HireHeels & PUMAs Say, NO DEAL to Stupid Pet Tricks!
The other night Governor Ed Rendell’s handwrote the credo to the counter movement HOUND (Hillary-Obama-United-Not-Divided) on a legal pad and handed it off to his press secretary (Chuck) for typing and distribution. Lucky Ed… to have perks like limos, press secretaries, probably a PJ— that’s private jet— not pajamas and a mansion. I have no such perks, I’m just a hard-working chic trying to make a buck to keep a roof over my head at my day job, whilst I volunteer my time all night long trying to set this country straight!
While we thank the Governor for recognizing us as a fluid, viral, viable and ever growing movement— we hireheels chics and all PUMA members of the Just Say No Deal Coalition want to respectfully point out that Governor Rendell and his crew, when asking us to fall in line and back Senator Obama are really missing the point.![]()
The philosophy on which the Just Say No Deal Coalition was founded is plainly stated as this:
We, as millions of disaffected voters or PUMAs have banded together to form a Coalition of the unwilling. We fervently believe in Country Before Party. If political parties won’t uphold core democratic principles, who will? If the voters don’t hold the parties accountable, who will?
The answer, “We (PUMAs) will at all costs!”
Governor Rendell does get kudos for recognizing the following:
“We agree with many of your grievances. For example, we, too, believe that the Democratic Party’s nominating process is unfair and undemocratic. We must change the policy where some votes are more important than others and some areas receive more delegates than their number of voters would justify – it violates the spirit of “one person, one vote.” We must eliminate caucuses that are inherently undemocratic and disenfranchise seniors (no absentee voting for those who can’t go to the polls), shift workers and our military. Forcing people to declare their preference in public also violates another cherished principle that undermines our democracy.”
Ed, we PUMAs appreciate the heartfelt recognition of Just Say No Deal, but dude— you are way too late to ask us out on a date this year— even if you do offer to pick us up in your shiny PJ and whisk us off to some exotic locale. The damage has already been done. We will not fall in line. We will not support your bad boy Democratic Party nominee that was selected with a flawed voting process. Reform the process, then try to win our hearts back in 2012.
Finally Governor Rendell be advised— we are savvier and sassier than you think, so don’t pull an “Ass-elrod” and try and diss us with condescending quips like this:
“So, we are asking all PUMA members to curb your disappointment, mute your anger and frustration and join HOUND to help change America. While the PUMA may be more swift and athletic, the HOUND is smarter and more perceptive.”
Again Governor Rendell and crew— you have missed the point— perhaps a little Scooby Snack will beef up your electrolytes get your brains back on track. Insulting or undermining us by saying that we have less perception or smarts than you do is counterproductive. We are a diverse group of voters representing ALL ages. We come from all ethnic, socio-economic, religious, political and academic backgrounds; we unite to say (once again), “COUNTRY before PARTY!”
We will not support Senator Obama now or on November 4, 2008. Senator Clinton’s vote is her own; our votes are our own and they will not be cast for Senator Obama. Just Say No Deal’s voices are over 2 million strong and growing. Perhaps our bud over at NoQuarterUSA penned it best with this little ditty: “H.O.U.N.D. = Heck, Obama’s Unqualified, No Deal!”

Even after ’suspending’ her campaign, Hillary continues to receive contributions. Many PUMAs are working tirelessly to retire Hillary’s campaign debt.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama’s fundraising totals continue to decrease.

