Arianna In a Huff over Barry’s Shift!

Posted on July 2nd, 2008 in Piper in Pucci by hireheels

After 17 months of crushing and gushing on Obama while simultaneously flushing out Hillary, the Greek Goddess of Obamania writes a stunner criticizing her Idol for dumping his loyal, trusting base for a sexier, more unattainable demographic: the undecided swing voter.

“…the Obama campaign is making a very serious mistake. Tacking to the center is a losing strategy. And don’t let the latest head-to-head poll numbers lull you the way they lulled Hillary Clinton in December. Running to the middle in an attempt to attract undecided swing voters didn’t work for Al Gore in 2000. It didn’t work for John Kerry in 2004. And it didn’t work when Mark Penn (obsessed with his “microtrends” and missing the megatrend) convinced Hillary Clinton to do it in 2008.”

(Of course no HuffPo post is complete without the obligatory slam on Hillary. Jealous much, Arianna? Have you ever passed legislation or had 18 million people vote for you? No? Pity. But I digress.)
piper_in_pucci_byline

Why are you shocked, Arianna? You of all people should know how volatile mythological love affairs are!  Did you really think that he was The One you’d been waiting for? Did you honestly believe that you two had a hopey-changey future together complete with campaign public financing and telecom accountability? Tsk-tsk.We at hireheels expect naivete from mere mortals, but the Goddess of Obamania!?!?  You’ve been around the heavens long enough to know that when a dude as smooth, shifty and sexy as Barack gets what he wants from you that he’s bound to move on to the next alluring voting bloc playing hard to get. Apparently, they think that relaxed gun laws and enforcement of the death penalty is hot.

Now I hate to say I told you so A, but the signs were there all along. You should have suspected something when his peeps Samantha Power and Austin Goolsbee were saying one thing while Barack was whispering something else in your ear. I guess that you were too blinded by fantasies of a 16-month troop withdrawal and NAFTA opt-out clauses to notice.

There, there, Arianna, it’s not all your fault. Sure, you may have let him get into your ballot box a little too easily without proper vetting. And maybe you could have played coy for a while and let him pursue you a tad longer before giving up your endorsement to him. But what’s done is done. Now he knows that he can have you whenever he wants you no matter what he does, so he’s playing the field.

So Arianna, you best gather up your stockings and stilettos to make room for the next swing stater that Obama tries to bed. But be sure to wait by the phone, because I’m sure you’ll get a booty call from him whenever his poll numbers start to drop.

    Dear tbone,
(I guess the name says it all) Perhaps to you winning the majority of the popular vote, winning in every veue where it was up and up voting, is crappy results, but most of us weren’t looking for just a win. We were looking for an honorable win. Too complicated an idea dor you..

Tbone, Hillary won 300,000 more votes than Obama. HIllary won all the big swing states: Ohio, PA, CA, FL so on and so forth! Tbone, the superdelegates decision will not be final until August. Tbone, obamabots like you will keep democrats like me, voting, campaigning and donating to John McCain.

To all Obama lovers, the more you degrade Hillary the more determined you make her supporters. For every insult, you will drive two people who’ve never voted republican to vote republican. I”m a black female and I will gladly vote and campaign for McCain before supporting Obama! Eat those my friends. This is America…not some dictatorship..we still have free speech and a right to vote as we please.

Dear Tbone and your fellow obamabots:

Hillary supporters such as myself look forward to voting Mccain for many reasons including the ones listed below:

Myth: McCain will reverse Roe V Wade so abortion will be illegal and women’s rights will be reversed!

TRUTH: The president of the United States does NOT have the power to reverse judgments of the Supreme Court1. The president appoints Supreme Court Justices. It is possible that McCain could try to appoint conservative anti-abortion judges, but the DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS MUST ratify or approve those judges. In other words, McCain could attempt to appoint anti-abortion judges, but those judges would be stopped by the democratic members of the Congress and Senate. Therefore, McCain reversing Roe v Wade is a BIG LIE. By the way, if Bush was not able to reverse Roe v. Wade with a Republican House and Senate, I don’t think McCain would be successful.

  5. Johnnie said,

tbone, you need to read more.

The superdelegates decision will not be final until august. Technically they could still vote for Hillary. Neither obama or hillary has enough delegates without the supers to secure the nomination so superdelegates must decide. My decision like millions of others is final…I will vote McCain!! I’m black but my color doesn’t make me qualified to do anything. I don’t like Obama’s plans, his lies or what he’s done here in Chicago. Just yesterday our taxes rose to 10.25%!

