blackballed (hey i didn’t start it - jesse jackson did!)

Posted on July 11th, 2008 in Princess Wears Prada by hireheels

(I’ll probably get slammed for playing the race and gender card on this one!)

Don’t you just love how the media and blogosphere are handling the “nuts” comment. First of all, when I hear the word “nuts” these days, I either think of my miserable food allergies or my similarly visceral reaction to Nancy Pelosi’s perma-grin. Seriously, I haven’t heard “nuts” in the context of the male anatomy since college. princess_wears_prada_byline
But now that it’s out there, let’s have some fun with it. The ever witty and daring PaganPower (I gotta meet this guy) has just posted a brand new poll entitled: Obama’s Balls. (Hey it’s Friday!) Do visit and weigh in (with your vote that is).

We’re obviously not shy discussing balls either. Remember our video : Wimp-Gate: No Debate, No Balls!

We were on to the Senator’s shortcomings ages ago. We once told you our gal was rated #2 in LadyBalls - second only to Thatcher! And Remember Carville’s cojones comment: “If she gave him one of her cojones, they’d both have two.” But my all time fav was watching wholesome-hottie Evan Bayh repeat the
words “testicular fortitude” during an MSNBC interview in the Capitol Rotunda. Made me want him all the more!

Listen, we’re not picky at hireheels. (only ‘bout our shoes). We’re not asking for the machismo of Stallone or Schwarzenegger, but give us something to grab on to for heavens sake! Even a geek like Tobey Maguire has more bulge in his Spiderman tights than you know who (figuratively speaking).

Maybe it’s reverse sexism to discuss fortitude and backbone in these crude terms (especially here) but one thing is certain – when you hear the slang term BALLS, you get the meaning immediately. Hope you’ve enjoyed my brief yet ballsy post. I shall return next week, if I’m not blackballed over the weekend! Try to keep it clean.

    Dear HH gals:

I am considering leaving you gals alone. I know I would be missed but we just talk past each other instead of having a dialog. I hope you folks will take some time to reflect that obama is not the enemy here. he does not control the media. Obama cannot do the Vulcan mind meld and control everyone as much as you give him credit for.

Obviously, democracy is a work in progress. I only wonder what might have been if Al Gore would have been President. We would be eight years ahead of where we are in doing something positive for the environment. Because of that election and elections since, reform will continue.

as diane m, said on cavuto, she cant accept obama over hillary because she has more experience. there is a reason we have elections instead of appointments based on seniority. its a democracy. contrary to belief on this site, obama has a great deal of experience. the number of years in the senate doesn’t ensure you will be a good president, and mccain is a great example of that.

If you vote for McCain, you are voting for the war to continue. And you are voting for continued escalation with Iran. And you are voting to add two or more justices to the court in the mold of thomas, scalia, roberts and alito. this group in the majority will spend their every waking hour whittling away your rights as women.

As this election unfolds, I hope that you will take a look and not settle for the latest rumor, innuendo or gossip. if you have enough time to spend on this site, then take a look at where he stands on the issues you care most about. if you’re a person that would rather believe that obama is a secret muslim who hates this country, i’ll never convince you otherwise but to the rest, i hope that you take democracy seriously and do your homework. Even I managed to learn some things on this site.

no one on this site is more hurt and disappointed than hillary that she is not the nominee. If your upset fine, but she is supporting obama so don’t pretend like she is out there supporting your cause. She is not waiting in the wings hoping against hope the sd will change their minds. She has moved on to getting him elected.

So adios for now, your dreambot t-bone. Peace

And more good new, I was over at Heidi Li’s Potpourri where she is stating that she has been asked to help Senator Clintons delegates. For those who may not know Heidi is a professor of law and philosophy at Georgetown University. She is also part of the Denver Group! She is really great and inspiring. I did a search to see if any one posted this and did not find it but wanted to get the word out.. this is GREAT news!

    Quote:
“Clinton delegates have been preparing a petition, which requires the collection of a certain number of delegate signatures from different state delegations. Then, they need a safe place to send their signatures. It is with real honor that I tell readers of this space that the delegates have asked me to consider to accepting their signatures and to keep the paperwork safe until the time when it can be used to aid Senator Clinton. The delegates know I will guard that paperwork with my life.”

