Shift-Shaft, you’re no Patrick Swayze!

Posted on July 5th, 2008 in Piper in Pucci, Princess Wears Prada by hireheels

Obama, fresh from giving his progressive blogosphere groupies the shaft, is now busy wooing undecided swing voters to the dance floor. After shifting his position on campaign finance reform, Obama attempts more smooth moves than Patrick Swayze in piper_in_pucci_bylineDirty Dancing (though Johnny masterfully balances Baby in the final scene!).  Obama’s awkward shifts to the right of the political spectrum are so numerous, it’s more like watching Michael Jackson moonwalking sideways.  HireHeels asks: what, you just figured out that swing-dancers no likey-like two left feet?

Obama’s shifts giving the far-left the shaft are blatant and numerous:  granting
telecom immunity on FISA; admitting “heated rhetoric” on NAFTA; making “inartful” statements on the DC gun ban; siding with judges Alito, Scalia, and Thomas on the death penalty; and on his impending trip to Iraq: “I am going to do a thorough assessment when I’m there,” he said. “I’m sure I’ll have more information and continue to refine my policy.”princess_wears_prada_byline

Translation: That 16-month withdrawal promise that I made was just words.

On abortion: (hat tip to Jeralyn @ TalkLeft)
In an interview this week with “Relevant,” a Christian magazine, Obama said prohibitions on late-term abortions must contain “a strict, well defined exception for the health of the mother.”
Obama then added: “Now, I don’t think that ‘mental distress’ qualifies as the health of the mother. I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother carrying that child to term.”
I’m sure this sits well with NARAL.

Thanks a lot, Kos and Arianna. You got played. Obama used you up and kicked you to the curb when he was done with you. You fell for his smooth, sultry “hopey-changey” pick-up lines and laid down for him. Now we’re all doing the walk of shame in step.

Obamabots, this could be your Dancing With The Stars moment!

You remember Hillary, right? The dependable, wonky, pantsuited princess who did everything Precious did only backwards, uphill, blistered, battered, blindfolded and in heels! The gal that you all mercilessly smeared because she had the gall to stay in the dancehall ‘til the last dance.

Well, nobody puts Baby in a corner. She’s tanned, rested, and ready. And there’s 18 million of us who’ve still got her back. And it’s not too late to use your collective platforms (blogs, not shoes) to help sway public opinion in Hillary’s favor. Obama is not officially the nominee until the superdelegates cast their votes in Denver. If there is a tsunami of support for Hillary leading up to the convention, the superdelegates will put their fingers up in the air and feel that the political winds have shifted. You can still help make this happen. You can still say No Deal!

Or you can continue to embarrass yourselves by standing by your right-moonwalker after he’s left you for a hotter, more elusive voting bloc. It’s your call. Just know that as long as you continue to chase him unconditionally, you’ll compromise the progressive values that you proclaim to care so deeply about. Be careful. Don’t end up like poor, knocked-up Penny in Dirty Dancing.

It has just been temporarily usurped by the poser. What does it take to open American eyes? I am begining to understand why FDR didn’t tell everyone about the Pearl thing. Most of them would justhave said,”Oh it can’tbe THAT bad.” It was then, and it is now. Please wake up fellow Americans, you are not dreaming, this is not a drill, this is the future, and your inactivity is causing it to happen now.

Informal family polls of the 4th revealed that the McCain people would never even consider a vote for Hillary if she were on the ballot. So hrc backers should reconsider the threat to vote McCain. The backs-to-the-wall mentality is a motivator of many a knight who won his princess.

I don’t know that it makes any difference. We were never looking for any help from the Reps. There are probably some who would vote for Hillary, and probably a lot of Inds. but, primarily this is about taking back our party, and backing the woman who actually should have been the candidate.

Hey, no problem if you don’t like what “the one” is saying today, cause he’ll more than likely flip-flop and say the exact opposite tomorrow.

I imagine John Kerry is having an envy attack an hour. There he was giving long-winded, but nuanced responses and was called a serial flip-flopper.

Along comes Mr. Wonderful, flip-flopping his tiny little brains out and for the most part there is silence. Crickets even. He’s a flip-floppers flip-flopper and not even getting credit for being a constant flip-floppper.

Oh for the days of yore when the MSM hated all Democrats and called them for real or imaginined sins of ommision or commission.

Now media annoints the “one” and is still bitching about Bill and Hill not rushing to kiss his ring. It’s enough to make an old lefty weep. If I could stop cussing long enough.

Obama “clarifies” his position on abortion:

speaking to reporters on his campaign plane, obama said mental health exceptions—which are a real battleground issue in the abortion debate–can be “rigorously” limited to only those women with “serious clinical mental health diseases.” he said mental health exceptions are not intended permit abortions when a woman simply “doesn’t feel good.”

