hireheels says NO DEAL to shady moves from slickly-shod bad boys
Sista received another slippery missive from the DNC yesterday. Wow, they really must be desperate for cash… I mean didn’t Howie receive that “Dear John” letter that I sent a while back? The guy must be a masochist. Well he does like to scream.
Yesterday’s little beauty was entitled “Special Invitation from Barack Obama.”
As you might imagine heels— I was so very titillated to receive a “party” invite
from the Anointed One.
Here’s an excerpt:
One month from today, more than 75,000 Americans will join Barack Obama at the first truly open Democratic National Convention in a generation.
If you make a donation in any amount before midnight this Thursday, July 31st, you could join Barack backstage before he accepts the Democratic nomination.
My dear Howard let me remind you that —an open Convention is about NOMINATIONS not open-air stadia! Natch HireHeels and the rest of the Just Say No Deal Coalition welcome the concept of a “truly open Democratic National Convention.” Sadly, Sista thinks it would be more likely for Saks to host a sidewalk blowout on 5th Ave with their entire fall 2008 line of Gucci stilettos on sale for $5 a piece. But… if Hell were to freeze over… Precious just might acknowledge that there is no democratic candidate for president until the roll call vote on August 27, 2008. He might even allow both his and Senator Clinton’s names to be placed in nomination. Yeah… Dream on dissed dems… Don’t let that “open” door policy hit you on your18 mill arses as you exit Invesco and the Democratic Party!
It would serve you well to realize Mr. Chairman, that obscenely funded smoke-and-mirror marketing tactics won’t win us over. The American Idolization of this election isn’t gleaning your expected ratings is it? Have you seen the polls? Your wonder boy Barry should be up double digits— instead he’s down by four… Why is that? Did the cameras not capture his “good” side? Or is it that the voters just don’t take to manipulation of sacred traditions and Democratic Party principles for marketing or fund-raising purposes? And we really don’t like false advertising, so stop calling your Convention “open” if it’s as tightly closed as a steel-toed pair of Dr. Marten’s.

Are we doing the dinner with our lady, Hillary?
on July 29th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
I say, why don’t we let the boys and Ms. Brazile go on out to their “Investor” stadium, where Mr. O can prance around and greet the members of the Obamanation. We can continue with the proper business of the Democratic Party at the convention hall; place Hillary’s name in nomination and have an open roll call vote of the delegates. Then the boys + 1 can come on back in and let’s see who is the properly selected Democratic nominee. Of course we will allow all delegates from Michigan and Florida, who were voted on by the citizens of their states, to have a seat at the real convention. Dean, Brazile, and Mr. OhNo himself can bask in the adoration of the crowd and the hot lights out at the stadium. But remember in the morning, you’ve got a country to run and it’s not just photo shoots and smiling at crowds you’ve enticed in with beer and brautwurst. How will it feel to be a REAL President Mr. Obama? I’m sure you will quickly tire of it right away; you actually might have to do some work on your own!

I would love to have dinner with HRC, but, what happened to the results of the fund-raising that was released on the web a few days back? Someone out there with close ties to Hillary’s campaign must be able to sneak us some word on what was raised, how much is left, and the big question… will she accept the nomination at Denver?
I would also remind people that it can’t hurt to keep writing to Hillary to let her know that we are behind her 100%. If she were to make the leap, it would be hard to get enough money in to do ads and set up staff in 50 states. If they hadn’t moved the convention back to coincide with the anniversary of MLK’s “I have a dream” speech, there would be more time.
Anyway, it would be nice if someone connected would pass on some good info for us to work with.
on July 29th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Off topic…a friend of mine from CA e-mailed today that there was a 5.4 earthquake, South of her home in Sonoma County. No injuries. Her daughter was in the area. She said the lights started swaying and the building too. They were in a convention center. Her daughter described it as a a roller instead of a jolter.