Hillary won 300,000 more votes plus she won the main swing states. Red states are red, blue states are blue. Meaning republican states will vote republican. Democratic states will vote democratic. swing states are critical because they could go either way.

Tbone, until after the convention, no one has officially won anything. I, like millions of others will be voting McCain. YOu may be a brainwashed black person slavishly loyal to the democratic party, but I aint! Liberalism, the victim mentality and the welfare system have done tremendous harm to the community. I won’t even get into Malcom X and his opinion of Dixicrats.

If obama is the nominee, mccain has my vote. Your ignorance here on this board only further solidifies my support of McCain. There are millions of us and we are organizing.

Tbone, we are Americans first. You may have slavemaster devotion to a political party but we do not. Obama has flip flopped on ever single issue and his support of the Bush/Cheney energy bill tells me exactly where he’s going.

You’re arguing a moot point. We are not slaves…you may be but we are not slaves to the DNC. AT first the DNC said the candidate who wins the popular vote should be the nominee and then they change the rules. TBone, the decision remains unofficial and things could change before august. in either case, since the dnc no longer cares about the will of the people. us people are moving on …in the millions!

I am an American first. The will of the American people is what should matter. The DNC has acted against the will of the people so we have decided millions of us that the DNC no longer represents us.

I used to be uber loyal to the party but then I saw what the loyalities cost in the black community. I will vote mccain and the more insults or snide comments you hurl, the more and more I will stand by my decision.

now there will be the Mc Cain Dems
Obama asked for 50% rep of the vote in Florida, counted undecided votes for Obama in Michigan.
    ie. selected not elected.
Count all the votes and put Hilary on the Ballot in Denver.
We will vote against the DNC in November.
Also we truly believe Mc Cain is readier than Obama, but we miss Hilary terribly.

one more - action alert … easy to do

Debra Bartoshevich is a Wisconson delegate for Hillary that declared she would vote for Hillary at the convention, but McCain in November because Obama lacks the qualifications to become President.

You may know that the Democratic Party of Wisconson is now trying to strip her delegate status.

Please help Debra by writing to the Democratic Party Chair and letting them know how you feel about punishing someone that supports Hillary Clinton:

You may know that the Democratic Party of Wisconson is now trying to strip her delegate status.

Not like I’m inclined to throw tbone a bone, but the state party may be within its rights to take that action. I know state committee members who had to give up their seats when they came into conflict somehow with the support-Dems rule–for example, one person accepted a job that included advocating for officials from both parties, so that person resigned the seat (thus keeping open the option of getting it again when the job picture changes). If you sign on as a delegate, committee member, etc., part of the package is your pledge to support that party, at least publicly. What she does in the voting booth is her business, but she would have been better off keeping that inclination to herself.

T-bone, BTW, I’m nervous about Obama in this role as the presumed presidential nominee. I think he may have developed into a politician with more backbone and substance given more time and incentive (read: pressure) to do so. Had the situation played out to allow that process, I might have easily thought better of him. But that’s not what’s happening now.

if time for the process to work out is the best indicator of who would be the best president, mcdaddy should win. he cetainly put his time in. however, his only idea is to “stay the course”.

No, Senator Clinton actually votes. Obama skips votes, takes credit for passing bills when he was not at the roll call, voted present 138 times, avoiding taking a stand; and was chewed out on the US Senate for faking he made a mistake on a vote and wanted it changed. In the IL Senate, his collegues described him as a boxer who stands at the sidelines, but never gets into the ring. Then there was his all infamous, “I was against the war from the beginning” claim to fame. The man was in the IL legislature and did not have the power to vote. But….he did vote twice, to fund the war, so that nullifies his, “I was against the war from the beggining”, claim. A true rebel, a true war protestor, would have had the courage to challenge his party on the war, way, way before he started running for President. He’s a follower, not a leader.

Akron, I don’t know the partics of Wisconsin’s rules, but if it’s like the ones I’m vaguely familiar with, the state party elects delegates, and she’d be bound by whatever rules the electing body laid out before her election. I’m going to try to dig out the real facts, but I think having HRC on the rollcall in Denver is a separate issue from whether the Wisconsin state committee can remove an elected delegate for breaking their rules by publicly supporting a candidate from another party.