“it is not just a matter of feeling blue,” obama said.

here’s the problem with that, and why obama’s remarks are so startling. obama is trying to restrict abortions after 22 weeks to those women who have a serious disease or illness. but the law today also covers some women who are in “mental distress,” those women who would suffer emotional and psychological harm without an abortion.
this standard has long been understood to require less than “serious clinical mental health disease.” women today don’t have to show they are suffering from a “serious clinical mental health disease” or “mental illness” before getting an abortion post-viability, as obama now says is appropriate.

    BLACK NATIONAL ANTHEM-Contraversial or what?

    9NEWS.COM
posted by: Tiffani Lupenski July 2, 2008
NATIONAL ANTHEM STIRS CONTRAVERSY FOR CITY

DENVER - Mayor John Hickenlooper’s annual State of the City address may get more attention for what wasn’t included than what was.

At the start of the event Tuesday morning, City Council President Michael Hancock introduced singer Rene Marie to perform the national anthem.

Instead, she performed the song “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” which is also known as the “black national anthem.”
When she finished, the audience responded with mild applause. The national anthem was never performed.

Governor Bill Ritter (D-Colorado) discussed the incident on The Mike Rosen Show on 850 KOA on Wednesday morning, calling it “inappropriate.”
“I don’t think it’s fair artistic expression,” said Ritter.
Ritter went on to say he felt Marie’s actions were “wrong” and “outside the bounds.”
“It certainly is operating as a distraction,” said Ritter.

Marie told 9NEWS she kept her plans to switch songs quiet until the very last moment. She says only she, her husband and a friend knew she was going to sing something other than the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

She says she wanted to express her love of her country by mixing the lyrics of “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” with the melody of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

“When I decided to sing my version, what was going on in my head was: ‘I want to express how I feel about living in the United States, as a black woman, as a black person,’” said Marie.
Hickenlooper’s staff picked Marie to sing the national anthem. The mayor says he believes Marie did not intend to offend anyone or make a political statement.

When asked if he was offended, Hickenlooper said, “You know I was more confused and I think I was more ? what I was, was disappointed and confused and that’s why I wanted to talk to her.”
“Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” was written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson in 1899 and set to music by his brother in 1900.

City Councilman Charlie Brown took to talk radio Tuesday afternoon to criticize the absence of the national anthem at the State of the City proceedings.

“There is no substitute for the national anthem, period,” Brown said. “And that’s what really bothered me. You know when we fly the flag, the American flag, it’s always the highest flag, as it should be. And that didn’t come across today, that didn’t happen today.”
In hindsight, both Brown and Hickenlooper say they should have stopped Marie or began singing themselves.

Marie says if she had the benefit of doing it over, she would sing the same song.
When asked if she would apologize for what happened she said, “No I do not.”
Marie has been singing professionally for 10 years.
Brown says he doesn’t have a problem with people expressing their views, but he says Marie chose the wrong venue.

    BLACK NATIONAL ANTHEM
Below are the full lyrics to “Lift Ev’ry Voice & Sing”
    LIFT EV’RY VOICE AND SING

    “The Black National Anthem”
    by James Weldon Johnson
    Lift ev’ry voice and sing,
    Till earth and heaven ring.
    Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;
    Let our rejoicing rise,
    High as the list’ning skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,
    Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory is won.
    Stony the road we trod,
    Bitter the chast’ning rod,
    Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
    Yet with a steady beat,
    Have not our weary feet,
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,
    Out from the gloomy past,
Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.
    God of our weary years,
    God of our silent tears,
    Thou who has brought us thus far on the way;
Thou who has by Thy might,
    Led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee,
    Shadowed beneath thy hand,
    May we forever stand,
    True to our God,
    True to our native land.

The reason Clinton supporters will not vote for Obama is because they are embarrassed of him, his life, his unfair tactics and his beliefs. And they still don’t know all about him.

They don’t want a candidate that has been in a twenty year relationship with Reverend Wright and the Trinity United Church of Christ.

They don’t’ want a candidate that has a twenty year relationship with Father Pflaeger as his compass in life

They don’t want a candidate that went to a church that supports Louis Farrakhan, an anti Semitic racist.

They don’t want to defend Black Liberation theology.

They don’t want a candidate that lies about his relationship with Tony Rezko, the Syrian Criminal that sold his property to Obama and supported his campaign.

They don’t want a candidate that could work with a domestic terrorist, William Ayers.

They don’t want a candidate that Hamas supports.

They don’t want a candidate that Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam support

They don’t want a candidate that has a wife that has just now realized she was proud of our country.

They don’t want a candidate that denies Florida and Michigan their voices

They don’t want a candidate that mentions 57 states in his speeches. 50 states in the USA and 57 states in the Nation of Islam (IOC website)

They don’t want a candidate that fights unfair and steals Michigan delegate votes from his opponent.

They don’t want a candidate that feels sorry to leave a church that is anti American and that preaches hatred and racial views that are cruel and nasty.

They don’t want a candidate that is inexperienced.

They don’t want a candidate that considers it a loss to not to be able to attend his anti American, racist Church.