Affirmative Action and Racism: I haven’t been able to bring this up because I did not know the person who made the admission at the RBC meeting, but today I was reading a post on PUMA regarding the RBC and the committee member was named in her comment. The committee member is Senator Carl Levine.
At the RBC meeting, Senator Levine let it slip that state voting order was selected according to the states with heavy populations of Black Americans. The reason he gave was to allow Black Americans the opportunity to vote first and affect the contest outcome. MI and FL pushed back their primaries and went ahead of NV and NM. One can conclude that by doing this, MI and FL unknowingly disrupted the order and infuriated the party. If you recall, the entire primary season the wins by Clinton in MI and FL were ignored and discounted. By doing so it continued to perpetuate the myth that Obama was in the lead and Clinton was losing. To further complicate their grand design, Clinton went on to win FL, MI, NV, and NM. They must have been expecting a huge win in NM. It took them days and days to count those votes; they did not want to concede that state to Clinton.
What this all suggests is that the Black leaders in the party apparently thought that scheduling the states in this particular order was needed to elect a Black President. At the meeting while Clinton’s delegates were being stolen from Clinton’s win in MI and given to O, Mr. Ikes called that action an example of Affirmative Action.
As a consequence, we have what we have. A Black President with the least credentials of any candidate in either my lifetime, my parents lifetime, or grandparents lifetimes. This country has never nominated a one year junior senator, who has spent more time campaigning than working. By specifically selecting one race over all the races represented in America, this alone is an act of prejudice. Why? Why not select a Mexican American, an Asian American, a Chinese American, a Native American? Native Americans were here before any of us, were they not? By rights, they should be pre-selected first. Think about their history…..genocide!!!
To “visitors’ on this site, who continue to call us racist, think again. Look at yourselves and your own motivations. I say to you directly…your actions and continual labeling of us as racist, represent the old saying, “this is a case of the kettle calling the pot black.. no pun intended.

I think the biggest worry about HOUND is that the membership will be very publicly in the million range very soon since all of Obama’s minions will promptly join and inflate the numbers artificially. I suspect some will join under several names, so that it will make the media news and somehow serve to deflate PUMA’s numbers. We need to be ready to counter that. And we need to be ready for competing news coverage as well.

Attention, HOUND. This isn’t about “disappointed Hillary supporters with hurt feelings.” Nor, for me, is it about the sloppy unfair process or the biased media — I don’t like those, but that’s politics.
For me, this is about being asked to support an inexperienced, unqualified candidate. While Hillary’s my first choice, there were other Dem. candidates I would have supported if they’d won in this process — other Dems. that have experience and accomplishments. Obama isn’t one of them — and that’s the “secret” that’s going to be coming out in the next few weeks - hopefully in time for the delegates to recognize that and correct the situation at the convention by picking a qualified nominee!!

Can’t join your Hound group . Seems that Obama nation has thrown you a BONE. PUMA’s are much smarter than taking bones thrown at them by Party Big Wigs. I appreciate your work for Hillary and your thoughts about how the primaries need changing. But you see Ed, speaking for myself, if I support your candidate, I would support the injustice done to 18 million voters who voted for Hillary. I just can’t do that. It means that I support what Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi, and all of the backroom Bigs have done by selecting their candidate instead of allowing the American people to do so. Last, if the DNC gets away with this, it would mean supporting candidates in the future that can be selected by the DNC and not elected.by the American People. Thats what troubles me the most. So, if the Democrats lose this election, don’t blame me or the many who think like me. If they are going to pick someone, which of course they should never do, but they should have at least picked someone with the ability, background, and track record that we could vote for and support. Could they find a less qualified candidate? Heck Dennis Kuccinich would be better than O. Kuccinich is working pretty hard and speaking up. He’s a better pick for a new comer than o is. Note that Senator Clinton was very specific when she voted to allow President Bush to invike the war power act and made comments on the senate floor. Many of Senator Obama’s supporters also voted the same way. So, for instance, are you working to unseat Senator Kerry in MA? He has a Democratic opponent in the state’s upcoming primary.

The point that you are missing here in your zeal to select the first black nominee ( I agree with the post above that if we are so in need of absolving some long ago guilt then why not a native American?) that just because we have dissent regarding this candidate due to his inexperience and his looong list of shady associates this does not make us unpatriotic. In fact quite the opposite. Those of us who think and research before blindly casting our ballots, those of us who question our leaders as they shove an unvetted candidate down our throats, and those of us who vote country over party are indeed patriotic. It is my belief that is unpatriotic to essentially say vote for your party or dont vote at all. It is my vote and it is my choice. I am not at all surprised that Rendell started a group called hounds at least they are finally showing themselves for the dogs that they are. And I love that is stands for Hell, Obamas Unqualified No Deal! What has been called a small group of bitter white women is something much greater and growing every day and includes men and women of every color. It is a spirit revolution where we will vote not because of the color of the persons skin or their race but for the content of their character and yes that is patriotic to fight for. This is the government of, for and by the people… simply stated we decide and you will not beat us into submission. BHO may adopt Hillary’s policies and he and his followers may tell the big heads in the dnc that he can get hillary’s votes but let me be clear in saying Senator, you are no Hillary Clinton and we will not support your nomination.