sista I recieved a letter from the devine Ms “O”bama here is my reply thought you might like it….
Ms Obama
I was so surprised to get a solicitation for a campaign contribution for your husband’s general election campaign. Since Senator Obama has yet to be chosen as our democratic nominee at the convention, I think that it is premature to request money for a nomination that he has yet to secure. I also think that your husband’s decision to hold a 1933 “Triumph of the Will” Nuremburg style rally totally inappropriate, and not in keeping with the traditions of our party.
I have never supported your husband in the primary and I am offended that you would imply otherwise in this request for money. I have always supported Hillary R Clinton and will support her to the convention floor. Your husband has never had my support. If he should be the nominee you can be sure I will not support him in his bid to be president.
Your husband lacks any qualifications for the job, his inexperience and thin resume for what I consider to be the hardest job in America is a recipe for executive disaster. I am sorry but I also have serious concerns about Senator Obama’s judgment and character. Mr. Obama’s desire to eliminate all contestants in his past primary bids is both undemocratic and Un-American.
I must hold you also responsible, for the mess you and your husband have made of the Democratic Party. I am sure now it is dawning on you that a good large portion of the party is not going to support your husband in the general election. You and your husband’s race baiting and misogyny are inexcusable.
I only hope that there is a Democratic Party after the General Election defeat that will occur on November 4th if your husband is the nominee. I hope you and your husband are willing to accept responsibility for the defeat that you will hand our party and not place the blame on others like Hillary and Bill Clinton or the PUMA Movement.
It will not be totally your fault that we are defeated in November Howard Dean and Donna Brazile will also be responsible as well as the members of the RBC committee who sealed your and our fate with their decision on May 31st.
As for whom I will vote for on November 4th, I own my own vote not Senator Obama or the DNC or even Hillary Clinton. I do not know who I will vote for but I can assure you I will not vote for Barak Obama. Personally, I have refrained from emotion in my letter but I want to assure you Senator Obama will never be my president I will work against his nomination and regrettably I will work against him in the general election.
Very Respectfully
Michael P Varvel Jr

Obama’s Symbolic Importance
By Jonathan Weisman
Perhaps he’s beginning to believe the hype.
In his closed door meeting with House Democrats this evening, presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama delivered a real zinger. According to a witness, he was waxing lyrical about last week’s trip to Europe, when he concluded, “this is the moment, as Nancy [Pelosi] noted, that the world is waiting for.”
The 200,000 souls who thronged to his speech in Berlin came not just for him, he told the enthralled audience of congressional representatives.
“I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions,” he said.

Zoinks. I don’t want a symbol. That’s what we have now, someone who was all hat and no cattle–and look where it got us.
Spiffy post, SCL. I’m donating more scratch for a chance at din-din. Remember, cats and kittens, keep your eyes on the prize. I’m pretty sure delegates have the right to force Hillary’s name into nomination, whether Howie likes it or not. All we need is 20% to insist (I’ll be doing my call to convention homework this week to be sure) and they can’t hide it. If Prince Not-So-Charming keeps up his presumptuous act until the convention, he might just disenchant enough voters–and supers–to get himself un-presumed.
on July 30th, 2008 at 9:38 am
Michael, I love your letter to Michelle O. I only wish I’d written it. I don’t get invitations from ObAmway, which makes me happy. Perhaps it’s because, in February, when MoveOn.Org made it clear that they were backing O, I resigned my membership and sent them a rather scolding post about their premature and just plain WRONG choice.

Hey T-bone if Obama sinks any lower in the polls it may be the “chosen one” that gives a little 5 minute speech. I guess you dont understand the sound of 18 million Hillary supporter who own their own vote will drown out everyone of the 75000 at Invesco stadium.

Change You Can’t Believe In

The rise of democratic frontrunner Barack Obama signifies an alarming victory of style over substance. Not unlike the dot-com hype, his campaign promises more than he can deliver. The one thing his voters can count on is that they will ultimately be disappointed.

have you ever watched the show intervention on A&E. its a great show that show people wacked out on drugs & alcohol and any other vice folks can come up with.

and speaking of mind control….check out this from the band member who performed @ said rock concert:
“Well I just played the show in Berlin before the speech from Barack Obama and I have to say I am wasted, the whole event was exciting, intense, fantastic and personal! I think I have spent more energy on Emotion today than anything else…I have been at thousands of summer festivals, (which was the nearest description to the event today) and it always seemed so natural the masses of people moving around enjoying the music and the surroundings. The mixture of people, hip hoppers, rockers, Goths, poppers all converging on one place to listen to their favourite bands, drink and party all day and night for the weekend! We all did it, it made sense, it was self-discovery and musical heaven!”