They don’t want a candidate that has a “non practicing” Muslim father, but avoids the entire discussion of his father.

They don’t’ want a candidate that won’t debate

They don’t’ want a candidate that misleads the youth with an ‘Obama girl and her behind in their face”

They don’t want a candidate that says he’s an African American and missed the MLK Remembrance Day and the Louisiana Black Caucus meeting

They don’t want a candidate that has done nothing for humanity except talk about it.

They don’t’ want a candidate that has poor judgment.

They don’t’ want a candidate named; Barack Hussein Obama

    He scares them to death.
    He is embarrassing.
    He is unelectable.

    - indeed, the black lib theology thang remains an issue for many Americans - as I put forth in my 2 Baptisms, A Wedding & A Funeral post…since it’s a church-goin’ day - i’ve excerpted for you ;-)

Ask yourself: Do you sincerely believe that Barack Obama (or his wife for that matter) is not at all influenced by Reverend Jeremiah Wright – even though his book and its title are inspired by the man and his sermons? Are you comfortable knowing that Obama continues to support and attend a church that views America through a “Black Liberation Theology” lens?

I am not the most pious princess, but I did go attend church the Sunday after 9-11. Are you sure Obama was not in Trinity that day? And even if he weren’t…and even if Wright’s anti-American rant were an isolated case, how could he not have heard about such a radical sermon on a day when even some agnostics attended religious services? Do you accept that he stayed with Trinity, even after Reverend Wright’s rant on September 16 immediately following the attacks on our country?

Does it make sense to you that he’d baptize his two precious girls there and can you imagine introducing such radical views into your own children’s impressionable universe?

Lastly, have you heard of Trinity’s three murdered gay, black male congregants in the span of 40 days a few months back? (for more on that, read: holy gay choir boy)

Good morning, a beautiful Sunday. I remember when all the stores were closed on Sunday; everyone went to church; and the radio played church music only. In fact, everything was closed. And I’m not even that old. Just so that you know, petitions and letters went to Cardinal George regarding that priest from Catholics. We were outraged. I spent the entire morning calling Cardinal George’s various offices to get his fax number, and sent him a letter. A lot of us did that. A petition circulated calling for the removal of that priest. In no time in my life have I ever been exposed to a priest like that. It is against our religion to discuss politics. It’s never been done in any church I have ever attended. EVER!! He is a disgrace. Too much more of him and the Pope will be receiving a letter. In fact, the Pope was contacted as well. O can very well deny the racist intent of his church; he can say he wasn’t there on certain days, but….certainly he knew the mission statement of that so called church. I suppose he never read that either. Unity removed the mission statement from their websites, but I copied and pasted it into a file before they removed it. O accepted their doctrine when he became their version of Christianity. They can use the doctrine of Christ as a cover to their intent, but that’s all it is. O wasn’t there to hear all his rants; he was absent on 9/11; but….he also claimed that he did not know that the headlines of every Chicago newspapers were announcing the pending indictment of Rezko when O entered into a house/land deal with him. Well, that’s pretty curious since attorneys read every paper in America every day. And now he has his faith based initiative. How much money has he promised Unity in order to keep Wright’s mouth closed? And that obnoxious priest? What about his church? Romney explained how his faith would or would not affect his presidency. President Kennedy did that as well. Now what about O? He just slides by with his radical views and twisted version of scriptures, which are bound to rear it’s ugly head right after he takes the oath of office. He gives his racism speech, his patriotism speech, but he has yet to deliver a speech on Liberation Theology, has an ad circulating with O at a podium in front of a huge cross. What was he trying to say with that photo, that Jesus was endorsing him? It is very sad that a presidential candidate has to go to these lengths to address real concerns about his patriotism and his Chrisitan beliefs. I’ve had my religious instruction, in fact, I’ve taught it; so I really don’t need to be preached to by a President of the US. That’s not the function of a President.

this post if for basketball fan and good friend sista-

Sorry so silent fuzzybear has been feelinng down last few days-a physical thing not a mental thing-but am feeling much better today. You guys have always kept me pumped up.

On blogtalkradio last week amember from one of the PUMA organizations said “…there are many ways to get to an Obama defeat in November..” all are valid we have to look at it like basketball.

There are one point, two point, and three point shots against the big “o”. Think of those who stay home or dont vote for president on their ballot as a one point shot against team obama. Those who vote third party or write in Hillary where allowed as a two point shot, and those who vote McCain as a three point shot.

We need to use all these shots to attain victory they are all equally important to getting the job done. If you do any one of the above choices you are playing for “Team PUMA” . You are helping us get past the final four. We are going to win this but we cannot win in overtime.

WE have to all play together as a well oiled and TEAM. It means respecting the other players on your team and throwing them the ball and trusting them to go down court with it.

I saw this in the NCAA Gator BBall team 2006/2007, that is what we have to be like. Not acting like one mind (the obamanation way) but each mind focused on what we can do to to contribute to the big Victory and respecting each players contribution to the effort.

