you keep forsaking, we’ll keep faking
Do the bad pick-up lines ever stop flowin’? Here’s another example of “party unity” from Reuter’s (see one thing and hat tip to reader Akron):
“Author and anti-racist activist Tim Wise suspects race could be behind some of the anti-Obama sentiment among Clinton supporters. Obama would be the first black U.S. president. “Voting against Senator Obama is not about gender solidarity. It is an act of white racial bonding,” Wise wrote in an open letter to progressive female Clinton supporters.”
This man can’t be getting laid. Doesn’t he know that insults and guilt trips aren’t the way to get into a girl’s ballot box?”
Seriously O supporters, you’ve got to be nicer to us if you want to get in bed with Hillary supporters. You know what gets us hot? Universal Health Care with mandates and respect for us and our candidate. You know what doesn’t? Being called a racist.
![]()
And a word to the mr.Wise, we are not rejecting Obama because he’s black. We’re just saying No Deal because he’s inexperienced, arrogant, cowardly, and a product of a complicit media and a corrupt Chicago political machine. Just because the DeanNC fell in love with him, doesn’t mean we did. And labeling us racists only insults us and alienates us further. If this is your best material, better grab some porn. Oh, and pollsters, don’t be surprised if the women answering the phone are faking it!!

Thru this whole long road I have been focused on the undemocratic way the RBC appropriated real and imaginary votes and awarded them to a candidate not even on the ballot. Yes, I have seen all the tripe written about being a racist because I am white and have not said anything about it until now. Enough Already! What little burrow are these writers hanging out in? Have they poked their little heads out long enough to see our country is pretty much fully integrated and doing just fine, thank you very much! For me, being a hillary supporter is not about gender solidarity either….it’s about the best, most qualified candidate with ideas and the ability to make things happen being nominated and elected! Will the Real Democratic Nominee please stand up?

their attempt to brand her as a racist made me sick to my stomach — and princess thinks it will only backfire in the end…

Comments from us ‘racist’ hillary supporters:
“Cristi, I saw you on Hannity & Colmes last night and just wanted to congratulate you for doing such a great job. I happen to be a McCain supporter, although like you, I do not agree with everything that he stands for (e.g., I’m pro-choice). I’m Roman Catholic too, and I obviously don’t agree with everything the Pope says either. I am a middle aged (if I live to be 112!) working professional (a professor at a Big Ten university) woman, and what the mainstream media did to Hillary Clinton was atrocious. I’ve not been a huge Hillary fan (she should have dumped Bill years ago, in my opinion), but she was treated horribly throughout this primary, while Obama was continually treated with kid gloves. Hillary did a wonderful job though on Fox news, and I know of many moderate Republicans who changed their minds (like me) after seeing her. I would have still voted for McCain, but if Hillary had won, I would have been proud to have her as President. She has been treated unfairly all the way around by the media, your DNC, and many former supporters (what’s with Bill Richardson, or as Dennis Miller calls him El Diablo?). And the idea to make her VP to pacify her is a bad one. I agree with what you say on your Web site….NOBAMA Period.
I feel strongly that we all now have to work together to make sure Obama does not win. You used one word last night on Hannity & Colmes that is the most important thing in my mind on these two candidates: character. I am of the opinion that both Obama and his wife do in fact share many of the opinions that they listened to for 20 years in that “church” (quotes intended as sarcasm). His associations with the riff-raff of the world (including Wrignt, Pfleger, Rezko) is beyond belief. His actual defense of these mindless idiots is scary and a testament to his arrogance…they’re my friends so stick your criticism in your ears. And speaking of scary, his wife’s attitudes, demeanor, and hate towards this country are frightening beyond words.
I applaud you for your stance, your Web site, and your exceptional TV appearance!”
D. Woods
“Thank you! I thought I was living in the twilight zone. I am disgusted with the DNC, Obama, Obamanites, Kerry, Kennedy, Oprah, the media; and all the people that have tried to shove this unqualified individual down the voters throat.
They have done the same thing that the Republicans did in 2000. They picked a candidate and be damned the American people.
Keep informing the American people not be fooled by the presentation, this candidate is the DNC “Trojan horse.”
Lourdes
“Hello.
I want to commend you for the creation of a movement not to elect Obama. I supported Hillary, she should have been the nominee, but it was all taken from her. I will never vote for Obama, neither for an Obama/Clinton ticket. My vote is for McCain, we must do everything in our power to make him the next American president. What can I do?
Many thanks.”
Annie.
“Greetings from Florida! We enjoyed listening to your interview with Sean. We are passionate Hillary supporters who are in Florida. We are furious over the DNC’s treatment of our primary vote, and we have LEFT the Democrat party and become Non-Party Affiliated. We will vote for John McCain in the GE. Though we disagree with him on several issues, we RESPECT and TRUST him. We also like him as a person and believe he has great CHARACTER. Keep up the good work.
If Hillary, by some miracle, got the nomination at the convention in August, we would support her. But for us, right now, we are taking a chance on Senator McCain.”
Many thanks,