A one-on-one with the Dahli Lama, himself isn’t enough to counteract it. OB needs to quit talking long enough to hear the cosmic message attempting to transmit to him a very important universal message - - STEP DOWN.

I read the AP article about Bernie Mac. What does the fraud mean when he stated, “By the way, I’m just messing with you, man?” That he approves privately of the remarks?

Just shows that the fraud can’t distinguish sexism or he wouldn’t invite these so-called entertainers to appear at his fundraisers in the first place.

    BREAKING….THIS FROM OUR PAL PAGANPOWER:

A month after emerging victorious from the bruising Democratic nominating contest, some of Barack Obama’s glow may be fading. In the latest NEWSWEEK Poll, the Illinois senator leads Republican nominee John McCain by just 3 percentage points, 44 percent to 41 percent. The statistical dead heat is a marked change from last month’s NEWSWEEK Poll, where Obama led McCain by 15 points, 51 percent to 36 percent.

In a single month. Obama has lost 12 points to McCain.

Anyone interested in a song with lyrics from HRC speeches can go to http://wordsnmusic.homestead.com/lyrics.html for “In her own Words” at the bottom of the page. There are pdf and mp3 files. This is NOT a studio recording, but something folks can use as they see fit. Anyone is welcome to make her or his own arrangement, just keep the melody structure. Also the instrument is a requinto, so the key in the recording is a third or fourth off from the chords written on the lyric sheet, which are for standard guitar.

Too many African-Americans who support Barack Obama are overconfident about his prospects for winning the presidency. Additionally, these same supporters believe they can say anything demeaning or vulgar about other candidates with impunity. Lastly, they believe that Barack Obama will showcase the black culture in the White House, therefore, changing America and the world forever. In sum, they believe that Barack Obama is “The ONE.”

I certainly don’t have sufficient facts to back it up but what I glanced at so far is compelling. HH-ers, have at it! What do you know? What have you witnessed? Have any family, friends, etc., whose stories back this up?

a little story for your entertainment….”what fuzzybeargville did today”

Hello poor fuzzybear, was talked into “tubing down the Itchetuckne (itchy-tuck-knee) river by his friends today and asked to bring a few sides….

Tubing is a southern summer tradition where many like minded individuals rent large mac truck innertubes plop into them in a cold spring fed river….and ride down the river..these individuals were bears-think kathy griffin last thursdays show….

Well it was a dubious proposition from the gitgo, it rained when the tram picked us up and took us to the river, where you try to jump into freezing water . landing on your innertube so your tush hangs through the hole in the tube so you are gently washed with the current down the river.

Sounds lovely-right-no laffing please-fuzzy missed his innertube completely soaking himself and was pulled under almost ratdrowned! For the next 30 minutes I was dragged behind my inner tube until we got to a shallow part of the river and was able jump into my tube!

Unfurtunately i did it backwards and was forced to ride uncomfortablly laying in the tube with no neck support until about 30 minutes from the end I developed a painful cramp in my right calf muscle. It was so painful I defied gravity by levitating out of my tube.

I was looking anywhere for a place to touch bottom so I could walk it off well of course I found foouting but it took 5 minutes to work out the cramp-there is no shore on this river…spent the rest of the ride trying to keep the cramp from comming back hanging onto my tube for dear life.

Finally the end of the “float” was over and i dragged my tired sore body out of the water (thank god for sunscreen or I would have been scortched!)

A light lunch with southern sides and cold cut sandwichs was served and homemade brownies made by me.

An offer was made by the group to let me go down with them again…I declined-

What did fuzzy see on the bumber of the master of cero”moan”ies for this event?

    “Obama 08″

I believe these guys were tying to do ol’ pro’hillary fuzzy in!

Fueling VP speculation, Obama heading to Iraq with Hagel, Reed
    Posted: 06:26 PM ET

From CNN White House Correspondent Ed Henry

Sens. Reed and Hagel will accompany Obama on a trip to Iraq.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama is heading to Iraq later this month with two Senate colleagues, Republican Chuck Hagel and Democrat Jack Reed, according to two sources familiar with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s plans.

The sources said the official Congressional delegation trip, known as a CODEL, will occur around the time Obama heads overseas for a previously-announced campaign trip to France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, and Jordan to help beef up his foreign policy credentials. Officials are keeping the precise dates of Obama’s trip under wraps, however, for obvious security reasons.