So the question is what is fuzzybear going to do, a one, two, or three point shot? You all will have to wait and see depends what we need when I take that ball down the court in the last 3 seconds of the game.

Josgirl, we loves us shoe designs! Thanks for coming on board.

As for rumors and speculation about Obama’s reluctance to discuss an absent father and all that other personal stuff, I truly couldn’t give a damn. (Then again, I don’t exactly blow the family farm reading the tabloids, either.) I care about what he’s doing in his public life that worries me: the manipulation of the DNC, the insistence on his early coronation, the massive policy shifts contradicting his own stated aims; and so on. But here’s gossip I can really wrap my claws around: our fellow PUMA Riverdaughter says that Howard Dean seems to have fubar’d the actual convention. Mmmmm. Schadenfreude. Yummy!

  39. on July 6th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

manolo I know and now obama may have to foot the bill…only to watch his nomination slip through his fingers…and still his fundraising is falling falling and falling….makes you wonder how many of those primary dollars he raised were from republican hands that have now shifted their largesse to Sen.McCain?

These republican’s will also shift their $$$ to “non-affilliated” issue adverts that will be very anti obama….

I was watching david corn on one of the morning shows this morning talk about how bo’s patriotism is being questioned because he is black. um how about because he supported a church that spews anti american anti female and anti gay filth ad nauseum. this whole idea that you can’t disagree with him or question without being called racist is exhausting. i honestly do not think that there is any chance of getting hillary anywhere near this ticket much less on top. even if bo killed someone and kicked a puppy and they had to replace him. i think they would draft gore or edwards, their loathing of hillary knows no bounds. therefore i am selfishly hoarding my disdain and animus for the dnc. at a certain point it’s not about hillary it’s about the fact that the dnc leadership stole votes from citizens of this country and must be held accountable. it sucks because i live in washington state and we have a very ugly gubenatorial race going on between a rethuglican dirtbag and a pretty wonderful democrat (who endorsed bo) i would love to hold out my vote on this one as i will for the presidential race but the stakes in our state are too high. even though i no longer consider myself a democrat i’m still trying to figure out where to lend my civic volunteer hours and monetary donations. so far the humane society has been the beneficiary of my excess dollars which would have gone to the dnc this election cycle. what’s everyone else doing? i’m also taking up golf……………..

  41. on July 6th, 2008 at 1:58 pm

I believe, because senator obama is “vaginally challenged” (the pc term for it), he has one great hurdle he has to overcome before general election.

I would urge the senator to have this defficiency corrected as quickly as possible, if he wishes to be competitive in the General election. There are numerous clinics around the country that can perform this simple procedure, and as a necessary procedure it could be tax deductible for the amount that it exceedes 81/2% of his adjusted gross income.

Come on Senator since all your recent flipflops prove you are testicularly challenged(being pc again can you believe it), why not…

One more thing, I am knee deep in Seattle hipster fratbag territory i mean deeeeeeeep in the eye of the storm. But last sun at Gay Pride I was surprised at the level of Obamania. What has he done for the gay community lately or for that matter, ever? Am i missing something here? i did find one precious young gay guy who is a PUMA though! Yay! Anyhoo, does HRC(not hillary but the human rights council or whatever it’s called) rate candidates? I’d like to know what they have to say although I find them to be slightly disingenuous to begin with. From what i can tell he’s no friend to women and I doubt he has any allegiance or love for the gay community. 53. on July 6th, 2008 at 5:35 pm

    flowerchild2-

this i from a post I did awhile bacck feel free to share it with your brother:
(notice I wrote this on 3/24)

03/24 A gay obama supporter friend asked me why the gay community should support Hillary Clinton and I have answer which I would like to share with you all: The Clintons have made our issues their issues and for the first time in history candidate Bill Clinton said there is a place for you in my administration and he backed those words with action by appointing over 200 openly gay and lesbian citizens to his administration.

He had first gay person as ambassador to Luxembourg (Luxembourg also had the first African American woman ambassador) and appointed us to the federal courts. President Clinton took hits for us and expended political capital on us. Even when he lost the gays in the military vote he still made a place at the table for us.

Hillary will do no less - she led the fight to stop the anti-gay marriage amendment to the constitution. She has openly gay and lesbian advisors working on issues of gay youth.

Obama? What has he done for us in the last year? I am betting on the person that has a proven track record for us. Not someone who’s only acknowledgement of us was in an elegantly written keynote speech “…and we have some gay friends in red states”…duh- I live in republican Florida! While he is a charismatic speaker, he has missed 144 votes in the senate and actually voted incorrectly on over a dozen occasions -maybe he will accidentally veto ENDA in error? Because it is politically expedient.

On being a Uniter: Being a uniter is a good thing, but there are sometimes when you have to have the moral courage and fiber to be a divider of the house. There are occasions when you will have no common ground, where you are right and the opponent is wrong, you must stand your ground, where no compromise is acceptable. You have to be ready for that moment and you have to draw your line in the sand and say I cannot abide on this we must part ways. I do not see that in Barak Obama he will fail when that time comes.

