obama fatigue? what took you so long?

Posted on August 7th, 2008 in Piper in Pucci by hireheels

Well isn’t this delicious! The Pew Research Center released a new poll showing that nearly half of its respondents are suffering from extreme Obama fatigue. piper_in_pucci_byline

“Two-thirds of Republicans and about half of independents said they’ve heard too much about Obama, as did a third of Democrats, a significant number.”

Awww, Senator Sweetie. Is all of that fluffing by the MSM starting to backfire and leave you flaccid and unable to satisfy the masses? Are you losing both your rock star luster and your groupies? Are you more overexposed than those celebutantes you so eschew?

Maybe you should have considered this risk before you dragged your paparazzi with you on your “Preemptive and Presumptuous ‘08” world tour? It looks like this media manufactured lovefest was indeed an error in your much ballyhooed judgment.

It also makes me wonder that if people are tired of hearing of him now, how much Obama fatigue will there be after having we’ve all been inundated with $5 million in ads during the Olympics and the coronation in Denver?

But wait, it gets even juicier:
“At the same time, nearly four in 10 said they’ve been hearing too little about McCain — about four times the number who said so about Obama. About half of Republicans, four in 10 independents and even a quarter of Democrats said they’ve not heard enough about the GOP candidate.
It sounds like the public is soooo over you, Barack. You’re yesterday’s news. The fickle masses are yearning for something new. They’re clamoring for some Johnny Mac.
Don’t be sad, Sweetie. All good things must come to an end. Those fifteen minutes were going to have to be up sometime.

Princess - truly delicious…O.D. on Obamamania…read this. It’s getting even better. Here’s a quote from the article.

“It seems the more Americans get used to Barack Obama, the less they want him as president — and the more Democrats will soon regret not nominating Hillary Clinton.”

Yep, those party leaders in Washington really know how to pick ‘em!

    flowerchild2, great article.

    more evidence of obama fatigue:

three anti-obama releases were in the top 20 of amazon.com’s best-seller list on tuesday, despite little critical attention or mainstream media coverage.

voters’ trust for mccain on key issues growing:

john mccain is now trusted more than barack obama on nine out of 14 electoral issues tracked by rasmussen reports. the latest national telephone surveys find that mccain has the biggest advantage on the war in iraq, by a 51% to 39% margin.
perhaps the most interesting finding of these polls is that mccain has expanded his leads on nearly every issue he had previously had the advantage on, while obama’s leads have diminished over the past two weeks.

What’s interesting is that people are tired of seeing Obama’s face on every corner, every tv station, and tired of hearing his name 1,000 times a day. However, the truth is we still do not know very much about Obama, where he was really born, his citizenship (perhaps dual), and other things Americans should know about a president who was “vetted” (Obama never was). In contrast, people know a great deal about McCain, and yet want to see more of him. I for one pay attention when McCain speaks, turn away when Obama starts talking. McCain does care about us while Obama seems to care about Obama, his image, making sure everyone knows how adored he is.

Our Party leaders are a febble lot, there only 20 of them any way….evita errr Obama I am so sorry you are unable to really make history -the oval office will only be in your future when president mccain and president clinton invite you over for tea.

You are on the way to the island of unwanted toys-errr unwanted excess presidential candidates there is a place for you between John Kerry and walter mondale maybe if you are nice dole will let you sit in the republican section where you will feel more comfortable.

of course you could always run for president of kenya or Indonesia despots are loved in those countries….they love cults of personality ask sukarno….Ican see the postage stamp now-your hands stretched out towards the hungry masses behind you rays of the sun spreading out a large bowl of rice pouring out like a cornicopia- I am truely inspired so will the people of indonesia!

I remember one previous vacation. I think it was before Ohio primary. O’s going to Hawaii? Good. Don’t hurry back. Did anyone see a clip of one of O’s question/answer appearances tonight? A little girl asked him why he wanted to be president. First he stammered like he always does. Then told her it’s because of his two little girls; he wants a better America for his little girls. America isn’t the country it used to be. He wants to end discrimination….and then listed a series of adjectives describing the faults (as he sees them) of America. Catch it if you can. He is sooo negative.

the interesting angle is, mccain’s ads and his speeches focus on obama. the excitement over obama isn’t his creation. obama is trying to profit from it. mccain is trying to undermine it. people should focus on mccain. great. the more they learn about mccain, i’m sure their opinion of him will change.

for example, now that j. edward’s extra-marital affair has come to light, maybe mccain’s extra-marital affair will resurface. mccain was married to carol sheppard when he met cindy. mccain has not been a faithful husband, and he is trying to present himself as a beacon for family values. take a closer look at mccain.

mccain is also pro-life. if president, he will select a supreme court judge that will make the bench more conservative. the supreme court very well might judge a case affecting women’s reproductive rights. do you want a guy who holds conservative views being president? really? take a closer look.

mccain blamed obama for high gas prices. he is clearly ignoring the influence speculators have on gas prices through what obama has termed the “enron loophole.” mccain is doing nothing to limit artificial gas hikes based on specuators (mutual funds, investment bankers, big oil companies, etc.). instead, he incorrectly blames obama. do you really want this guy to be president? take a closer look.

mccain is bad with words. some months ago he made a song “bomb bomb bomb iran.” remember that? we don’t need another president to provoke iran and make america, once more, appear to be the bully of the world. plus, mccain recently said his wife, cindy, who is 17 years younger than mccain, could win the Buffalo Chip bikini contest. the Buffalo Chip contestants have to model topless. Would a guy who respects his wife make that comment? do we need another provocateur as president who will continuously make bad comments?