on June 19th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Does Mr. Wise, in his infinite wisdom, suspect that sexism might be behind many of Senator Obama’s supporters devotion to him rather than Sentor Clinton? Does he suspect that electing Senator Clinton as the country’s first woman president might have absolutely nothing to do with her gender but with the fact that she is the most qualified person for the job? Does he suspect that true progressives do not see the evil of racism as worse than the evil of sexism nor vice versa? Why does he not suspect that the people who continue to prefer Senator Clinton as the Democratic nominee are acting solidarity to see a person who has earned their trust and respect gain an office that nobody deserves (or fails to deserve) based on the color of his or her skin.
I suspect that Mr. Wise is a fool.
I suspect that Mr. Wise is not only a fool but a menace.
on June 19th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
I feel compelled to continue to air some suspicions about Mr. Wise.
I suspect that he forgets that some human beings are both women and not white and that many of these human beings support Senator Clinton. I suspect he is not logical enough to see that this one fact alone refutes his simplistic and simple-minded statement.
on June 19th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
Having aired all those suspicions, I’d like to drop a quick request to people to take a look at the following message to Mark Penn, another chap about whom I have some suspicions. See http://heidilipotpourri.blogspot.com/2008/06/copy-of-inquiry-to-mark-penn.html

I don’t find it necessary, since things will unfold soon enough. We just need to continue march and you ladies are more suited to lead this justifiable cause and I’m grateful that we are not alone on this fight.
IMHO I should be sympathetic to Sen. Obama and his supporter, since he should be representing all of us and the minority. However, the story seems to tell a different motive and I just can’t agree with it. I view him and his supporter as divisive rather than for unity in the party. Today, I got a little taste of what his change is all about and that’s enough to confirm what I believed.
on June 19th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
I have a yet a number of suspicions I realized: does Mr. Wise suspect that I am displaying white racial solidarity when I vote, as I have done over and over, for Eleanor Holmes Norton? Or when I applaud Stephanie Tubbs Jones for her extraordinary loyalty? What does Mr. Wise suspect about the Senator Obama supporters who threatened and still are threatening to drive Ms. Jones from office because she preferred to support Senator Clinton?
You know, I realze I could spend almost as long raising suspicions about Mr. Wise as I can browsing the shoe department in Nordstrom’s!

good morning peeps. wow! i have to start staying up later to keep up with all of you.
appalled and iam0nly1: i really feel for the position that you both are in and can only imaging what you must endure while supporting hillary over o. when i was doing visibility for hill in philly and indianapolis, i witnessed the how badly aa obama supporters treated aa hillary supporters. ‘you should know better’ was a common phrase that i would hear o supporters use.
heidi li (the best hillary fundraiser evah!)–going back to my critical thinking lessons, it seems that mr wise has forgotten that the class of women would include the class of african-american women and that some of those women are in the class of hillary supporters (stephanie tubbs-jones, sheila jackson-lee, maya angelou, blogger sugar, our own iam0nly1, our friends sophia, carla, and phyllis from ny, etc). to echo what iam0nly1 so eloquently stated upthread, they aren’t racist or self-hating aa’s: they support hillary because she’s more qualified to be president. duh!
did anyone see the ap report of names being floated for veep. john edwards? sam nunn!? boy, those guys are the very embodiment of change (end snark).
finally, sista and i were on the conference call with hill last night. it was short. she thanked us for our support, said that she supported o and that it was vital to get a democrat in the white house, reminded us that she won more votes than anyone in primary history, and asked for help with her debt. so dig deep if you’ve got it!
keep up the conversation peeps. and i’ll keep my ballot box closed to o.

What a joy to have the chance to converse with so many bright, witty, shoe loving people. You keep my chin up when things seem darkest.
IMO these clowns will keep calling anyone that doesn’t support their pathetic, even his wife says so, nominee. What else are they gonna say? That we think he’s an empty suit? That we think he’s got the resume that would disqualify him for a middle-management position? That we think he’s a race-baiting, misogynistic, liar? If they mention those things they might have to discuss them. And that would never do. People might actually get informed. And that would never, ever do.

imho, she really has no choice. She can only further her aims from the inside and just can’t afford to cooperate - at least to some extent. I personally will choose to look at like I do when I am a business dinner and some guy who I need to do business with me is trying to take the conversation down the pick-up line route. We all know just how to walk that line (even if we have to “puke” behind their backs)… let him think she is flirting with him. As long as we stay strong and we follow through with “just say no deal” he will still most likely lose in November… or, perhaps falter before the convention but I don’t think the Republicans want that to happen because they know they will lose. … but again, just my view.
on June 20th, 2008 at 11:58 am

For people who complain constantly about a lack of democracy- the heart of which is debate, comprimise and resolution- I don’t think I have ever, ever, been responded to, at least not when I ask tough questions.
I still don’t understand what your beef is about Barack Obama, and his associations.
At least, nothing that couldn’t be said just as easily about Hillary and hers.
If you are really trying to give Hillary a chance, or even change some minds about Barack, you are going to have to make an airtight case, with specific points, that other people can see, reference, and yes, refute.
That’s democracy.
I am willing to listen, and though I voted for Obama, I want the system to be as clean as possible… and for us to understand the pros and cons of all the candidates, to avoid the hero worship and spin- our politicians, all of them, from Obama, to Bush, to Clinton, need we, the people, to call them out, and demand answers and better performance, and when necessary, new people.