Hi everyone! I’m a disillusioned conservative that is planning to hold my nose when i vote for mccain this fall, but no matter who gets elected, it will be someone left of center, so you should all be happy about that. Having said that, I hope, and I pray, that Hillary can get back in this thing. I don’t like her politics or politics of the dem party in general (and i’m beginning to dislike the unprincipled republican “neocon” milquetoast wussies just as much), but I know I will be able to sleep at night with her in charge, unlike if Obama was the POTUS. I can live with either Mccain or clinton as president, but I don’t think this nation could survive having such a blatant marxist like obama in charge. and make no mistake, he is a blatant marxist. his “mainstream media” propaganda machine won’t report that, but even a cursory study of obama makes that obvious. both parties are moving towards socialism, and i think that’s unhealthy for this republic, but i’d rather be ruled over by a socialist like hillary or mccain than a militant black communist like obama, which is essentially what “black liberation theology” is all about. There is a groundswell of opposition to obama coming from many different angles, and i hope enough people will wake up by november. i’d be thrilled to vote for a black man or woman for prez, but i will not vote for a comitted communist with an angry, hate filled wife that hates this nation. I am currently sending donations whenever i can to ltc. allen west in florida as he runs for a congressional seat this fall. he is a black conservative badass, and a man who gets it, unlike that lying shapeshifter obama.aside from all that, i’ve always had a crush on hillary anyway, and wouldn’t mind seeing such a cute babe win the white house for once. A lot of women liked bill because they thought he was “cute,” well, I think Hillary is, and if she wins, meh, i can think of worse things that could happen (like an obama presidency). also, in her own way, i think hillary would be a foreign policy badgirl and would have the mullahs quaking in their sandals. i don’t think she would play games when it comes to responding to anything militarily, and i also believe she would give us a responsible withdrawal from iraq, unlike the manchurian muslim, obama. so rock on everyone, and hopefully when this nation elects a minority as president, it will be someone we can trust and someone who deserves our collective respect, unlike this enemy within, Obama. there are soooo many things wrong with obama. it hs nothing whatsoever to do with his skin, and everything to do with his shady past, his shady beliefs, and his attempt to be a chamelion on every issue. the man is dangerous..

  70. chris said,

    on July 7th, 2008 at 7:09 am

btw, as a follow up, i’m constantly arguing with fellow conservatives about this election. they say we should hope for an obama presidency which will cause the republocrats to shift back to the right and become republicans again, such as after jimmy carter’s disastrous presidency, but they are delusional. my fear is that obama is so extreme and so greased through the chicago political machine, and so protected and sheltered by the media, that i believe that life as we know it will end under an obama presidency. i tell my conservative buddies to have fun moving out to the wilderness, cooking beans over a fire, and talking about how great their little conservative clique is while america falls apart around them during an obama presidency. i also believe that if hillary somehow wrests the nomination away from obama, we are going to see major civil unrest throughout this nation, so be prepared for that if it happens, but civil unrest is far preferable to civil war, which is what i think an obama presidency will lead to.

  71. on July 7th, 2008 at 7:17 am

Well look how the worm begins to turn Glen Beck defending Hillary? Sorry Bozo where wer you when it counted right beside the bashers holding Keith Obermanns hand handing him his meds.

Glen if you play real nice between now and november the president clinton may send you a cookie.

when hillary secures the nomination in denver-since it appears enough SD are waking up to the fact tha BHO is not “the one”, she must not be forced to take bho as a running mate that would be a nightmare. the reason he “is not likeable enough anymore.”

Maybe she could convince colin powell to come out of retirement and take the VP slot -he s truely loved by all americans and this would be a good slap in the face to ol’ “w” for feeding him false info on wmd in iraq-like he did to the congress.

Thomas Sowell wrote in “An Old Newness” about the differece between winning honorable and winning through a technicality. Obama’s technical wins are legend and very much admired by his followers because of his “shrewdness.” Most small ‘d’ Americans would much rather see someone, themsevles included, win on the merits of their personal best, not win because they outsmarted (as in “smarty pants”) their rival. If a world-class runner won the gold because their primary competitor suffered a twisted ankle at the starting block, would we be satisfied to consider him or her the best in the world? probably not. We’d want to see these two people run the race on their best days. And so would the runner who ran the race. Because that person would also know that that sort of win is hollow and meaningless. Only a wannebe with a slim resume and a history of running races without real competition or the one who uses highly questionable technical tactics to secure an advatage would be happy with that kind of “win.”

So to say that barack obama “won” and “neener, neener, neener,” shows stunted maturity and an overwhelming lack of moral conscience. If nothing else, it’s not the way Americans in a democracy count their wins.

