don’t blow sunshine up my ass (the florida debacle spelled out)

Posted on May 30th, 2008 in On Consignment by hireheels

By: Loye N. Hawkins, Founder of CountOurVotes.org

I live in Florida and like more than 3.6 million other folks I cast my vote in the Presidential Primary on January 29. Last spring, legislation was passed in the Florida Congress, HB-537, that would supposedly give Floridians a greater role in selecting the presidential candidates. Well apparently it didn’t work out as planned, and because of this legislation more than 1.7 million votes are now left out of the tally. I’m sure we’d all like to believe that our lawmakers had our best interest at heart, and no matter their rationale, we the people rely on these officials to protect our rights. The concept of “one man, one vote” has been referred to as a “fundamental principle of constitutional law”. However, most of the mainstream media and punditry seem satisfied (even unfazed) with an outcome of more than 3.6 million Floridians being disenfranchised. They continue to relegate the “situation” to an Obama/Clinton Campaign issue - rather than acknowledge it as the crisis that it is – by suggesting that somehow, allowing our votes to be counted would be unfair to one of the candidates, and their only observations have been mostly limited to the belief that, changing the date of the Primary Election in Florida was the result of the will of the people.sugardaddy_byline

That is simply not true. The Democrats in the Florida Congress were out numbered 77 to 43 in the House of Representatives and 26 to 14 in the Senate when this Bill was passed. And when the democrats attempted to amend HB-537, moving the Primary Election Date to one that would comply with DNC Rules, their efforts were blocked by the Republican Majority, and a veto threat by the republican governor. And to top all that off… in the last few days of session: SB-1174, a bill providing for a paper trail on voting machines was combined with HB-537 by the majority. The paper trail issue has been a long standing objective of the Democrats since the 2000 national election. So knowing they didn’t have the votes to stop this legislation, and aware of the future consequences of voting against a paper trail on voting machines, the democrats were all but forced to vote with the republican majority.

Indeed, the DNC and the RNC both have RULES that their respective members must abide by, but these rules do not trump state law. It was State law, not state party policy that changed the election date. State law cannot currently be superceded by DNC policy and the Democratic National Committee Rules Committee members were well aware of this; and even after considering the failed efforts of our democratic law makers; they still chose to deny the people of Florida the right to have our votes count.

Hence, Florida’s latest voting debacle should outrage every citizen in every state across our nation, because if we allow any group or organization, by any legal device, the power to deny us our rights today, it will happen again and you could be next. It is my understanding that the DNC has a contractual agreement to fight for our right to vote. Instead they turned their backs on the good people of the State of Florida.

Finally, all the democratic candidates were on the ballot in Florida, and both of the remaining candidates had national “brand” recognition. The DNC has shown no will in resolving this crisis over the past 6 months, but rather chose to place faith in the hands of the two remaining candidates. One wanted to count our votes, and the other refused, for whatever the reasons may have been. But I don’t think it should be about either of them. Nor should it be their decision. It’s about you, and me. It’s about us, and our right to one man one vote and we have waited long enough. They’re cooking us in a slow stew and when time is up we’ll have to accept whatever they offer, and you can bet it’s not going to amount to anything even close to our Constitutional Right of One Man One Vote.

January 29 was not the day of some $20,000,000 Beauty Contest, it was the day we went out to vote; and in record numbers for the candidates of our choice. It’s time for us to come together and let the DNC know that we demand they count our votes. Howard Dean signed off on RULES that so grossly tear right into the fabric of the fundamental principles of our democracy, it is nothing short of stunning. But they’re not going to do a thing without public outcry. We need you in D.C. tomorrow!!!

universal health-scare (obama’s the boogeyman)

Posted on May 29th, 2008 in Manolo Minx by hireheels

The Minx has been conspicuously absent from hireheels recently. The reasons for my absences can all be traced back to “health-scare” concerns. We’re talking one hellish week fighting a difficult chronic pain condition, one nagging bout of the death-cough that already cost me one cracked rib this year and nearly dislocated my appendix, and one dear family member requiring surgery (and now home safely, thank you). The kind of stuff you can live through, but boy, does it suck you dry. (It sucks you even dryer when your health care coverage is inadequate, vulnerable or absent.)
manolominx_byline

I’m one of the lucky ones. I have a good health care plan and I finally have a specialist who’s helped me get a handle on a truly demonic pain situation. But all that could go *poof!* if I lost my job. I wouldn’t be able to afford COBRA. If the mandatory plans here in Massachusetts didn’t cover my meds, I’d probably be dead inside a month, maybe two. It’s scary to think you’re one unfortunate personality conflict at work away from the grave. Go ahead and laugh that I’m being overly dramatic, but others with severe chronic pain or serious health issues will tell you how challenging it is with decent health coverage. Without it, you’re too sick to work, too sick to keep up your copays, but not sick enough to qualify for disability (which won’t cover your living expenses, never mind your medical expenses). It’s a toss-up as to whether your medical disorder or the results of lack of coverage will kill you first. That’s what lurks in the depths of my fears every day.