Alg0rhYthm - It is very simple. POTUS is a CEO job. No one gets to be CEO of a Fortune 500 company, let alone GE or Exxon, without rising through the ranks. Nobama is a junior analyst - at very best. It doesn’t need any more argument than that. The three second resume review puts him in the circular file.

Alg0rhYthm,
Other than what has been said, there are distinctive differences in the content of those baggages and similar in some areas. However, aside from his inexperience, his background are questionable regarding the secuirty and our self interest in this nation which could be a contribution by his inexperience?
I do not trust him as far as I can throw you and I be damn if I want to dissipate my right to vote that I fought and bleed for this country. Enough of your rethorical question, search your heart out and see if you have a different spirit like the rest of us who can’t be fooled by the spectacles of the media and DNC.
I hate to throw religion and God on my reasoning, but the major problem we have on this country is that we have forgotten God. We think that thru our ingenuity and education that we can resolved our problems and differences without him. Such a flaw and our reasoning are no longer in common since our principles are pick up by the garbage man every morning. Go ahead, search your heart out and tell us about this change and hope. Then maybe we will listen.

My question was far from rhetorical… and I think my thought processes are as different as different can be. I believe there are a lot of questions I would want answered. I have a difficulty stomaching any one who goes to the Senate, and doesn’t work daily to impeach Dick Cheney, who shot a man, and pushed us into this Iraq war, and is collecting profits. But I had to chose 1 of three Senators. McCain clearly has experience, decades, but seems to have lost his integrity.
Senator Clinton is a 1 full term senator. Obama is a no full term senator. Hardly a difference in experience worth trumpeting.
In our democratic system… the primary was a push. the delegate system, which I am not in favor of, but is the present set of Democratic party rules, he won.
I agree with Lou Dobbs who says none of the presidental candidates has real accomplishments on their resumes.

Greatings all. Alg0 thanks as always for taking the time to voice your views. You are always welcome to do so. I think most of us would admit that the clintons have made their mistakes over the years. In my opinion they have learned from them and become better people and policy makers as a result. I question Senator Obama, because he deserves to be scrutinized. He is applying for the most coveted, revered and/ or difficult job in the world. At this time in his career his resume credential do not yet support his employment application. He must be interviewed rigorously to prove himself. If he can’t stand this minor heat— what will happen when the big guns go after him? My tax dollars pay his salary, so I have a right to ask any reasonable questions. Just like any hiring agent would. And frankly… i find it inappropriate to offer a promotion to an individual who has spent such little time in his current position.

If either Clinton or McCain had long standing relationships with members of the KKK, white supremist groups, neo-Nazi’s, skin heads, or any other radical extremist group of this kind, it certainly would be an area of concern.

“I agree with Lou Dobbs who says none of the presidental candidates has real accomplishments on their resumes.”
Maybe Lou should run for president, since he knows so much about the job. Seriously, due to the 2 term limitation in that office, very likely that none of them has that experience. However, McCain is well equip for the job and much I can say about Sen. Clinton due to the exposure of being the first lady.

Just wanted to add, thanks to everyone at hireheels for keeping up my spirits. I pretty much considered myself an apolitical disenfranchised prole and am amazed I got caught up in this. You all make politics interesting again…and funny! I find more ‘hope’ here than in any one of a thousand vacuous speeches by Obama.

heels I miss all the good TV maybe they will post the piece on the website….anyway looks like my comment about mushrooms in october may turn out to be prophesy…more americans think john mccain is more experienced in matters of national security (again by a wide margin) than the big “o”.
of course, mccains lead over obama or obamas over mccain is still with in the margin of error depending on the poll.
senator obama will meet with assad of syria, amedinejad of iran, raul castro of cuba, and hugo chavez of venezuela….with out pre-conditions….if the iranian president really wanted to embarrass the us he could have Osama bin Laden in Tehran while these high level talks are going on….maybe have him walk in on a meeting while barak obama is in the room and give barak a big al queada hug?
that is change we can be frightened of…..
well mom is in town going over to say high

“And frankly… i find it inappropriate to offer a promotion to an individual who has spent such little time in his current position.”
Absolutely, this one most especially requires a right of passage and he is very short of in qualification.

Ah, but Hillary _does_ have ties to such a group - it’s called the family, an extremist christian group that regularly gets members of the mililtary to appear, in uniform, in their videos, while espousing the idea that the us should have a christian government - that’s illegal for any soldier, sailor, airman, or marine, let alone an officer, let alone flag and general officers to do.
The Family, which has as a minister a man who has praised nazis and communist china for how they lead people.

Delusional obamanics at their best.
I am not a racist…at all. I am NOT voting for Obama because I do NOT feel ’safe’ with him looking after what I intend to leave to my children and grandchildren. It’s just that simple.

Over 90% of blacks voted for BO in the primaries because of his skin color are not racists but anyone who won’t vote for him is a racist? If BO becomes the next president no one will dare to criticize him for the fear of being labeled a racist!