The inclusion of Hagel on the official portion of the trip is guaranteed to further fuel speculation that Obama might pick a Republican as a running mate on a presidential ticket aimed at winning over independents. Hagel, who privately discusses foreign policy matters with both Obama and Republican presumptive presidential nominee John McCain, has publicly left the door open to a possible bipartisan ticket.

    Watch: Hagel as Obama’s VP?

Aides to Hagel and Reed both refused to comment when asked by CNN about the upcoming trip.

The Nebraska Republican could also be a contender for a Cabinet post like Defense Secretary if either Obama or McCain wins, according to strategists in both parties, because of his friendship with both candidates.

Reed, a Democrat from Rhode Island, is an Army veteran who is respected in both parties for his knowledge of national security issues. Democratic strategists privately say Reed is highly-regarded by Obama and could also find himself on the short list for a variety of posts in a potential Democratic administration.

There has been speculation that the delegation may also stop in Afghanistan, but sources familiar with the trip would not confirm the possibility of a second stop.

YOU foks are the ones who early on compared Obama to JFK. Now that he’s trying to campaign in the same manner, you just can’t stand it, can you? You can’t stand that he’s is a monumental success and is loved around the world…can you? So what if he speaks in front of the Brandenberg Gate? And like Jck said, it’s up to the Mayor of Berlin…not the Bush Administration. So what if he accepts his party’s nomination in a stadium that can actually HOLD the numbers of people that will want to see it?

Can’t wait until he goes. It doesn’t matter if it’s setup to look good or bad in Iraq. Obama is still going to pull the troops out. The truth of the matter, because they are trying to keep him safe, there will be some places he can’t go or see, but then again, you also have to remember that things that may go on, may not be going on at the time he’s there. I don’t know much about Hagel, but if Obama chooses him, that’s fine. I’m still an Obama supporter.

I don’t know if it’s worth expressing my opinion. I’m amazed of how these politicians work. It’s Me first, me 2nd, and always Me.

But I’m even more amazed in the way some of us can go crazy for them.

Politicians are public servers who should be responsible for the best interest of every citizen. They are elected by the people and paid by the people. When people have low performance at their job, most of them, get fired. And when others perfomn beyond their duties, should get rewarded. It’s a matter of dignity and integrity.

Let’s be real and things will really change for the best interest of all.

    Thanks.

Has anyone else heard about the HUGE gaff McCain made??

He forgot his own story about which football team he told about while he was a POW. He used the Packers in his book yet while he was in Pittsburgh he said it was the Steelers.

Why aren’t we talking about this. MSNBC was all over it earlier but I can’t find anything here about it.

Someone needs to call him on this one I think. Either he is really getting forgetful or is he just using this as he thinks it will get him the most votes. Maybe next week it will be the Texans when he is in Houston, or the Cowboys when he is in Dallas.

Shawn, Lincoln, NE July 11th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

Senator Hagel seems to be a logical choice if what Obama says about moving past partisan politics is indeed true. He is as qualified as any possible Democrat being considered to date He served at the same time as McCain in Vietnam and can still think for himself. Its too bad that McCain is being spoonfed his lines as I have a lot of respect for him and his past efforts to be bi-partisan or a maverick as some put it. It would negate any advantage that McCain could claim as war hero or conservative and turn many so-called red states purple where all of America should be. Question though? Would Hagel have to change party affiliation to accept VP nomination? Anyone know the answer to that?

This is the problem that is tearing this country…too much individualism when it comes to key issues that we face together as humans. It isn’t all about you, Obama, McCain or anyone. THIS IS ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY. If you are TOO ignorant to see that the economy, the school system, jobs, homes are top issues we face in this trying time…DON’T VOTE. Obama happens to be a top grad at Harvard, and he knows more about what is realistic when it comes to politics than most of you ignorant peasants. There is evidently going to be a lot of focus on who Barack will name has his partner in this illustrious Dem ticket. I admire Chuck Hagel on his experience in foreign policy and would consider him or Joe Biden as my top two picks in regards to politicians who are essential for Obama to have onboard in hopes of sorting the foreign debacle we currently have in Iraq….

Keep in mind that even tho a “bi-partisan” ticket looks phenomenal on paper, Hagel is still a Republican. Besides foreign policy, a lot of his moral and economic stances favor the right-wing. I know this is a stretch but what if Obama becomes seriously ill and unable to perform his duties? The reigns go to a Republican who could shift the “change” America wants back the other way…

You are such a hypocrite. You say “Stop the Hating” but then you go on to bash several people. Typical liberal hypocrisy and ignorance. I guess I’m just “hating”…but at least I’m honest about it.