For more on this see Thomas Sowell’s essays at townhall.com

just like there was no difference between Bush & Gore? Get off the crack, michael. you know how different things would be if Gore was the man. Instead we got W, who has gone ape sh*t the past 8 years and tried to put us on a path to annihilation. Now instead of anything positive Bill did with the economy, it has gone to hell in a handbasket. Now my 5 year old is going to be paying off for his dumbsh*t mistakes while his kids are throwing shwanky weddings and posing with guns. Don’t say there isn’t any difference. It is shameful what this group is trying to pull off. There is nothing but innuendo and rumor mongering on this site just b/c she lost.

SHE LOST. She ran a crappy campaign and got terrible campaign advice. Don’t blame advice for her being a terrible campaign manager.

Obama is going to win. SO dont get on the bandwagon when he does because we don’t need backstabbers like you.

absolutely the lowest of the low. how can you claim to support someone and then turn your back on them? but thats the difference between us, right?

    boogie.

I’m tired of loss after loss after loss. We’ve (us democrats) come so close only to see it get away. And that is discouraging.

I honestly believe if Gore would have been president, the discourse and discussions that we are having about the environment would be so much better informed now, instead of starting from scratch once a democrat is elected. That is eight years that have been pissed down the drain. Nader was able to pull votes b/c he (with Gore’s help) convinced enough folks that there was no real difference between Gore & Bush. After 8 years, I believe that assumption has been proven wrong time and again.

I, on the other hand, don’t believe that hope & change is “bs”. Obama has consistently delivered some of the best political speeches I have ever heard in my life and that is inspiring. Bush on the other hand has books made out his stupid comments and if its something important, like torture, no one in his administration can remember anything at all or can conveniently delete everything without consequence.

So I do have hope that O can change things. Is he gonna do everything perfectly? No. But the differences between O & HRC are not that different.

This election was not handed to him. Just like HRC faced sexism, being a black candidate was not a bowl of cherries (see W. Virginia & Kentucky, Texas).

So if you want to see the policies I support, just look at hrc because they aren’t that different from Os.

If hrc came to you in person and asked you to vote for O, would you tell her that you can’t because:

“His racist wife that looks just like a bull dog in the face” or that

“Soros, Hamas,The DNC,the Palastian groups, even Kim Jong ill, Khadify,Castro, and Farrakhan, so many of these terrorist Jihadi Islam, communist groups support Obama”

    or

“Obama is a bore in every way not to mention such a liar and disgrace to America”

I don’t find him boring or a disgrace. He is more up front and honest with folks than he gets credit for on this page.

We finally have a person of color, accepting the democratic nomination for president of the united states on the anniversary of the day MLK gave his I have a dream speech. As a person of color, this is the promised land.

Hillary asked for your support. She is your gal and you ought to support her through think and thin.

I would not vote for Obama even if he chose her as VP. He is way too scary and being a Democrat is not important to me but my country and my family sure is. I have told you why I would not vote for him all except I forgot to say he hangs around with “racist” preachers and has no experience.

tbone, please don’t try to spread that sybolic “person of color” crap anywhere near me.
I am a person of color, in fact i am black.
I find this whole schmaltzy (yeah, i said that) happy crappy about obama’s skin color to be highly offensive.
you know what they call it when a person of color is elevated to a position of prominence primarily on the basis of pigmentation?
    Tokenism.
That’s one of the saddest legacies of the Kennedy administration.
That’s why during said administration the prominent civil rights leaders of the day came together in one of the largest peaceful protest demonstrations ever held and demanded that the government “honor it’s bad check to the negro (black america).”
That check was not honored in JFK’s lifetime.
    LBJ “got the job done.”
The man who made the demand?
Martin Luther King in the first part of his “I have a dream” speech.
So i am not interested in honoring the symbolism of MLK’s legacy, i am more concerned with whether the content of his character indicates that he can “get the job done.”

I have wished along with many of their other supporters here that they would just leave the Democrat Party and become Independents but they never will do that.
I myself have registed now as an Independent and will be voting for John McCain if Hillary does not become the nominee but I believe she will.

gee, last time I looked O was out touring the country as the democratic nominee. I must have missed something. nope, i just checked again.

you mean to say, that as a person of color, your not just a little eensy teensy weensy bit happy, jumping up and down - screaming at the top of your lungs happy, that our choices for president now legitimately include people of all races and gender. O won based on the content of his character just like Hillary lost on hers.

TBone, sorry I butted in on your conversation but as josgirl said if you want a private chat, go call the other obots you know. This is a public forum. It appears that our choice did not include a woman so I would not include gender in that but yes our choice has always been for the person who is experienced, knowledgeable with integrity and character and Obama fits none of those categories. Obama is nothing but what the media created he stands for nothing but what he believes the people around him want to hear. The last words you quoted were stellar he is telling each and every one you to not think for yourself for those who have put words in my mouth are thinking for you.

mostly he is telling you t-bone, that we don’t believe you should be trusted with your own thought or ideas no take mine and supress your on ideas. your thoughts are so below mine(and my speech writers) that you cannot begin to comprehend them.

t-bone read george orwell’s 1984 and specially the appendix on the principles of “newspeak” . obama has read the principles of newspeak and the principle of ingsoc. you are living proof that they work on the dim and gullible. if you want to look at what america will be like under obama look at the land of oceania in orwells book that is the change and hope obama brings.