Instead of being concerned that you have no office, be concerned to think how you may fit yourself for office. Instead of being concerned that you are not known, see to the (be?) worthy of being known.
The superior man is modest in his speech, but exceeds in his actions.
When you are laboring for others let it be with the same zeal as if it were for yourself.
Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.
He who speaks without modesty will find it difficult to make his words good.
If you look into your own heart, and you find nothing wrong there, what is there to worry about? What is there to fear?

Barack Obama’s Arrogant Campaign Risks a Stunning Loss
on July 30th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Rapper Ludacris, in a song released today entitled “Politics”, calls Hillary Clinton an “irrelevant bitch” and also attacks President Bush and Sen. McCain. These lyrics are outrageous, offensive, and unacceptable.
It is another example of hateful, sexist language being used on the campaign trail, and now is our moment to make it clear: not on our watch! The leadership of both parties must step up to condemn such hateful speech and demand apologies. The Obama campaign has criticized the lyrics, but we call on the presumptive party nominee, who is the celebrated subject of the new song, to go even further: It is not enough to condemn the song, we are calling on our presumptive Democratic Nominee to call on the artist and the label to pull the song and make a public apology. Now.
“WomenCount” has launched a “Stop the Silence” campaign calling on voters and party leaders to speak out against examples of sexism on the campaign trail. let’s hope bho doesn’t pull a punch with ‘i’m just messin’ with you, man.”

here is some more bad news from lord haha and tokoyo rose:
40% of democrats will not vote for obama if he is the nominee
90% of Republicans will support mccain in the general election(no suprize here)
8-11 point advantage to mccain among indpendent voters over obama
only 39% of americans thought obama’s “rainbow tour” was a success
79% of americans believe the media is biased toward obama (and we know how the media is loved by the american electorate)
hillary polls 49% to 42% against mccain
obama polls 41% to 41% against mccain
a majority of americans believed that team obama and the media have devalued the term “racism” because thay have over used the term and used it incorrectly
for the first time mccain polls ahead of obama 44% tp 41% among likely voters(obama only closes the gap if you include the less accurate registered voters)
sweetie t-bone darling sorry but your little candidate’s support is withering away-

Whoa, boy. Obama’s sista souljah moment. Here’s what I picked up from E!:
“Ludacris is a talented individual, but he should be ashamed of these lyrics,” Obama spokesman Bill Burton said.
“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to.”
Well, that is a good response, IMHO. I’d have felt better if he had used it when people like Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and all the others were going down that same road, though. Wonder how Ludacris and the Obama youth are going to take his response?
on July 31st, 2008 at 12:38 pm
color me unimpressed. it is not a sista souljah moment. bill had the courage to speak for himself. o has to do it through a spokesperson. and they shouldn’t have hedged their statement with ‘ludacris is a talented individual’.

All you women do not mind signing the death warrants of thousands more, mostly men, so I guess you do not mind killing off a few thousand men by one vote, because pulling that handle, or how ever you do it for mcbush, you are literally, LITERALLY signing the death warrants of at least thousands more kids in Iraq, and all because Senator Barack had the gall to run against hillary LIAR clinton. Why can’t just one of you be honest and admit you are just mad and throwing a temper tantrem because your candidate was beaten even by the rules hillary agreed too, at least before it became obvious she was going to lose…. I even wonder how long the women who run these sites will allow this one to stay up. They do not want the thoughts of a MAN screwing up your destroying the country because you are mad moment.

If the Republicans win this election, I will never forgive you. Pumas, JustSayNoDeal - groups whose primary goal obviously is not to give you a voice, but to give the Republicans another 4 years. Wake up people, you’re being fooled!