Meanwhile, the boogeyman doesn’t think reaching for universal coverage for all Americans is a good fight. Hillary does. So do I. My life may one day depend on it. How dare he–how f***ing dare he–decide that my life isn’t worth the political fight. Maybe I should call him the next time I can’t pick myself up off the floor in the local hospital. Or if some ER doc decides that I’m just an addict looking for a fix and kicks me out when I’m in the worst pain of my life. Or when some half-assed private coverage decides that it can capitate the drugs that rescue me, or deny me coverage for the first drug regimen ever that actually keeps me functioning well most of the time without terrible side effects. Silly me, but I like being a productive citizen, something I can continue to be with proper health care and a way to pay for it.

Thanks, Hillary. You haven’t given up fighting for my life. It’s why I’m still fighting for yours.

And mark sista’s words… the dnc will feel a blistering sting from all of the hireheels chics if they don’t recognize the voters’ will. sending good luck wishes for a strong showing for our gal in PR Sunday!!!”

N.B.: It really smarts when a gal’s wearing 5-inch spikes pile-drives a dude smack dab in the middle of his instep… Dean you may be a master at sidestepping the issues… but you’re no match for me and the rest of the hh crew.

Need a little rah rah ladies? Here’s a little grit that I sent the DNC’s way in response to one of Howard’s latest fund-raising solicitations. I hope you find it motivational.

Dear Chairman Dean:

Enclosed please find what’s left of my DNC membership card.

Disenfranchising millions of voters for your stupid PR ploy to appease Iowa (with its measly SEVEN electoral votes) will be your undoing.

Your trickery will lose the general election for the Dems. WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS REMEMBER?!?! We don’t diss registered Democrats because their Republican state legislators “broke” your asinine calendar rules.

The “Repugs” are laughing at YOU Howard— from the bank all the way to the ballot box!!!

Start leading the show with ethics not your BIG FAT EGO.
YOU’LL NOT GET ONE “BLUE” CENT FROM ME!!!

ASS-ASS-in-NATION

Posted on May 24th, 2008 in On Consignment by hireheels

By Queen Choo - (An American MFA Student in Germany)

Has the US media is gone NUTS?!? I’m currently out of the country,
so I’m only seeing what’s going up on youtube. What is all this ASSINATION crap?
We call it bullying in the States, “mobbing” in Europe. Clinton is being mobbed by the men who are beating her up in order to shut her up.

Why? It’s Simple! Hillary was gaining in popularity and has an absolutely credible, logical argument for winning nom— see popular vote and the “map.” Obama’s support has dwindled, the Axelrod ad campaign is tired, and there are real-life flaws in the very untested senator from IL.

Looming: a super strong showing in Puerto Rico and the Florida & Michigan votes. Hillary poses a huge threat, so PrObamas had to find a way to STOP her, stop her HARD and stop her FAST.

So they (Obi’s crew & the media) waited for her to say something, anything, they could weld into a weapon against her. But she hasn’t said ANYTHING CLOSE to being “offensive” or a “mistake” – so the men simply created a tornado with a well-spun fabrication!

The idea is to GAG Hillary. She is not allowed to use the word “assassinate,” when citing historical fact. She was not allowed to say “white working class” when quoting the AP… what next?!?

The wrath of the press coupled or coupling with Obama’s campaign reflects their wrath against all women who DARE not acquiesce to their decisions/desires.

How DARE Hillary even hint at defeating their MAN, their “chosen one”? How DARE she claim to be the people’s choice by CITING NUMBERS rather than demurely bowing out and like a perfect little “SWEETIE.”

Hillary, like all smart chics before her, is being punished for savviness. The hate is simmering on a hot stove. Mobbing experts Sandra M. Stokes, PhD, and Sheri R. Klein, PhD have seen that hatred too:

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Mobbing: Is Gender a Factor?