You are slacking off again bra, everything that comes out of your post despite of the unuttered motive and reason reveals it. Your reasoning behind your choosing of obama are every bit of everything we stand against on this collation but, ya we are a bunch of backstabber.

1.) the Democratic party must win despite of the consequences revealed in front of you? Never mind country and everything we uphold as long obama win is what you’re saying.

There is no “we” in this for us, becauase we don’t want him and his radical views along with the remainder that controls him…for a moment. We “us” don’t fight monster to become monster like you. We fight to uphold our values and belief that moral behaviors are the best way of the course for justice to be served.

    2.) Colors?

When is that the distinction for this level of requirement in the mind of many? I can honestly say, that Gen. Collin Powell would make an excellent choice to lead this country. Hell Bill cosby would have make a better president than obama. Are you blind? The funny thing is that you are contradicting yourself by not saying it out loud. Just say you want a black president so that your hope and change will materialize as if it was all intangible to begin with with all the success story of all the afro-american on this country. You guys are so full of shit! Just look at how many people are coming out of the wood work lately and yet you justify this as Audacity of change, for whom?

3.)I’m just curious to see how many ways people can justify being a backstabber.

For our country? call it what you like. In the end, we will remained loyal to our country first and that is one of the top requirement among many other duty that she may required of her citizens. America is not for sale T-Bone nor should you give it to harms way if you are proud and love this country.

Imagine, for one moment, that it had been Barack Obama instead of John McCain who had cheated on his wife by having multiple affairs. Suppose it was Barack Obama who had married his mistress, a younger heiress of a billion dollar beer empire only a month after the ink was dry on the divorce papers. Pretend it was Michelle Obama instead of Cindy McCain who had been so addicted to painkillers that she stole money from her own charity and had been investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The vilifications, smears, and berating from conservatives would be louder than a 747 takeoff. The castigating and crucifixions by the Limbaughs and O’Reillys and Puma’s of the world would never end. Faux piety and bellicosity from the pumped up blowhards in the religious right would flow harder than the flooding waters of the Mississippi.

Welcome back jzg: we allow supporters of all candidates (or no candidates) to comment on hireheels.com unless their posts contain hateful language, abuse or profanity. We believe in democracy here.
HireHeels has not endorsed senator mccain, so don’t make sweeping statements like, “so, now that we know you all support mccain…” without your facts. Thank you and carry on.

    Rey,

“We “us” don’t fight monster to become monster like you.”

what the hell does that even mean? I can’t even argue with you, I don’t know what you are taking about.

Justz - these folks are wacky on the junk…and don’t understand that being a friend means sticking by someone in good times and bad.

don’t turn your back on them…

you’re right, sista, hh hasn’t endorsed mmccain, and I apologize - it’s merely most of your non-headlining commentors who have said mccain in 08, specifically to slap the dnc like your candidate was slapped.

however, whatever the letter of your words here (the headliners), the tone of most of the people who comment is that the only good current front runner for hrc supporters to vote for is mccain.

while _you_ may not have ever intended your site to be a mccain support group, look at many of the comments, and tell me - would an impartial observer think the undercurrent is “support mcain”?

tbone - i already know who to trust and not to trust - because, according to a few of the non-headliners who shout the loudest, anyone who comments against mccain is obviously a paid obama supporter.

i’m surprised a number of the hrc supporters who have said, here, that they don’t trust mccain either, haven’t gotten called paid obama bots.

being a friend may mean sticking by someone in good and bad, but being a good friend means telling your friend “man, you screwed up,” and helping them get fixed.

I turn my back on no one, t-bone - i’ve seen how rey treats people with legitimate questions - denigrating them, using diminutives (little boy, young man etc, kind of sounds like sweetie in my book).

We did lift some nasty comments by a mccain supporter off the blog yesterday jzg. and we don’t purge spirited comments from you or our little steak either– sometimes arguments get a tad petty, but you both saw from the get-go that we are pro hillary (as it says so on the front page)… so natch the territory would not be easy terrain to traverse for you. and compared to the extremely hateful comments and attacks that princess and I have personally received on other blogs (ones that we haven’t even visited to stir pots on btw), i think you and the rest of the bo supporters have been treated quite decently. You should see what your cowardly bo peeps email us privately— I’m too much of a lady to utter such filth.
enough with this administrative folderol, enjoy the debate and your day my hireheels crew.

