hireheels mourns

Posted on August 21st, 2008 in Piper in Pucci, Princess Wears Prada, Sista Christian Louboutin by hireheels

From Sista:
We at HireHeels are devastated at the loss of the Honorable Stephanie Tubbs Jones. She was a loyal Democrat who fought valiantly for the rights of not only her constituents in Ohio, but for voters across the country. As the first African-American woman to be elected to the House of Representatives from the Buckeye State, she furthered the dialogue and the cause for African-American and women’s rights. I had the honor of personally meeting Representative Tubbs Jones several times while I was on the campaign trail for Senator Clinton. I was struck by the Representative’s warmth and enthusiasm. Her optimism and her laugh were contagious— she inspired me as she did others. Thank you Representative Tubbs Jones, we will honor your memory by continuing your legacy. We at HireHeels will fight with grace for those who cannot fight for themselves, we will stand tall against injustice; we will not back down in the face of adversity. Again Representative, thank you for your patriotism and your service. Now we will take up the baton (and run with it) for you.

From Piper:
We are all devastated at the tragic and untimely loss of Stephanie Tubbs-Jones. I don’t have the words in my vocabulary to honor her properly. Maybe they don’t exist. All I know is that she became a hero of mine this year. She was a joy to watch. Her smile was contagious, and her commentary on cable news shows became ‘must-see TV’ in my household. Her steadfast support of Hillary during the primaries showed her loyalty and the strength of her character, and her appearance at the Rules and Bylaws protest to demand that all votes be counted was a true profile in courage.

She was fierce. She was passionate. She was a force of nature wrapped in a red dress.Sista, Princess and I had the great fortune of seeing Stephanie on the campaign trail in Philadelphia.

Below is the speech Stephanie gave during a rally at the University of Pennsylvania. She brought the house down! Rest in peace, Stephanie. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

From Princess:
A great fortune indeed, Piper — Stephanie Tubbs Jones not only brought down the house that night in Philly with her fiery speech, she awakened my fighting spirit. Princess deeply regrets not navigating the masses to thank our gal’s fiercest and most passionate cheerleader in person. I intended to do so at the WomenCount luncheon in Denver next week. I pray her loved ones take comfort in realizing how many millions of Americans (like me) she moved without ever shaking their hands.

Princess, Sista, & Piper: Even in the time of loss, and while reflecting our admiration, respect, and love for this great and loyal American, our names are being hijacked. That said - -
she was always smiling and energetic, and passionate about her beliefs. That always came through.

My prayers to the family also.I just admired her so much and had never met her in person but watched and listened to her on c-spann etc.Even when she was being threatened by the obamas and her own aa members she stood her ground.for what she believed..Not a lot of the delegates and superdelegates can say they did the same. She will sureley be missed at the convention.

So sad and the timing makes one wonder…after Gwatney and Diane’s broken ankle…in terms of Stephanie, she was surely a force to be reckoned with and my vibe is some anted her out of the way in case her influence spread further. Could be paranoia, but I’m staying wide awake!
May she rest in peace, God bless her family and may she continue to be an inspiration for us all!

Dedicated to the Honorable Stephanie Tubbs Jones

    Candle in the Wind

Goodbye may you ever grow in our hearts you were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart

You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain. Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here along our greenest hills
Your candle’s burned out long before your legend ever will

    Loveliness we’ve lost
These empty days without your smile. This torch we’ll always carry
    For our nation’s golden child

    And even though we try
The truth brings us to tears
    All our words cannot express
The joy you brought us through the years

Goodbye from a country lost without your soul
Who’ll miss the wings of your compassion
    More than you’ll ever know

I could not wait for a reply please indulge me this…for all out there who’s hearts are breaking like mine….

    Creator Father Mother God/des

Tonight I ask you to watch over the great soul of Stephanie Tubbs Jones, she has always been the nations good servant but yours first. We shall miss this great champion of civil rights and women’s rights. There is tonight a void in all are hearts where the reassuring voice of your servant dwelt.
Congresswoman Tubbs-Jones was a woman of deep and abiding love for her family her constituents and her country. She embodies the spirit of the American woman. She was a mother and mentor to many her life touched every soul here in our little home. She had the faith to change the world and to speak the truth to power.
As an African American woman she spent her life climbing the mountain and leading Americans of every color to the Promised Land. She worked hard and long not because she had to but because she genuinely loved working of others. Stephanie was a true American spirit. She is loved by all who are touched by her work. This Congress woman is a true public servant.
Now she is free of the body that was too weak for so strong a soul. She has earned her merited crown. She is a protecting angel to us all, wings outstretched to provide the comfort and safety she could never do in her human body. She is a symbol to the empowerment of women all over this world.
Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones has spoken so eloquently of our Hillary and they were good friends. I believe that now above our Hillary there are angel’s wings open protecting her and guiding her. Believe that now Stephanie Tubbs Jones along with Ann Richards are guarding and guiding Hillary through this tough time. We cannot know the plans of the cosmos or divine the stars wishes, we can only hope that your servants Stephanie Tubbs Jones watches over us tonight freed from the labors of earth.
Creator Father Mother God/des hear your children we are missing our friend and advocate comfort her family in this time of loss give us strength and carry us.