“Mobbing is an emotional assault. It begins when an individual becomes the target of disrespectful and harmful behavior. Through innuendo, rumors, and public discrediting, a hostile environment is created in which one individual gathers others to willingly, or unwillingly, participate in continuous malevolent actions to force a person out of the workplace.”

And ask yourself; Just WHO is in danger of ASS-ASS-in-NATION here?? It’s Hillary who is being trounced on, pounded by the gang and made to suffer and it is HER CAREER, HER REPUTATION and OUR CANDIDATE who is being ASSASSINATED!

Hillary referred to the RFK assassination, which was marked in time in everyone’s inner clock, just as 911 is. SO WHAT? She had every reason to refer to RFK being a democratic nominee into JUNE: She was reminding people that the nominee need not be chosen NOW not to mention LAST MONTH or THE MONTH BEFORE. She does not need to apologize nor offer an explanation.

Twisting her remarks into an Obama deathwish is the lowest, most ludicrous and despicable distortion the Obama camp has stooped to. Our best friend is being beat up and muzzled. IT MUST STOP!!!

EDITOR’S NOTE:

After reading the transcript of the interview that Senator Clinton gave to the Argus Leader’s editorial board, we at hireheels.com cannot understand what all of the hoop-la is about. Obviously the members of the media who are stirring this cauldron didn’t read what we did. Nor did they heed the words of Robert. F. Kennedy, Jr. or those of Randell Beck, Argus Leader’s Executive Editor.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. issued the following statement 5/24/08:
“It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband’s 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.”

The Argus Leader’s Executive Editor Randell Beck issued the following statement 5/24/08:
“The context of the question and answer with Sen. Clinton was whether her continued candidacy jeopardized party unity this close to the Democratic convention. Her reference to Mr. Kennedy’s assassination appeared to focus on the timeline of his primary candidacy and not the assassination itself.”

Obviously there is a disconnect here. Perhaps the hire-ups at the major MSM networks would wake up with a little tit-for-tat from hireheels… We say spike your stilettos where these so-called experts will really feel the pain— their revenues. CALL, WRITE, PICKET their advertisers; tell them we’re not going to tolerate this falsetto, mudslinging claptrap any more. Until we see some real CHANGE our TV sets ARE OFF!

Xerox that!

no love in the air (not even sex!)

Posted on May 23rd, 2008 in Piper in Pucci by hireheels

So this little gem came to my in-box yesterday from Air Obama’s, er, I mean, Air America’s Thom Hartmann:

“The issue at hand for the Democratic Party for winning in ‘08 is not losing to McCain but losing to a divided Democratic party. The first thing Obama should do if nominated is put Hillary on the ticket. Will the Republicans have a field day with her on the ticket? Yes! Is their some bad blood in the water due to some negative campaign strategies on the part of the Clintons? Probably. Can Hillary be a tough fighter able to play tough allowing Obama to stay higher above the fray? Yes!”piper_in_pucci_byline

Thom, we know that you want us, but your pick up lines just aren’t working. (What is it with Obambots and early eruptions?) This primary is still “active,” your candidate has not climaxed, and no amount of premature ejaculation will change that!

If you’re going to try to bed us, do NOT insult our intelligence. The Republicans had their way with Hillary for fifteen years, and they’ve only made her “sexier.” Not only does she know how to canoodle with the GOP, but she can also perform the necessary S&M when they’re playin’ naughty. Whatever baggage she supposedly has was thoroughly picked through years ago, and she’s still hot. So, is that the best you’ve got? (If so, pass the remote!)

Now Obama’s Louis Vuitton trunk is still new and exciting for the Rethugs. They’ve just begun to rummage through his nefarious connections with the likes of Auchi, Rezko, Ayers, and Wright. Will Rezko flip if he’s convicted? Will Wright have another outburst? And what of those rumored videos of Michelle in the Trinity pulpit? Sounds delish! Karl Rove must be salivating.

Oh, and Thommy, propagating the meme that ‘the Clintons’ have run a negative campaign is such a turn off. They say politics ain’t beanbag. Telling voters Obama is less-than-endowd in matters of (well, everything) is not campaigning negatively. However, accusing our gal of doing “anything to win”, calling her ‘Bush/Cheney-lite”, trashing her husband’s legacy, repeatedly playing the race/class card, adopting Republican scare tactics like “Harry and Louise”, having members of your campaign question the validity of her tears and remaining silent while surrogates try to force her from the race is…well, let’s just say it won’t get you laid!