This man had been singing the Obama mantra…great speeches, moves people, etc…, etc., etc., just one second previous to this question. The man sat there dumb-founded, looking like a deer caught in the headlights. He never opened his mouth from that point on; just kept looking into the camera with a blank, stunned expression. You have to admit how hysterically funny that was. Even yesterday, Governor Palenti from MN, challenged an Obama supporter, (Senator - - didn’t catch his name) to name one time Obama had stood up and challenged his party. The Senator danced, spun, and just kept on talking and never did answer the question, no matter how often Governor Palenti asked him. And they wonder why we don’t want to vote for him?

If Obama supporters are so terrified (all of a sudden!) about women’s rights, then you should have supported Hillary who has a much better track record on this and every other area. Obama and his surrogates displayed a great deal of contempt for women during this primary and, as a result, McCain appears to be the lesser of two evils.

No one can argue against Obama’s achievement, but the unspoken corollary is that no AA man will ever again have this opportunity so we have to push him through. That underestimates and insults the entire AA community.
His achievement would have been more effective if he had been elected, not selected. What we’re left with now is a fractured party and a weak candidate, and a loss in Nov.

you might consider recalling that Senator Obama DID NOT win enough pledged delegates to secure the nomination. You might also consider that there were a number of discretionary decisions related to the votes and the delegates in both Florida and MI. Last, you might ask yourself how can it be fair or right to get 10 delegates out of a 10,000 vote lead in one state and get only 10 delegates out of 100,000 vote lead in another. If you answer these questions, you will see that Obama was in no way selected in a fair and square contest. This might suit you fine right now but wait until you are on the other side … and then see if you don’t cry foul too.

That’s how and why the superdelegates were put in place. Up until this election they haven’t been needed. I too have contributed much to HRC. I will be donating on the 4th for our independence from needing anything from BO. Morning sorry about my lack of contributions was a fit full night sleeping. Last night princess wares Prada was compromised at HH last night a man showing up in a police uniform banged on her door demanding she let him in and when she asked for him to show his badge he refused.
Last weekend a poster ‘big papa” posted an evil vile post on HH and shortly after he called princess and harassed her on the phone. I am not sure if the events are related but most likely so.
Questions were asked, how did he find out her phone number? How did he know where she lived? It seems he may be a real police officer. In most Florida jurisdictions, the patrol cars have computers that have “911 emergency” information and can access everyone’s address and phone number.
This is the important part-in many Florida areas like in my county the 911 systems are maintained by jurisdiction. We have city 911 addressing and county 911 addressing and they are two separate systems. I if you find yourself in this situation and find you are being harassed like princess, do not stay home leave your home.
Try to get out of your jurisdiction into another one have an escort to take you back and forth to your home until your safety is re-established. Keep the police dept desk number and the non emergency number by your door.
If someone IDs themselves as law enforcement do not let them in your home with first seeing their badge and confirm the visit thru the police dept numbers. Let the person on the other side of your door know you are verifying him with the department. Also make sure you have a good deadbolt lock and a slide chain on the door to prevent it from opening it all the way.
Please take these precautions safety first.

you any different? I’ve never seen anyone answer a tough opposing point, let alone admit that someone else may have a couple of valid points. Pretty strange for people complaining about how the election was “undemocratic” and how their candidate was undermined by the MSM
I’ve asked, numerous times, how it makes sense to vote for McCain from HRC… but never gotten a reply. Why? because it doesn’t. But you do have the right to vote against the greater good just because you are hurt and angry.
None of you believe that’s in the best interest of our nation, nor do I think you believe that the country will be better with McCain than Obama.
So I ask the question again, What is the point in all of this? How do we make a positive outcome?

They tolerate a President and Vice President who have broken laws, and forced us into a stupid war. The same ones who allowed 9/11 to happen.
Why? Republicans, Democrats, the difference between them is whether they summer on Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.
They eat from the same trough, and get fat while our economy, our and our world crumble.
How about a third party… the People party… defining a platform, defining what our government is supposed to do for us. And demanding action on pressing issues. Asking why our President, who sends troops to war, can’t get over there to sort things out himself.