I don’t want mccain to be president. i’ve already gone through the obama-centered fase. i’ve gone through the mccain-centered fase. on balance, obama is the far better candidate. a lot of people still need to get over their suppressed racist thoughts.

I am not sure anyone could concoct a more alarming post than this. “Steal the presidency” - uh last I checked he wasn’t even officially the nominee much less the president…

“The Black community will punish any political party” … uh is there a more racist threat imaginable?

and to your follow on friend - phase is spelled phase, not fase. you guys kill me…. it is possible that a man who is half-black isn’t perfect. it is possible that a man who is half-white is not qualified to be president. it is possible that a man who spent less than one term as a senator isn’t qualified to be president - those are the facts.

Give the man a chance if he doesn’t come thru don’t vote for him next time hell, you probably voted for Bush you let him continue a war that killed lots of our family and friends. He’s just not ready to be president. He should have waiting it out, built a strong track record in the Senate and built a solid record on the national scene. He didn’t do that, and I am sorry, but I just can’t rely on a person that inexperienced. No one on this website has ever made a racial comment about Senator Obama. As you can see from some of the posts that have been added tonight the type of attacks on us. We are treating this as any other contest, that’s our right. The country will decide the outcome. If accusations of racism are going to be charged by Senator Obama or any of his supporters, it’s going to back-fire. No one is doing that, no one has done that.

    I Love this site!!!!

We don’t have to worry so much about Roe V Wade for awhile. Dems are going to control the Senate and the House for the next 4 years. They will block judicial nominees set to overturn it. It might be a rough ride, but I am dead set against a cult figure president.

Funny, I’m not that old - but, when I was growing up, it was legal to beat your wife, women had little control over reproduction, rape was considered a woman’s fault, girls didn’t need college because they were only going to get married. I was among the first women hired into sales management by the largest corporation in America and for 15 years, though I was sole support of my family, I made .60 cents on the dollar compared to men. If Jesse Jackson’s name could be put to the vote in the convention because of the historic nature of his candidacy, then Hillary Clinton and her supporters deserve no less.

I only wish she could win. In the meantime, my Dad and I are voting McCain. We don’t trust Obama. My son, an initial Obama guy is so mad that Hillary isn’t at least up for VP is not going to vote at all. Obama ran a slick and manipulative campaign. The media failed to do their jobs. If we had known about the Preacher and about Edwards “lies”, Hillary wouldn’t have lost - though someone in her campaign should be blasted for not having a caucus state strategy. Meanwhile, I can take 4 more years. As a woman, I’ve survived a lot tougher challenges!

    Dear TODAY show,

I was surprised that in your news this morning you seemed amazed /puzzled that Hillary Clinton’s name might be placed in nomination in Denver.

The amazing story here is that her name might NOT be placed in nomination. This would be a break with a procedure that the party has followed since 1884, and it is certainly a stark contrast to how all the Dem. conventions have been run in recent decades.

Where is your investigative journalism? Why aren’t you asking questions about this drastic change? If there’s not a roll call, why have a convention? Such a change would be unprecedented!

This was a striking example of NBC trying to make the new strange happenings in the Democratic Party seem ordinary!

NOW I’m not sure what to do … wish Dear Abbie was around … I need advice. Two smirky, smug faces on tv is more than this poor PUMA can handle.

Isn’t it thoughtful that in 2008 we as women can stand up for a woman who’s disbarred husband wagged his finger in the camera during prime time television and declared that he didn’t have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky. Isn’t it great that she could spend millions and millions of dollars, say anything, do anything, keep changing the rules, keep raising the bar, but we still support her because she’s one of us? Give me a break!!! Stand by your lying, cheating man? That is so ’80’s. John McShame will make sure that gals like us will need an alley, a hanger, and permission to leave.

Kim Jones, I agree about McCain. Scare the shit out of this old feminist. No matter what you all want, Obama is the candidate and voting for McCain is voting for a whole new bag of madness for 4 more years. By then, Roe v Wade will be overturned, we will be fighting another war in Iran, the world will hate us more than they already do, thousands more will die, and our president will be a misogynist.

It really is a scary thought for me to think of McCain realizing his ambition.