Finally Thom, why should we allow you to seduce us when it’s clear that we’d be doing all of the work? Having Hillary fight Obama’s battles while he remains “above the fray” is hardly an enticement to hook up with you, and will probably leave us blue (if you know what I mean). In a presidential race, you don’t get to lay back and enjoy it.

So Thom, we decline your offer to canoodle. But don’t despair. Maybe all of those younger, educated voters that Donna Brazile keeps touting will keep you from being lonely at night. Just don’t expect them to return your calls in November.

Live Thread: send our blue kentucky gal some love

Posted on May 20th, 2008 in Princess Wears Prada by hireheels

Last night on Greta (down boy! y’all know we’re Fox lovers now!) Newt Gingrich opined on the current state of the democratic race and conceded that there is simply no way to predict its outcome, regardless of the media’s mass obituary of Senator Clinton. Here’s the quote he princess_wears_prada_bylineended the interview with:

“I think this race is the most extraordinary and volatile and uncertain race in history - Obama could be the nominee… Hillary Clinton could be the nominee!”

And from hireheels’ angel, “Pattt Me” Buchanan, “I think he’s makin’ a mistake if he starts doing victory laps while Hillary Clinton’s giving a victory speech in Kentucky.”

Hopefully the bluegrass state turns out in force for our gal….they love a good fight as John Wayne proved in The Fighting Kentuckian (1949) …and they’re not willing to hand this over to Obama. Indeed, the pied-piper of droolin’ dems elected not to campaign in Kentucky (though he outspent her 5 - 1)…. why? Is it because he feared that competing there would validate a Clinton win?

Hmmmm, that sounds familiar, eh?

And from Politico:

“If Clinton wins by a larger margin than the one by which Obama is expected to beat her in Tuesday’s other primary in Oregon, it would also amplify her assertion that she’s ahead in total votes, if Florida and Michigan are counted.”

The new Suffolk University Poll has Hillary ahead 51 - 25, but as we’ve learned, anything can happen.

Keep on dishin’ Kentucky and all things Hillary below!

Obama Suffers from Premature Ejaculation

Posted on May 20th, 2008 in Piper in Pucci by hireheels

Written by Piper in Pucci

We at hireheels.com strongly believe that Hillary Rodham Clinton will be Democratic nominee in the 2008 presidential election. We’ve seen her metamorphosis from ‘shoe’-in to survivor. She has overcome being massively overspent, suffered charges of negative campaigning and racism, and endured malicious coverage in the press and on the blogs to continue to be competitive in this race.

But we were dismayed to learn this week that Senator Obama was planning to declare victory after the Oregon primary despite not having reached the requisite 2,025 pledged delegates needed to secure the nomination and before Montana, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico have their chance to vote. We’re told he’ll attempt his almost-victory lap at the scene of the crime where Hillary’s political obituary was first penned - Iowa!piper_in_pucci_byline

Down boy! Not so fast. Girls like to take it sloooow.

Senator Obama also performed a victory lap dance on the House floor last week, causing dismay among Clinton supporters who think that he is counting his chickens before they come home to roost. All this before the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee on May 31 on the fate of the Florida and Michigan delegations. Should we be surprised when all we hear is… “YES, YES YES, We Can” disenfranchise Michigan and Florida.

It is clear that Obama will continue to “ignore” Hillary (like every bad boy does in the morning) and begin a general election campaign against McCain. Risky strategy, considering the oncoming from the GOP this past week.

This inevitability meme from the Obama camp exists for one reason and one reason only: to suppress the vote in the remaining states. This is especially true for Kentucky, where Obama is not only expected to lose, but to be crushed. If he loses by the margins expected, it would hurt his electibility argument and expose his weakness in attracting working class voters (speaking of which, have you caught Flineo’s “Unelectable” youtuber - Obama’s never been sexier!!).

Team Obama also knows that when all of the votes are counted, Senator Clinton will likely have the lead in the popular vote. This will be a powerful argument to take to the superdelegates and the public, especially after the debacle of 2000. Thus, they think that their path to victory is to demoralize the Clinton base.

Note to Obama Campaign: It won’t work!

The voters of the remaining states will have their first chance in decades to help determine who the presidential nominee of their party will be. Record numbers of Democrats are being registered this primary season, which the last time I checked, is good for the party.