… it makes sense for the following reasons
1) you want to show one of the parties that they cannot manipulate and steal elections
2) you recognize the risks you are taking and are willing to undertake them versus taking truly unknown risks. In fact given your moniker, it would suggest you know something about quantifiable versus non-quantifiable risks. …
3) you assess the risk and deem it tolerable for a period of time so as to accomplish a bigger and more important goal.
It isn’t that you don’t get answers, it is that you don’t like or don’t believe the ones you get.
Remember, this country was founded on principle. We are talking about fighting for similar principles - find me a better reason!

True, justzisguy. For what it’s worth, I don’t think any of the HH bloggers ever thought that was the case. IMHO, sexism played a bigger role against HRC than racism played against BO, but those weren’t the only factors in this mess, something I want to post about later. BTW, thank you for your advice and support for Princess. She, and the rest of us, are grateful for the tactical and moral support.

obama has no political compass. this has been demonstrated several times within the past two weeks alone. he has run to the right on issues like fisa, the death penalty, and now will expand upon bush’s faith based intiatives. he has changed positions on public financing, the dc gun ban, and NAFTA. is that change he was talking about?
hillary is not perfect, but she can take the heat. she is a centrist and doesn’t pander to fauxgressives. she can tell the audience at yearly kos that the iraqis need to step up and not be afraid to be booed because she stands by her principles. she may not always vote the way that i want her to, but at least she votes.
meanwhile, obama tells people what they want to hear. the message changes with the audience (iran is a threat/is not a threat) he misses votes (move on, kyl/lieberman) and then criticizes afterwards. nothing is ever his fault. it’s always the fault of some staffer or our own misunderstanding . i see in him a lot of the same qualities that i saw in w: arrogance, entitlement, claiming to be a uniter not a divider. i’m not confident in his ability to lead.
the official position of hireheels is that we’re not supporting obama. no one has said that they’ll definitely vote for mccain. personally, i think there’s still time to sway public opinion and the superdelegates to support hillary, and that’s the avenue that i’ll take. i’ll reassess my position in august.
but what do you guys care? you’ve done such a good job telling us that we’re not needed, that we’re too old, unsophisticated and uneducated to be included in the ‘movement’. you can win without us, right?

#123 Algo…I think your complaints about the state of the country are heartfelt and have been true for a long, long time. To put this and every other presidency in perspective, our country already survived Richard Nixon and he set a lower bar than Bush & Co.
The reason pro-Hillary sites exist is because even though many of us despair of justice, we still plug away at it. There is no male politician, having garnered 17+ mil of the popular vote, who would have been elbowed out of the nomination. Akron’s post #125 is relevant. In a primary this close, everything has to be super-scrupulous and above-board. Unfortunately, it wasn’t and the DNC has to live with the consequences.
While I think it would be very difficult to get a third party off the ground, I hope PUMA could be developed as a watchdog agency since politicians are not ethical enough to police themselves.

americansoldier–no one wants hh to become an echo chamber, but many of the people who come here have been run off from other ‘progressive’ blogs and want a place where they can state their positions without being abused. that’s why it’s so distressing when people like tbone and his ilk come into our house and call us delusional or stupid for not supporting obama.
spirited debate is welcome, but insults and degradation are not. it also doesn’t help your cause. it only hardens our resolve.
we’ve tried to debate those that disagree with us using thoughtful arguments. alas, those arguments are often dismissed as a ‘a joke’ or not good enough. it seems as if we’re not telling them what they want to hear.

Everyone take note: Cultists are fiercly fraternal. They take personal offense to any and all things critical to their brethren. They attack en masse, and will often recruit Cultists for backup whenever they need to portray the appearance of popularity. One should expect a flood of Cultist rhetoric at that point.
Pay attention everyone. This type of Cultist is among the more reasonable types. They are able to understand right from wrong, and generally are well informed and honest. The issue with this type is they are radically naive. This cultist is arguing something like: A Nazi soldier was not necessarily anti-semetic, he may have been just really proud to be German and serve in the Army. While technically true, only the most naive among us would come to the same conclusion. (ignoring Nazi conscrpits)
This is a prime example of the Cultist mentality. He/she cannot grasp anything as fact (even the obvious) unless their leader says it to be true. A Cultist can look at this video and actually be offended by the obvious. This explains why a Cultist will fall for their leader praising the public financing system, and then saying it’s fundamentally broken within a 7 month period. They will do so passionately and with a straight face, because this is a cult.
