrote that is bouncing around the net in regards to the “experience” issue…which i think either nominee would have been pinned with from j-mc’s camp. hopefully you will understand the passion/reasoning involved in ridding ourselves of the g.o.p……………………………………………….. Here is some fun reading for you guys and gals. This is my response to something that a “gentleman” has been circulating on various sites in regards to O’Bama’s experience. This is his thesis statement and I quote …” Mr. Democrat, if Mr. Microsoft was to retire today with his Billions, would he go to the mailroom and hire somebody w/only 4 yrs. experience to run his empire”…Well the mailroom slight was enough…but the meandering diatribe that followed , ending with…”Mr. Democrat, please give me a break!!!…” enough!!
    Enjoy…

Mr. Republican, you do get a break. You have ample time to come to your senses, Nov. 4th is a aways away. Now if Mr. Microsoft was to retire today, and enjoy his Billions he would have to thank Mr. McCaine, let us not forget a caveat to good O’l ‘bring down the middle class’ Ronald Regan who started this American miasma that we are now in by supplanting the stars on our flag with dollar signs, for creating that American ideal that greed=patriotism. That you too can achieve the American dream and make all the money you can, no matter who else pays for it. Machiavellian Economics. Unfettered Capitalism. For the last 28 years American’s have watched their lives change for the worst, do largely, to the Rebummblecans. Oh some have achieved great wealth…but I am afraid it has been a Pyrrhic Victory–I won the war but lost my Army…I achieved great wealth at the cost of my employees jobs, benefits, pensions… et al; ad nauseum.
Somehow that ‘Grand Old Party’ (GOP) managed to ignore, circumnavigate, manipulate and steamroll the Clayton-Sherman Anti/Trust Act, an act of congress in 1914. By allowing the business community to come together and use the tools of economics, Wall St: brokerage houses, LLC’s, arbitragers, leverage buyouts, corporate raids/mergers, commodities traders etc…etc…to come together and form a small club that amassed great wealth at the exspense, of the majority of, ‘My Fellow Americans’. The GOP bleats on about pork belly spending. Yet they are in the middle of the biggest pork belly project seen in years (if not ever) the War(?) in Iraq. After destroying the Iraqi infrastructure, office buildings, electric/water supply, roads…you know the Country. The GOP, in keeping with tradition, awarded the civillian re-building projects to their club members. We pay (the Military)to tear it down and pay our gang to rebuild it. Hell they didn’t even ask for bids because they had ‘Homeland Security’ behind them. That goose stepping organization that Mr. Executive Priveledge created to bypass that silly thing called the Constitution.
If this isn’t enough for you. Look East to the wall we tore down. The wall we tore down without bothering to worry about what was on the otherside…we(GOP) were very busy, we had lots of business opprotunities to exploit in this new ‘American Dream’ we created. This dream is slowly turning into a nightmare. The people of Eastern Europe/Asia who got the American way whether they asked for it or not, for the most part have suffered greatly.
And this suffering and disillusionment is rearing it’s ugly head. For the peoples of the Eastern Hemisphere are also seeking Change. Re-entering the Countries that they once occupied. Restoring their national pride. Now is this a change I agree with, no. But we have committed the majority of our Military strength in a Country that neither invaded us or threatened us…damn no WMD’s…now what? Re in-state the Draft?, leave/’loose’ Iraq…Well why Mr. Executive Privledge was using the buzz-word of his administration, TERRORISM!!! (remember 911 was on his watch) he either overcommitted, or ignored his intelligence community. Not wanting to hear the truth about what was going on in the East or pre-occupied with his lame duck pandering tour. Can’t wait for those pardons.
So, Mr Republican, if this is the experience you seek. I can only hope that you are stuck in an airport, in line at the only Airline left, in your stocking feet, holding your shoes, on Nov. 4th.

ok rey, fair enough. i love the spin on the tire issue. unfortunately the point was missed that it is part of the sum of all parts.every little bit helps. alot like sen clintons, and i am not being snarky here, “it takes a village “, that brillant book on the current state of child rearing; overworked parents, single paarents….etc. must say, bit embarassed by the language of fellow obamites. so i will keep this site to myself. here is some irony…my father told me that there are 2 words you never! use, no matter the situation, the c word and the n word…think about it….so rey, keep your tires inflated and i will spread my prattle elseware…(can you believe i get paid for this). on the subject of prattle here is a piece i wrote in response to a piece bouncing around the net by the g.o.p. in regards to
‘experience”…a moniker old j-mc would have hung on either candiadate. maybe this will shed some light on the passion involved in ridding us of rep. party, cheers….ps- hell of a speech tonite, must admit. only wish i had a fingerprint on that, anyway…keep smiling……………………………………………………………

Here is some fun reading for you guys and gals. This is my response to something that has been circulated on various sites in regards to O’Bama’s experience. This is his thesis statement and I quote …” Mr. Democrat, if Mr. Microsoft was to retire today with his Billions, would he go to the mailroom and hire somebody w/only 2 yrs. experience to run his empire”…Well the mailroom slight was enough…but the meandering diatribe that followed , ending with…”Mr.

4th.

Clinton slips effortlessly among his various worlds. After a talk at a United Nations forum about Asian tsunami relief, I found him backstage accompanied by the film director Martin Scorsese