Declaring victory before all of the votes are counted and before either candidate obtains the magic number not only does a disservice to the voters of those states, the Democratic Party, and the democratic process itself, but also reminds women of how much we hate big talkers and loathe premature ejaculation!

WE’RE GOIN’ ALL THE WAY - AND OOOOOHH….IT’S NEVER FELT SO GOOD!!

2 baptisms, a wedding & a funeral

Posted on May 18th, 2008 in Princess Wears Prada by hireheels

(actually 3 funerals - but I’ll get to that)

While lying awake at 1:13 am, I started thinking about what I could say to the superheroes - I mean superdelegates - to make them see what I see, hear what I hear, feel what I feel…and ultimately convince them that the female candidate happens to be the strongest Democrat in the race. Heck they’ve heard it all by now;or have they?

Before I begin my rant, I will say I felt much less sinister and dare I say, hopeful the previous sleepless night.  Before turning in Friday, I was pumped to discover my vid-on-demand service back online (hey…it’s either ambien or TV and princess prefers her temple drug-free)!  Between Starz, HBO and Showtime, my options were vast. But instead of being lulled to dreamland by narcissistically naughty Ed Norton in Painted Veil, or by my fav eye candy in Oceans 11, I chose Hillary – SWANK that is!  Princess settled on HBO’s Iron-Jawed Angels. I don’t recommend this type of energy before falling asleep. Hillary Swank, in portaying the sassy Alice Paul, delivers one of her most brilliant performances. These savvy chics were no different than we are – in feeling almost equal to men in this country.  They faced humiliation, misogyny, resistance from both sexes…even violence…yet persevered ’til victory.  Do watch it… you’ll be stunned by how little attitudes have changed in the last century.
princess_wears_prada_byline

Anyway, tonight I chose HOAX with Richard Gere and flipped from inspired to scared…Super-Delis….if you’re not willing to consider the strengths, experience and fortitude of Hillary Clinton against John McCain in your decision making, are you instead willing to pin our country’s fragile future on the hope that Senator Obama and his ominous history with Trinity Church of Christ will not come back to bite you in the ass?

Ask yourself: Do you sincerely believe that Barack Obama (or his wife for that matter) is not at all influenced by Reverend Jeremiah Wright – even though his book and its title are inspired by the man and his sermons? Are you comfortable knowing that Obama continues to support and attend a church that views America through a “Black Liberation Theology” lens?

I am not the most pious princess, but I did go attend church the Sunday after 9-11.  Are you sure Obama was not in Trinity that day?  And even if he weren’t…and even if Wright’s anti-American rant were an isolated case, how could he not have heard about such a radical sermon on a day when even some agnostics attended religious services?  Do you accept that he stayed with Trinity, even after Reverend Wright’s rant on September 16 immediately following the attacks on our country?

Does it make sense to you that he’d baptize his two precious girls there and can you imagine introducing such radical views into your own children’s impressionable universe?

Lastly, have you heard of Trinity’s three murdered gay, black male congregants in the span of 40 days a few months back?  Be sure to check holy gay choir boy and pray that the allegation of phone records held by the Chicago P.D. is false.Bottom line: I’m not here to remind you of Reverend Wright.  You’ve seen enough of him to haunt your consciousness in perpetuity (if not, I recommend hireheels’ exclusive Tale of Two Trinities video

I am simply here to ask if you are willing to pre-judge the country’s temperature and calculate how it will react to the GOP’s regurgitation of Trinity’s 2 Baptisms, A Wedding & A Funeral.

Because if you’re not sure, I ask only that you take a second look at our former first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton.  Can you be sure she will fight for everyone in this country?  I can.  Can you be sure she loves this country and has served it her entire adult life? I can.  Can you be sure she has been vetted ad infinitum?  I can.  Can you be sure that she has withstood endless and withering attacks by the GOP – only to stand stronger than ever? I can.

Don’t listen to me. I am one blogger. I am one woman. I am one tired chic!

Listen to yourself and that your God-given or life-toughened gut. Then, and only then, make your decision.

*******UPDATE (AND TO MY POINT AS NOTED IN THIS POST’S TITLE):
MAY 29, 2008 NEW PASTOR-GATE**********

Another Chicago minister is causing headaches for Barack Obama after he told the Democratic candidate’s church congregation Sunday that Hillary Clinton felt entitled to the presidency because she’s white.