I am a Republican-leaning Independent, but I will probably vote for Obama. He doesn’t have the experience and is a bit superficial, but I think he can give the country a JFK-like shot of energy that we need right now. I also think we need a strong black leader that is not a cartoon like Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton and Obama will help with race relations….and I’m a white dude.

Also I can not stand that lying self-serving Gore, but he seems real popular with the left-wing and some otherwise intelligent people. Wouldn’t he be a good Obama VP choice due to his popularity?

It’s smart for Obama to travel to Iraq with two respected veterans. I’ve often thought Hagel could be an appealing VP for Obama. It coincides with Obama’s message of unity and political transcendence.

Reed is another great consideration along with many Democratic & Indepedent candidates [Biden, Kaine, Clinton (or Supreme Court Justice), Bloomberg, Sebelius, Bayh, Clark, etc.]. I trust Obama will make a wise choice for VP and fill his cabinet with members of all political backgrounds.

    Si se puede!

Give Me Liberty, Or Give Me Death July 11th, 2008 11:22 pm ET

I find it disheartening so many Obama supporters give Senator McCain a hard time for his age. Come on, folks, practice what you preach. If you really are leading a movement for change, act like it.

Agism, racism, and the like really don’t have much of a place in American politics anymore.

LOL!!! FactCheck you are so right on target. After I read NFIL Knoxville comment, I knew it was Brian from Knoxville, Tn.

Brian you can change your name all you want but we know your rhetoric. It’s easy to spot.

wow. the whole wide world in love with obama,,, step aside and in line for your tattoo on your forehead,,, the antichrist is awake and in line to run the world,,, wake up.. and smell the sulfer,,,, and i am not into static religion,,, who cares what a canadian, french, chinese,, and all the other nations, who speak of obama as the second coming…. think? denver awaits,, come to the light ,,, and ,

Please take Chuckie Hagel…he didn’t run for Congress again because he had NO chance of winning in a Republican district..this guy like Osama is badly over rated.

    c span watcher July 11th, 2008 11:31 pm ET

As an Independent… (thinking and otherwise).

I might be tempted to vote for NoBama if he had Chuck Hagel as VP.

HAGEL ROCKS. HE’S A NO BS, STAND-UP GUY.

    John July 11th, 2008 11:31 pm ET

I could easily see Hagel as a future Secretary of State, but I think Obama might consider an opposite-party VP to be a gimmick.

Still, anything to help this country heal and find its soul again after George W.

Rene Gonzalez July 11th, 2008 11:31 pm ET

Obama/Hagel would be a great ticket. I’m a liberal but ever since 2003 Hagel has had a buzz around him for a leadership position. His stance against Bush despite the GOP partisanship of the last 10 years.

    I Q July 11th, 2008 11:44 pm ET

What ever happened to the United States of America as opposed to the civil war between reps and dems? Its about time someone is uniting this country. 2 heads are always better than one ignorant one.

we did it $10,000.00 and growing me and my fund raiser exrodinaire Carol are celebrating doing ginger and fred on the dance floor…in a related thought below is a tribute to a person who showed the puma spirit before their was a puma:

our dear departed friend ann richards-texas most funnest gov. said..”if you ask us we can preform….after all ginger rogers did every thing fred astaire did…only she did it backwards and in high heels…..”

After she was amBushed in 1994 Ms Richards went on to persue her passion for championing the rights of those among us without a voice and riding her Harley as a good will ambassador….

To this day she is loved by millions of Texans because she reprensented the “Lone Star Spirit.”

We could have used Ann she loved and was loved by our Hillary…

I loved the Texas commercial hillary ran that was a tribute to Ann Richards who was our girls mentor…I real Lady and a Dame and a Broad what ever she had to be to get the job done! I felt like I knew her she was a PUMA she is channeling each of us…
Man we could use ann now! don’t you agree?

fyi, jesse jackson threatened violence against a presidential candidate and the Clintonistas applaud it. Why am I not surprised?

Considering the similarity of their comments, perhaps Jesse Jackson and Ralph Nader could join forces and unmask their liberal racism for all the world to see.