    Amen

My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, colleagues and constituents. May they always know that her extended family, including all of us, will be forever mindful of the extraordinary way she touched our hearts. God bless and keep her near.

There is an interview with HRC by the Cleveland Plain-Dealer here:
    http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/08/hillary_clinton_stephanie_tubb.html

“And now, several days after the unexpected death of U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, who was her campaign’s national co-chairwoman, Sen. Hillary Clinton said she’s still having a hard time coping with the loss of a political ally who became like a girlfriend-in-chief during the contentious primary season.”

May God help Hillary and Senator Tubbs family through this terrible time.

I read the story about Bill Gwatney because I was suspect about it all along. The story was squashed by the media. Also the man that shot him was an Obama supporter; but the police made sure he would not be alive to expose it.

Something else that concerned me was that Stephanie Tubbs Jones mysteriously has a brain aneurysm; she was a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton and we all loved her dearly.

Having a minor background in the medical industry; this leads me to wonder if Mrs. Jones may have been exposed to potassium that could have induced an aneurysm.

Do not want to be view as a conspiracy’s theorist but something is wrong about her sudden death. Law enforcement released three different stories; Wikipedia and CNN was reporter her dead within two hours of her injuries. They also began bragging her seat was vacant; then after her official death notification the following day Obama seeks to replace Hillary delegates with his delegates. Was she injected with potassium or did she stop to eat and someone helped her ingest it. Obama needs Ohio and Arkansas; Hillary states to pull this corrupt election off.

Something else that concerned me was Tim Russert sudden death. It was brought to my attention he was working on a corruption story on Obama; after he sold out to him. I assume this could have been orchestrated; just in time to interrupt the Larry Sinclair interview.

Biden son was the one who issued the arrest warrant in Delaware for Larry Sinclair.

Hillary look into this because she was our friend and a person who looked after all nationalities.

    Stephanie the wise woman….2008

“I, thank God, have a Senator joining me in this objection, and I appreciate Senator Boxer’s willingness to listen to the plight of hundreds, and even thousands of Ohio voters, that for a variety of reasons were denied the right to vote.

“Unfortunately, objecting to the electoral votes from Ohio is the only immediate avenue to bring these issues to light…. I am duty bound to follow the law and apply the law to the facts as I find them, and it is on behalf of those millions of Americans who believe in and value our democratic process and the right to vote that I put forth this objection today. If they are willing to stand at polls for countless hours in the rain, as many did in Ohio, then I should surely stand up for them here in the halls of Congress.

“This objection does not have at its root the hope or even the hint of overturning the victory of the President; but it is a necessary, timely, and appropriate opportunity to review and remedy the most precious process in our democracy. I raise this objection neither to put the Nation in the turmoil of a proposed overturned election, nor to provide cannon fodder or partisan demagoguery for my fellow Members of Congress. I raise this objection because I am convinced that we as a body must conduct a formal and legitimate debate about election irregularities. I raise this objection to debate the process and protect the integrity of the true will of the people….

“In my own county where citizen volunteers put forth a Herculean effort to register, educate, mobilize, and protect, there were long lines, 4- to 5-hour waits. Election Protection Coalition testified that more than half of the complaints about long lines they received came from Columbus and Cleveland where a huge proportion of the State’s Democratic voters live. One entire polling place in Cuyahoga County had to shut down at 9:25 a.m. on Election Day because there were no working machines. On provisional balloting, Cuyahoga County had over-all provisional ballot rejection of 32%. Rejection rates for provisional ballots in African-American precincts and wards in Cleveland averaged 37% and in some as high as 51%. Significant flaws in registration process and procedures. Initial research identified at least 600 individuals purged from the Cuyahoga County voting rolls without a due process. Cuyahoga County analysis of 10,900 voter applications showed that almost 3,000 were never entered; address updates received but never updated; mistakes in entering addresses.

“I thank the Speaker for the opportunity to be heard, and I raise the objection on behalf of the electors of the State of Ohio.”