Catholic pastor Michael Pfleger, who is white, mocked Hillary Clinton for getting choked up on camera before the New Hampshire primary in January: “When Hillary was crying … I really don’t believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white. And this is mine’,” he said, shouting at times. “Then out of nowhere came, ‘Hey I’m Barack Obama’. And she said, ‘Oh damn! Where did you come from? I’m white! I’m entitled! There’s a black man stealing my show’!”

After that, he simulated Clinton crying and then said: “She wasn’t the only one crying. There was a whole lot of white people crying … I’m sorry. I don’t wanna get you in any more trouble. The live streaming just went out again.”

He also said at one point, “America has been raping people of color and America has to pay the price for the rape.”

the premiere of “SEXist & the Sweetie” and why I won’t attend

Posted on May 15th, 2008 in Manolo Minx by hireheels

So maybe you haven’t heard this latest kerfluffle. Sen. Barack Obama, while touring a factory, called a woman “sweetie” and brushed off her questions about the fate of the workers there. Trouble is, she’s a local television reporter. And there were cameras everywhere.

Sure, people get tired on the campaign trail and get sloppy with their language. He apparently called the reporter and left her a voicemail with a pretty decent apology, too. But this isn’t the first time he’s addressed an adult woman as “sweetie” on the campaign trail. And I’m angry about it, regardless of how silly people might think it is for me to feel that way.

I’m angry because he called a woman he didn’t know by a diminutive nickname in a tone that sounded very condescending to me. “Diminutive,” according to my handy pocket dictionary, means “indicating small size and sometimes the state or quality of being lovable, pitiable, or contemptible.” He diminished a woman,  a professional woman he didn’t know, in a professional setting where she had every right to be respected. In other words, he put her in her place.manolominx_byline

Lest anyone think I’m some humorless dried-up old hag, I work in a male-dominated industry where I have to roll with the punches every day. I work with white-collar, blue-collar, pink-collar folks from everywhere. I have developed an extraordinarily high threshold for sexist behavior and outrageous comments. Everyone I work with knows I’m the cool one, the one who can take the ribbing and give it right back without being nasty or humorless. That’s one of the ways I’ve developed solid, loyal relationships up, down and across my organization. People with whom I share earned mutual respect can even call me me nearly any damn name they want to. But nobody, and I mean nobody, better diminish me as a professional, ever. I worked too hard, performed too well, and swallowed too much crap to let anyone pat me on the head and treat me as a child who needs to sit quietly while the grown-ups talk.

Just think: If Hillary Clinton had called an adult man of color “boy” on the campaign trail, she’d rightfully be excoriated for it. But Mr. Smooth can call a reporter– who was actually performing her job of asking the tough questions on behalf of the voters –”sweetie,” and I’ll bet the cable boys are fawning all over him again. Remember the adage about dating a man that says if he’s nice to you but mean to the waitress, he’s not a nice guy? Obama just dissed the waitress. He’s telling you who he is. Pay attention!

still no love for our mountain mama

Posted on May 13th, 2008 in Princess Wears Prada by hireheels

All the pundits are quick to dismiss West Wirginia and what a win there WON’T MEAN for Hillary Clinton.  But few like to discuss what a potential loss there says about Obama.  As Wolfie reminded us on NBC’s Today Show this morning, “I think Democrats across the country tomorrow will be asking themselves why Senator Obama, with all of his money, with all of the great press, with voters being told that he is the inevitable nominee…why did Sen. Obama lose West Virginia by 15 points or so?”

princess_wears_prada_byline

Princess agrees and wants to discuss what Hillary so boldly tabled in her phoner with USA Today. Obama’s appeal is getting to be as narrow as his frame (princess likes a little meat on her bones!).  Early on in the race, his appeal was as exciting as a 75% OFF private sale @ Prada.  You don’t know why you loved what you bought – you just had to have it!!!  Then you got home and looked at the crisp shopping bags you proudly toted through soho and began to think… Did I really need to spend that much money….will I ever wear that dress…..can I really wear these shoes to work?  Then you get that sick feeling in your stomach as you think about facing those disciplined prada soldiers who will turn on you as fast as the African-American base turned on the Clintons.

Few in the media are willing to admit it but there’s something happening right now in this race – and I’m not just referring to West Virginia.  Slowly and steadily, buyer’s remorse is setting in… and the more they hear about Barack Obama’s super-left-of-center views, the less likely they will be to support him in the Fall.

Let’s hope the remaining “shoppers” figure it out quicker than those did in the early states.