Boys, boys, boys…calm down.Yes, a lot of us will vote for McCain if the DNC continues its merry romp to totalitarianism, however, that doesn’t mean that he is our favored candidate, just the lesser of the evils.
Now, when you start carrying on about all the bad McCain issues, let’ just say, to be nice, that you have your head someplace it shouldn’t anatomically be. Please remove it before you operate heavy equipment, No proof of JM calling his wife the bad word, no proof of the numerous affairs, no proof of theft from the charity.
On the other hand, lots of proof of black racism, lots of proof of do-nothing politicking in Illinois, lots of proof of ties to communism, lots of proof of ties to domestic terrorism, lots of proof of ties to shady, backroom money dealers in Chicago. Lots of comments amounting to threats of violence in the streets if HRC got the nomination, and all kinds of rumors about deaths, and drugs, and gay liasons ( personally never minded them), and a lot of shady campaigning, voter fraud, fundraising fraud, caucus intimidation, and the outright theft of votes from Florida and Michigan,
I won’t even mention the MSM in this, they were. and are. on their own, don’t think he bought them, don’t think he had to.
Lastly, let’s actually look at what the uniter is doing to race relations in the USA. 90% of black Americans voting in the Dem. primaries, voted for BO, because of hope and change? Because of his outstanding record of helping his Chicago district? Because of all his work in the U,S. Senate? Because of his policies (stolen about a week after HRC would announce them)? No, they voted for him because he is black. Race was the defining reason, nothing else mattered. Not that they were women, not that they were workers, not that they had young chidren benifitting from all of HRC’s hard work. Just because he is black. So, they said to the world, “nothing else matters” Then what can we have in common? If we can’t understand the black religious experience because we are white, and we can’t understand what BO is all about because we are white, then how can he govern a country that is only !6% black? Either we all have alot more in common, and this was BS, or we have nothing in common and he can’t possibly be the Pres.. Make up your mind.
This is long, so I will cut to the chase. There are a whole lot of reasons to dislike BO and to distrust BO, and not nearly so many for John McCain. I will always resent him for making me accept Fox News as fair and balanced. I will always resent him for taking my Dem. party and making it the antithesis of what it was. That was Shirley Chisholm’s party, and Barbara Jordan’s party, and Ann Richard’s party. Mostly I will resent him for making it difficult for my black friends and I to see each other the way we used to. I have the utmost respet for the 10% who were not bullied into following blindly. You disrespected most of your elected leaders in the black community. They were the people standing on the dias with Hillary, the people who worked for and helped you for years. So were the Clintons, and I would have to think that white politicians will think long and hard before they put themselves out like that again, for a group that can turn so blindly and completely.
With this off my chest, just remember guys, we may look soft and cuddly, but most women are made of steel, you try walking in heels for ten hours a day!

I surfed by MSNBC this AM to hear Joe Scarborough saying that it has been a mistake for the dems not to offer proof of their Christianity in previous elections. He suggested that O talks about Jesus and Christianity.. I e-mailed Joe my reaction… Actually, I think that’s a great idea. I am waiting for O to address his “version” of Christianity. I would like him to explain how he interprets scripture, defining Christ as a poor Black man from Africa, and that Liberation Theologians believe they are the chosen people. Actually, Jesus was not poor. In his day, his father was a carpenter, which means he had a trade, and that puts him in the middle working class of the day. We can assume Jesus had quite a tan, but my scripture says He is a Jew. As far as the chosen people….no, I think the Jews might have problems with that one as well. But my very favorite is the following from the mission statement of trinity….When O was “saved”, he was called to Christ according to the following doctrine. “for God who is not pleased with Americas economic mal-distribution! W.E.B. DuBois indicated that the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line. He was absolutely correct. Our job as servants of God is to address that problem and eradicate it in the name of Him who came for the whole world by calling all men, women, boys and girls to Christ.”

Since there is nothing in the scriptures that point to America, economy, or color line. W.E.B DuBois must have had a private conversation with God.

    Howdy…

I thought I’d throw my two bits in… this place is just too fascinating to stay off for long.

First off, hats off to the cool chicas in heels, the moderators of this site I would all be proud to call friends, I’m here because I had the distinct pleasure of conversating with Princess in the city of Brotherly Love.

Two, I can say with complete certainty, that if the fellas.. American soldier, justiz had said anything as vitriolic as we are exposed to by rey and mr. marvel, we would be immediately and continuously deleted. I believe most of our intent has not been to convert you all to voting for Obama, but to get you to look at all of the candidates with same eyes, and reasonably, rationally take a look at all of the pros and cons of the candidates.. and realize that they are all flawed, and all part of the same, corrupt system.

Yes, given the choice between BO and HRC, I voted BO.
Given the choice between morphine and asprin before a construction worker takes a jackhammer to my chest, I choose morphine.

Why did I pick Barack Obama? Partly because he’s new, and had a possibility of being different, but also, partly because he is mixed, raised by a white mother, intellectual, given to long speeches, and has racial identity issues. But recent issues, like FISA, like voting to continue funding Iraq, and the AIPAC kowtowing, bring me to my original conclusion, to get to where they are, they must sell out.
